When using the rear camera while towing a trailer, the image is partially blocked by a persistent message stating “full view not available”. This creates a safety issue as it obscures the driver’s view of the trailer and/or the trailer load. It is critical to be able to monitor the trailer and the load during towing to ensure a hazardous condition is not developing. I believe the rear view
... camera is working as designed, that is I do not believe there is a defect or failure in the hardware. However the design of the message is the problem. If the driver needs to know that “full view not available” then the message should be moved to a different part of the screen to not obscure the view of the trailer.Read more

When accelerating, occasionally there is a hesitation. This becomes dangerous when accelerating from a side street onto a 55mph road when there’s an occasional break in traffic that I need to jump into. There’s been times where I got concerned when it hesitated and there was oncoming traffic. The other day I was going under 10mph around a curve and it hesitated so much, I looked at my gas gaug
... e, thinking I was running out of gas (but I had a half tank). I’ve seen complaints online about this problem. I’ve had it to two different dealers and they found nothing wrong. I’ve had this problem since I purchased it new and I now have 12K miles. Thank you! [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The contact called the Ford dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. An independent mechanic was also notified of the failure and the contact was informed that a drum in the transmission does not hold enough pressure which causes the transmission to fail. The contact stated that the manufacturer does not produce the part needed to repair the transmission; therefore, the transmission needs to be replaced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.Read more

When I am driving at a speed limit of 35-45 mph, there is a shutter in my transmission accompanied by a rattling noise. It only happens at that range of speed, below 35 and above 45 it seems to work just fine. If I have to drive a considerate amount of time at that speed, it does it constantly and I can't make it stop. It feels like the transmission will blow up. I have seen multiple articles
... and recalls for the torque converter in the 2016-2020 models, but apparently my VIN number isn't included, although the symptoms are exactly like the open recall symptoms of other Explorers. I have taken it to a transmission shop to get it test driven and diagnosed and they agreed that it did feel like the torque converter was slipping, but their advise was to rebuild the whole transmission since there wasn't any recalls specifically for my VIN number. It does not show any messages or have any warning lights about this issue on the car itself, I don't know if the computer recognizes these type of issues or not.Read more

I own a 2019 Ford Expedition with fewer than 100,000 miles equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle began experiencing a loud cold-start rattle, engine timing issues, and check engine light illumination. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Ford dealership with internal VCT/cam phaser mechanical failure affecting engine timing and performance. The dealership diagnostic identified trouble code
... s P0016, P0365, and P0369. The dealership also documented that the engine oil level and condition were within specification, indicating the failure was not caused by lack of maintenance or neglect. The dealership recommended replacement of all four VCT units and four VCT solenoids due to internal mechanical failure. This issue creates a serious safety concern because improper engine timing can cause loss of power, rough operation, stalling, or sudden engine performance issues while driving. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting Ford vehicles equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine, particularly involving cam phasers, timing components, and VCT systems. A major internal timing-related failure on a vehicle with under 100,000 miles should not occur under normal operating conditions. I am submitting this complaint because this defect may affect the safe operation and reliability of the vehicle.Read more

However it still has the same codes as initially in relation to lack of fuel. I don’t feel safe driving the car as now I’ve broke down twice same problem and fear it’ll keep happening and I may not get so lucky as to not get seriously injured as I cannot move it from the road. The vehicle has coolant intrusion, and engine has been reported knock. Before the incident, I called the Bloomfield office to book an appointment, I was put on call waiting but no response, I booked the appointment online, no confirmation. I then booked another appointment and went to Springfield, Vauxhall Ford plant when I received the Recall paper. The agent that responded to me told me that the
... parts are not available and I have to wait for the part. I told them that the engine light is coming up and that maybe it is due to recall issue. They told me that I will pay $275 for diagnosis, and if any part or repair is needed, it will be additional charge. I told them to provide me with the temporary solution suggested by Ford on the paper. The agent told me that if they provide that, I will not get the intended part when it is available . I went to a local shop where they help me to change one of the misfired plug, change the oil, and add to the coolant because the level was low, and asked me to come back few days later to do the proper checking/smoke test. I packed the car, and on the appointment date, I tried to start the car, the car did not work again. I call my local mechanic to check for me, find out that the coolant has went down again! He said that the car has coolant intrusion and has affected the engine. I need to replace the engine now!Read more

I received Safety Recall 23S65 in May of 2025. As of now, May 14,2026 parts are still NOT available for repair. Ford was aware of this safety issue well before May of 2025, yet they do not seem concerned at all to make parts available to dealers to repair this defect. This should be considered well beyond any reasonable time frame for Ford to have corrected this problem.
