Tried to open door to put my 2 year old in her car seat and it wouldn't open, assume this was due to the extreme cold. So I took our other vehicle, few days later when it warmed up I again went to leave with my daughter and this time the door opened but will no longer latch shut. Tried toggling child lock messing with lock mechanism on top of the door Tried both interior and exterior handles but i
... t will not latch no matter what I do. Now all my lights are staying on and door ajar light and icon are on and won't go off. I currently have the door ratchet strapped inside the vehicle to hold it close and I cannot drive it due to the safety concerns if the strap let's loose and the door flings open... There is a recall for frozen door mechanism my vehicle falls in this range and I was notified previously I qualified for the recall. Now that it actually happened it shows my vehicle isn't listed and the dealership wants to charge me for a safety recall that should be covered.Read more

We get a power reduced code and the truck shuts down while driving. We have to pull over and put it in park and restart it. When we are on the freeway we can’t get over we put it in neutral and turn off the truck and restart it. It is very scary and dangerous! This has been happening since June of 2025.

Vehicle is having ECM module errors and sensor issues just like other Ford models. It throws a code and then will not go above 5th gear or go below 3rd gear until vehicle is shut off and restarted. Once it restarts it is fine for a bit. It can go a few days in between malfunctions or can happen multiple times per day.

1. Fuel Pump failure occurred September 4th 2025 2. While towing a travel trailer from Raleigh NC to Surf City NC. When the truck stalled we lost all power and power steering and there was no clear path to pull off the single lane road with no shoulder. With a line of vehicle's behind us, including tractor trailers this created very serious safety situation not only for us but other travelers he
... ading toward us and behind us. We were fortunate that the tractor trailer behind us was alert. I was able to restart the vehicle and drive to a safe location. We left the travel trailer at the coast, and returned vehicle to Capital Ford on or about September 9th. So yes, our safety and the safety of other was in serious risk. 3. No the problem has not been reproduced. 4. Yes the dealer, Capital Ford, Inc of Raleigh, NC has inspected and confirmed root cause to be fuel pump recall. 5. As I recall the truck hesitated, check engine light came on, and truck stalled ( unsure if light came on before or after stall) in a very short period of time. I do not recall the exact amount of time but I do recall the hesitation, I told my wife something is not right, engine stalled and we lost all power. Currently it has been 8 months since notification and, for the safety of the driver and other on the road, we have been unable to use vehicle for reason purchased since the incident.Read more

My 2019 Ford F-150 (2.7L EcoBoost) is subject to Emission Recall 24E12, which addresses a defective PCM calibration that Ford acknowledges "could, over time, reduce the effectiveness of the emissions control system and the monitoring accuracy of the catalytic converter's efficiency." COMPONENT: Catalytic converter system and powertrain control module (PCM). Vehicle is available for inspection at R
... ich Ford in Albuquerque, NM, where it has been serviced for this issue. TIMELINE: Prior to the 24E12 recall repair, my truck had intermittent P0420/P0430 codes (catalyst efficiency below threshold). The check engine light would illuminate and then clear on its own. I brought the vehicle to Rich Ford for the 24E12 PCM reprogram. Within approximately one month of the recall repair, the same catalytic converter codes returned, except now the condition is constant and no longer clears. This timeline is documented in my FordPass app and the dealer's service records. SAFETY RISK: The constant check engine light prevents the vehicle from passing Bernalillo County emissions testing, which is required for registration in Albuquerque, NM. I am unable to legally register my vehicle due to a condition caused by a manufacturer-acknowledged defect. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Rich Ford diagnosed the recurring P0420/P0430 codes. They initially attempted to charge me $300+ for extended diagnostics. They are now consulting with Ford about whether a catalytic converter replacement will be covered under the recall. PRIOR SYMPTOMS: The intermittent check engine light with P0420/P0430 codes existed before the recall repair but was not constant. The recall repair worsened the condition from intermittent to persistent. PATTERN: Ford's recall documentation states the MIL "may illuminate even though a catalytic converter repair may not be necessary," yet numerous owners report being quoted $1,900-$2,100+ for cat replacement at their own expense after the 24E12 reprogram. Ford corporate confirmed the $300Read more

My 2018 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission is experiencing severe slipping, delayed engagemen (1-2, 3-4), and erratic shifting. Upon inspection, I found significant gold glitter-like metal shavings in the transmission fluid/oil pan, indicating internal wear or failure of components. These symptoms create safety concerns including hesitation or loss of power during a

My 2017 Ford Escape equipped with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine is experiencing coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders, resulting in misfires, rough startup, and significant engine performance issues. The vehicle currently has approximately 150,000 miles. The issue presents itself with a rough idle and shaking at startup, followed by the engine smoothing out after several seconds. Diagnostic trou
... ble codes indicate a cylinder misfire consistent with coolant intrusion. Upon further inspection and research, this appears to be a well-documented issue affecting this engine design. There were no external coolant leaks visible, and coolant levels dropped without explanation, indicating internal coolant intrusion. This type of failure poses a serious safety concern, as the engine can misfire unexpectedly, lose power, or potentially stall while driving. Loss of engine power while operating the vehicle creates a hazardous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. We purchased this vehicle as safe and reliable transportation for our daughter, and there was no prior disclosure of engine issues. The failure appears to stem from a known defect related to the engine design rather than normal wear and tear. Given the widespread documentation of coolant intrusion problems with this engine platform, I believe this issue represents a significant safety and reliability concern that should be formally investigated.Read more

My vehicle was recalled by the manufacturer for possibly defective intake valves. The manufacturer did a destructive test on the valves, This test consisted of running the car at 4500 rpm (approximately 120 mph) for a period of approximately 50 minutes. Since this test my car has undergone 3 transmission repairs. Any of these conditions could have resulted in being stranded on the road or poss
... ibly losing control of the vehicle, The test only makes the assumption that if the valves did not fail during the test they will continue to provide adequate and safe service. This is not necessarily true. The valves may fail on the highway causing loss of control, I believe that my vehicle was damaged by this test. My vehicle has a little over 30, 000 miles and had no damage before this test. The manufacturer should make this good on the intake valves by replacing them on the 90,000+ vehicles subject to this recall.Read more
