On December 27, 2025, while using the vehicle’s Automated Park Assistant feature to reverse into my assigned parking space in my enclosed residential garage, my 2025 BMW X6 failed to detect a fixed concrete structural column directly in its path. Rather than braking or alerting me (the driver) to the obstacle, the vehicle accelerated into the column, causing rear bumper damage. No warning was is
... sued by the parking collision system prior to or during impact. My car was subsequently inspected at an authorized BMW dealership (Braman BMW, Miami). The dealership pulled backend diagnostic data and forwarded it to BMW North America Engineering for review. BMW Engineering confirmed that a sensor related error code was thrown and logged at the moment of the incident while the Automated Park Assistant was actively engaged. Engineering attributed the code to “sensor noise/overwhelm” but somehow concluded it was unrelated to the failure to brake or detect the obstacle. BMW North America’s official position is that there is no defect with the vehicle and has closed the case. No physical testing of the parking sensors, cameras, wiring, or software was performed at any point despite my request. Both Braman BMW in Miami and BMW North America have declined to provide me with the full diagnostic data, error codes, or engineering analysis reviewed internally. This incident represents a potential safety risk not only to me as the sole driver of this vehicle but to pedestrians and bystanders present during automated parking operations.Read more

Incident date: Mar 18, 2026
Description of Safety Defect: While operating the vehicle at approximately 25-30MPH and make a right turn, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of power/engine stall, accompanied by a "Check Engine" light and a "Reduced Engine Power" notification. This resulted in a near-collision on a public roadway. The vehicle's steering and braking response were significantly compromised during thi
... s event, creating an immediate life-safety hazard for the driver and passengers. Dealer/Manufacturer Response: The vehicle was recently in the possession of McGovern Buick GMC Westborough for service. Despite the vehicle exhibiting an active Check Engine Light (CEL), the dealership staff pressured the consumer to take delivery of the vehicle and drive it on public roads. The service advisor admitted in writing that the CEL was active but insisted the vehicle was "feel free to drive." Furthermore, the dealership attempted to falsify internal corporate safety notes to claim the consumer "insisted" on taking the vehicle, masking a known mechanical defect. This represents a willful suppression of a safety defect by a franchised dealer, which led directly to a hazardous operating condition. Injuries/Crashes: No crash occurred, but a near-miss was documented. Passenger experienced severe emotional distress due to the sudden loss of vehicle control in traffic.Read more

My 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid experienced a complete electrical system failure at approximately 15,933 miles, resulting in a no-start condition. The failure involved the vehicle’s electrical distribution system. An authorized Ford dealership (Autos Vega Ford) diagnosed that voltage was not reaching the Body Control Module (BCM) due to a fault in the battery cable and wiring system. The repair re
... quired replacement of the 12V battery, high-voltage battery cables, and wiring components. The failure was confirmed by the dealership (Autos Vega Ford) and required multiple jump starts, but the vehicle would not consistently restart after being turned off. There were no prior warning indicators before the failure. The issue occurred suddenly without warning. This failure created a safety risk because the vehicle could not be started or operated. If this failure occurred in an unsafe or remote location, it could leave occupants stranded and unable to move the vehicle. Service records are available through the authorized dealership (Autos Vega Ford). This appears to be a premature electrical system failure at low mileage involving critical components such as battery cables and wiring. Similar issues involving electrical systems, battery defects, and wiring faults have been reported in Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles. The vehicle became inoperable without warning and required towing/assistance to reach a repair facility. A sudden no-start condition in a hybrid vehicle can create hazardous situations if it occurs in traffic, at intersections, or in remote areas where assistance is not immediately available.Read more

At this point I was approaching a traffic light and stopped at the red light. Decided to return home and attempted to turn right on red at the light. When I hit the gas to turn, the gas engine did not engage, the car limped forward a few feet in electric mode, and the car started beeping with the “Check Hybrid System. Stop Safely” warning. If I had less less space when turning right, or the car would have a moved a few feet farther, I would have been hit in the intersection by an oncoming car. Thankfully I had left a lot of space and my car did not pull that far into the intersection. I turned the car off, when I turned the car on again, the gas engine engaged, and I was able to slowly drive the 1 mile home. Car was then towed to the dealer 2/18 for repair.
