A manufacturer recall was issued for a defect involving the fuel system (fuel injectors), but no remedy or repair timeline has been provided. The extended and indefinite repair timeline creates a significant burden, as the vehicle remains unusable with no clear resolution date. I have contacted both the dealer and the manufacturer, but no satisfactory resolution or timeline has been provided. No warning lights or prior symptoms were observed. The issue has not been independently reproduced, as it is a manufacturer-identified defect. The vehicle has not been repaired because no remedy is available. Overall, this represents a safety concern and loss of use, with no timeline provided for when the recall will be resolved.Read more

I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding a severe design defect in the 3.5L V6 engine of my 2013 Ford Explorer. The vehicle is equipped with an internal, chain-driven water pump that is currently failing at 100000 miles, as evidenced by coolant actively draining from the factory weep hole. Because this pump is located inside the engine block and driven by the timing chain, a complete s
... eal failure dumps engine coolant directly into the oil pan. This is a critical safety hazard. When the coolant and oil mix, it destroys the engine bearings and causes the engine to completely seize without warning. If this sudden engine seizure occurs while driving at highway speeds, it results in an immediate and total loss of motive power, power steering, and power brakes. This defect creates an extreme crash hazard for the occupants of the vehicle and other drivers on the road. The internal weep hole provides virtually no dashboard warning or indicator to the driver before this catastrophic failure occurs. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this known, dangerous design flaw to force a mandatory safety recall before this sudden loss of vehicle control causes severe injuries or fatalities.Read more

My 2026MY Ford Escape is having intermittent rear view camera issues. On two separate occasions in the last week, when I put the vehicle into reverse, there is no image displayed on the center stack screen. The screen was completely blank and did not show what is behind my vehicle. I tried putting the vehicle back into park and then back into reverse and it still did not work. Yesterday, I took t
... he vehicle to my local Ford dealership and was told that there is no recall for this. I worked at Ford for 32 years and I am familiar with the laws governing safety features on passenger vehicles. I am concerned that this is similar issue that was announced recently by Ford on the Bronco Sport. The technician at the Ford dealership said for me to keep driving it until Ford becomes aware of the issue specific to other 2026MY Escapes and then issues a recall and a potential fix. Based on my experience working for the company, this may take several months. I am concerned that this will lead to accidents that could endanger kids, pets, or personal property. Please compel the company to address this quickly. Thanks.Read more

Yesterday I went to the Ford dealership and asked if my 2009 Ford Escape could have the power steering repaired under recall as the code from the OBD2 data is B2278 and that falls under a RECALL for PSCM Power Steering Control Module - STEERING SHAFT TORQUE SENSOR MALFUNCTION CAMPAIGN ID: 14V284000 FORD RECALL #14S05 I was advised there is no open recall of my vehicle and that this recall had been
... performed in 2014 as a software update. The history also shows my vehicle did not have any stored codes at the time of programming the PSCM. The recall work shows a 0.3 hours time slot for the Ford covered repair. This is and was a band aid and not a genuine remedy. Ford took the cheapest way out of this and denying the repair now is shameful. There are thousands of complaints since then right here on this site. If my Escape had this B2278 code at the time it was brought in, the steering column and torque sensor would have been replaced free of charge. Yesterday while at the dealership I called the Ford customer service national line and spoke with a very courteous gentleman but he was unable to honor a goodwill claim for me. I just want my vehicle to be safe to drive. I believe Ford should repair anyones vehicle that only had a software update and not actual replacement of defective parts. Fords own site says there is no expiration date on this recall. Ironically, this morning I had my power steering again fail while driving this time at the 90 bend in my drive. The steering completely locked up while attempting the turn. The front of my SUV crashed into a frozen snowbank damaging the front. I also wacked my forehead pretty good because I was not wearing my seatbelt yet. I normally get out at the end of my driveway and check my mail before leaving so I don't buckle up until that point. I'm pretty upset by all of this to the point I will be late to work this morning in taking the time to write this back at home. I work for myself and am an Electrician PLEASE MAKE FORD FIXRead more

Very slowly a noise started on the passenger side of the engine and kept getting louder, didn’t know if it was a vacuum hose leak or something else. Finally the noise was very loud especially when accelerating, I took to my local Ford dealership to have them find the noise and let me know. 3 days later, I get a call from the service writer and he tells what the problem was, so I told I would be
... by to pickup the vehicle and he tells me that I can’t as the engine was taken apart on the passenger side. I told him, I didn’t authorize him to do that, only to find the noise, needless to say I was quite angry and I had no choice but to have them repair the exhaust manifold bolts which had broken towards the rear of the engine. After much discussion, he told me that this was a normal incident with this engine/vehicle combination due to heat buildup. I asked if there was a service bulletin on it and he played dumb and said no there wasn’t after telling me it happens a lot. To me this should have been covered under the long term factory warranty. The vehicle only had 61,500 miles on it. After hassling with him, I asked the price and it was going to over $6000.00, Again I am very angry, as I have no choice, and they end up replacing turbo parts that were just replaced 5,000 miles ago. I can’t believe how they handled it, no recourse and out of pocket $6,000. I made numerous calls to Ford in Michigan and got the total run-around. I really like this truck as it has served me well. Since, the service writer admitted that it was a continuous problem with this issue, as they have steel bolts going into an aluminum head, of course with heat there will be problems. I have heard of a few F-150 owners on a Ford website with the same issue and they ask the same thing, why not a recall? I would love to get reimbursed for all that money I had no choice to put out, as I would taken it to a certified mechanic that does all my work now! Total BS on the dealer and Ford!Read more

Loss of Use due to unavailability of safety recall parts I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern regarding the ongoing mechanical failures of our 2020 Ford Expedition Max. To date, this vehicle has undergone two major transmission interventions, yet it remains in an unsafe, undrivable condition due to a recurring powertrain defect and a high-risk safety recall. Our
... experience with this vehicle has been defined by persistent failures and significant loss of use: •April 2023: The vehicle was admitted to MOGF for transmission repairs, where it remained for three months for a complete teardown and rebuild. •May 2024: The transmission failed again with identical symptoms and required a full replacement. •Current Issue: We have now received a recall notice regarding an internal transmission bearing. The check engine light is currently active, indicating a powertrain fault. We have been informed that the necessary recall parts are unavailable, leaving us with a vehicle that Ford’s own documentation identifies as a "crash risk." The vehicle is currently affected by NHTSA Recall 25E-070 (Ford 25SB3) regarding a missing internal transmission bearing, which Ford identifies as a crash risk. Furthermore, the vehicle falls under the expanded NHTSA Recall 25V-628 (Ford 22S36) fire risk, which requires it to be parked away from my home. These cumulative risks make the vehicle unusable and constitute a failure of the manufacturer's duty to provide a safe productRead more
