The Ford Escape 2017 experienced a transmission malfunction involving delayed shifting, sudden jerking during operation, and difficulty shifting gears properly. Unusual noises were also coming from the transmission, along with ongoing symptoms indicating a clear mechanical and technical defect. This defect placed the driver, passengers, and other motorists at risk, especially during acceleration
... or while merging onto highways, due to the vehicle’s delayed response and the possibility of sudden loss of control or unexpected stopping while driving. Prior to the complete failure, several warning signs and recurring symptoms appeared, including vehicle jerking during driving, delayed or rough shifting, abnormal transmission noises, and in some cases the illumination of the Check Engine warning light. These symptoms began gradually before the problem significantly worsened.Read more

Hello, My vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ) is not operational due to coolant intrusion/corrosion. I was informed this issue is not covered by the Customer Satisfaction Program, but this failure matches a known problem affecting this model/year and should be reconsidered. Two months ago I took the car to Bob Allen Ford in Overland Park for a check-engine light. They replaced a coolant-related part, but the
... coolant intrusion was not discovered. Approximately 2,000 miles after that service the vehicle became undrivable. At the time of that visit I requested a bumper-to-bumper inspection and was told no. I am highly upset that a likely systemic issue was not identified or addressed, and that coverage has been denied despite the circumstances. Please have a supervisor or specialist call me to explain why coverage was refused, review the service and inspection history, and discuss options for goodwill, escalation, or repair assistance. I expect a clear explanation, next steps, and a timeline. While driving my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium, I felt a sudden popping sensation while applying the brakes and the brake pedal immediately went to the floor, resulting in major loss of braking ability. I was able to slowly and carefully get the vehicle parked before completely losing stopping ability. Brake fluid appeared to be leaking from the rear driver-side brake area. This vehicle previously expe
... rienced front brake hose failures related to prior Ford brake hose recalls. One front brake hose failed first, and the opposite front side later failed as well. Ford previously reimbursed me for one of those repairs after the recall became officially active. The current rear brake failure symptoms closely match Ford Recall 25S87 / NHTSA Recall 25V544000 involving rear brake hose rupture and brake fluid leakage in 2015–2018 Ford Edge vehicles. Landmark Ford in Tigard, Oregon and the Ford Customer Relationship Center have both confirmed that this repair is tied to the pending “advanced notice” rear brake hose recall affecting this vehicle platform, although the recall is not yet officially active. This failure created a serious safety hazard because the vehicle experienced sudden loss of braking, with no warning, while the vehicle was in motion creating a serious risk of collision, injury, or death to myself, my passengers, and others on the roadway because the vehicle could not safely stop under normal braking conditions. No prior warning lamps or brake failure warnings were observed before the incident.Read more

While driving at highway speed in 6th gear, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted into what appeared to be 1st gear without warning. Immediately afterward, the vehicle falsely indicated that it was in Reverse while still moving forward, and the backup camera activated during travel. The sudden downshift caused abrupt deceleration and created a significant safety concern due to the risk of loss of v
... ehicle control and the possibility of being rear-ended by surrounding traffic. The issue has occurred multiple times and temporarily reset after shutting the vehicle off and restarting it. During the most recent incident, the vehicle also experienced a delayed restart. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership, which retrieved diagnostic trouble codes P0706, P0707, and P1702 related to the transmission range sensor system. The dealership diagnosed failure of the molded leadframe/internal harness in the transmission main control, causing transmission range sensor faults and erratic shifting behavior. The dealership advised that the repair would cost approximately $4,000 and stated that the repair is not currently covered under the active Ford transmission recall. Prior to the failure, symptoms included intermittent erratic shifting behavior and false gear indication. No collision occurred, but the vehicle behavior created an unsafe driving condition at highway speeds. The failed component should be available for inspection through the servicing Ford dealership.Read more

... y while towing a large trailer at highway speeds. The vehicle was towed to a repair facility where it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump had catastrophically failed. The pump had developed a significant crack and released metal debris throughout the entire fuel system. This required extensive repairs, including: - Replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump - Replacement of fuel lines - Full fuel system cleaning, including the fuel tank The total repair cost exceeded $14,000 USD (near $20,000 CAD). The mechanic indicated that this type of failure should not occur under normal operating conditions. Additionally, the Ford parts dealer advised that the failed fuel pump could be returned for credit, suggesting the failure may not be consistent with normal wear and tear. This failure occurred suddenly, without warning, and resulted in a complete loss of power while driving, which I believe represents a significant safety concern.
