I am on my second 2026 Honda Passport. The first one was taken to dealership 6 times (once at red rock Honda in Colorado and 5 times at Cleo bay in Texas) for a failed part in the steering wheel. The airbag and other parts were replaced and would fail again afterward. I had to replace it with another of the same vehicle because of so many problems and no suitable repair. My new 2026 Honda Passport
... started having same issue. I took it in and they replaced the whole steering wheel and then after about a month it failed again. There have been clicking and loose spring noises in steering wheel and now the brake. The dealership is requiring that I drive the car from my home to there (92 miles one way) and is refusing to tell me that this seemingly unknown issue is not a safety concern. My case numbers with Honda Corporate are 15880428 for the first car and 16204405 for the second car.Read more

I don't think Tesla ever did the steering bolt recall per SB-20-32-002 on my vehicle. I had all the bolts fail, with obvious corrosion, and the motor separated from the rack causing a loss of power steering while moving. You can see where the bolt physically failed and the corrosion both on the remainder of the bolt and the entire mating surface of the motor to the steering rack. Going back thr
... ough my service records, it is only listed once on 9 June 2021 with notes of "Parts not available" hidden in the comments. Tesla is telling me this was done, with comments about a January 2021 visit, but I never took it to them in January (I did in February) and the February visit has no mention of the recall. Regardless, one of two things happened: either Tesla didn't do the recall and I fell victim to the issue or the recall was done and the new, updated bolts still failed due to corrosion and exposure to a corrosive, winter environment. I still suspect the former for the reason that no visible evidence of the protective wax coating required by the TSB could be seen on the motor or steering rack. Perhaps they swapped the bolts but didn't apply the wax, which allowed for continued corrosion? I won't know for sure until they continue with the repair, but I'm worried they are going to toss the parts and sweep this under the rug and foot me with the full bill. Regardless, I want this documented that I had a failure despite the recall so that any other owner with a similar problem can see this record.Read more

My 2017 Kia Sorento with approximately 175,000 miles experienced engine failure involving the engine and engine cooling system. The vehicle began showing symptoms including engine shudder, reduced acceleration, and a check engine light. These symptoms worsened and were diagnosed by a Kia dealership as internal engine damage, specifically a failure in cylinder 4. The dealership advised that the eng
... ine would require full replacement at an estimated cost of approximately $9,600. The failure creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle experiences loss of power during acceleration, which could increase the risk of an accident, especially when merging into traffic or driving at highway speeds. The issue was confirmed by an authorized Kia dealership, Community Kia, after performing diagnostic testing. The dealership completed multiple recall and service campaigns but determined that the engine was not eligible for replacement because a required diagnostic code associated with the knock sensor detection system did not appear. To my knowledge, there is no clear documentation confirming that the knock sensor detection system update was installed on the vehicle prior to the engine failure. If this system was not installed, the diagnostic code required to qualify for engine replacement may not have had the opportunity to trigger. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed warning symptoms including a check engine light, engine vibration, and loss of power. These symptoms appeared before the dealership inspection and diagnosis. This complaint is being submitted due to concern that the engine failure occurred despite known issues associated with this engine type, and that the failure creates a potential safety risk due to sudden loss of power while driving.Read more

On March 19, 2026, at approximately 1003 hours, I was traveling north on the [XXX] located in [XXX] . I was traveling in the number two lane and my speed was approximately 78 MPH when all of a sudden I had a loss acceleration power and my Kia EV9 began to decelerate rapidly and my dashboard began to flash a loss of power warning. I had no control over my accelerator and could not speed up. Due to
... the rapid deceleration I had to take evasive action as northbound highway traffic was flowing smoothly. My clearest path was to move to the lefthand shoulder, which required me to cross the number one lane and the carpool lane. During this time, my Kia EV9 continued to decelerate. Once I got my vehicle onto the shoulder I placed my vehicle in park at which time my dashboard highlighted the front storage compartment of my vehicle in red. I assumed that meant my frunk was open. I exited my vehicle and checked my frunk and indeed found that my frunk was open and the first stage of the two-stage latch system was disengaged. Had the second stage of the latch system been disengaged it could have resulted in catastrophic consequences due to me traveling at highway speeds on a multilane highway. To be clear, I did not touch the interior compartment frunk release button and my keys were sitting in my left cargo short pocket located on the side of my left leg. I had also been traveling for approximately five to seven minutes and had entered the highway via the northbound [XXX] . I came to a stop at approximately the [XXX] area, which is approximately two miles north of [XXX] . I am aware that electric model Kia vehicles have a safety measure in which if the frunk or trunk is open the vehicle computer system does not allow the vehicle to engage in drive or reverse mode. I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving my 2021 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine. The vehicle has experienced a recurring problem related to the engine wiring harness. While driving, the vehicle will unexpectedly stall without warning. At the same time, there is an immediate loss of power steering assist, significantly reducing the
... ability to safely control the vehicle. This creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. The failure appears to be linked to a defect or malfunction in the engine wiring harness, which may be causing intermittent electrical interruptions to critical engine systems. There were no prior warning signs sufficient to prevent the incident. This issue poses a substantial safety risk not only to the driver and passengers but also to other motorists. Sudden engine shutdown combined with loss of steering assist increases the likelihood of a crash. I believe this may be a systemic defect affecting other vehicles of the same model and configuration. I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to investigate this issue and determine whether a recall should be issued. The central harness adjuster (A-lock mechanism) integrated into the seat shell of my Nuna PIPA rx (Model: CF12508600GRN, DOM: 2021/09/17) has suffered a mechanical failure. The internal locking teeth fail to remain engaged with the harness webbing. As a result, the harness fails a standard "tug test" and slides loose under moderate tension without the release button being depressed. Safety Risk:
... The harness is the primary restraint system. Because the mechanism fails to maintain tension, the child is not properly secured. In the event of a collision or sudden braking, the harness will loosen, leading to a high risk of occupant ejection or severe injury. The mechanism also exhibits "hair-trigger" sensitivity, where minor contact with the adjuster area can cause the straps to slacken. Inspection & Manufacturer Response: The unit is available for inspection. I have formally reported this failure to the manufacturer (Nuna Baby Essentials). Despite documenting the harness slippage, the manufacturer has refused to provide a free safety remedy, instead demanding a payment of $195 for a replacement shell. This is a failure of a safety-critical component on a seat that has not yet reached its 7-year expiration date. This issue appears identical to the defect noted in NHTSA Recall 24C002 for other Nuna models.Read more

On March 12, 2026, my 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid, owned for less than 1 month at the time and purchased on 2/14/2026, sustained a star chip to the windshield during normal driving conditions. While the physical damage itself was minor, the vehicle is equipped with Subaru EyeSight, a camera-based advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that relies on precise optical clarity through the windshield
... . I'm now required to have the windshield replaced, because the manufacturer and dealer requires it. According to both Subaru and the vehicle’s owner’s manual (page 15), windshield replacement must be performed using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) glass to ensure proper calibration and safe operation of the EyeSight system. My insurance provider is attempting to authorize the use of aftermarket (non-OEM) windshield glass despite this. This presents a serious safety concern. The EyeSight system controls or assists with critical safety functions including pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. Aftermarket glass can introduce optical distortion or variation that can interfere with camera calibration and system performance. Using non-OEM glass in a vehicle designed around camera-based safety systems creates a risk that these features may not function as intended, potentially increasing the likelihood of a crash. This directly impacts federally recognized vehicle safety systems. There appears to be a gap between manufacturer safety requirements and insurance replacement practices. Consumers are being placed in a position where cost-saving measures may override safety-critical specifications. I'm requesting that NHTSA open a formal safety investigation into the use of non-OEM (aftermarket) windshields in vehicles equipped with camera-based ADAS systems. I further request that NHTSA establish clear regulatory guidance or requirements ensuring that windshield replacements follow manufacturer specifications, including the use of OEM glass.Read more

The turn signal will fail to activate or activate randomly, preventing other drivers from knowing when I am changing lanes and increasing the risk of collisions. The headlight also intermittently dims or shuts off at night, reducing visibility and creating dangerous driving conditions. This issue also affects driver-assist safety systems, including blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning, which rely on proper signaling and visibility. When the lighting system malfunctions, these systems are less effective, increasing the risk of unsafe lane changes. The problem is ongoing and reproducible, especially after exposure to moisture. The malfunction occurs intermittently but frequently enough to make the vehicle unsafe. The vehicle has not yet been formally inspected, but inspection is being pursued. There were no warning lights prior to failure. The first symptom was condensation inside the headlight, followed by increasing failure of the blinker and headlight. This issue should be urgently investigated for a recall to prevent accidents, injuries, or fatalities.Read more

Two sets of Kumho Solus TA 31's (195/65 R15 91T) experienced rapid tread wear issues. The problem and safety issue has been confirmed by Fred Beans Kia of Mechanicsburg, PA, but with hassles to do so. I believe this matter actually effects consumers nationwide, which leads to additional high replacement costs as a result of product quality. Consumers are effected by not just the manufacturer, b
... ut by those who knowingly sell & promote the products, such as dealerships like Fred Beans, while aware of the defects or who should know about the defects yet fail to take adequate measures to properly rectify the situation or warn consumers. Kumho Tire has been involved in many lawsuits, primarily related to tire defects which caused serious injuries & multi-million jury award and even trademark infringement where tires are allegedly being falsely marketed & sold as new. I believe Kumho is engaging in breach of warranty where the product they sell fails to meet promised quality or performance standards, while engaging in false advertising that misleads the consumer. They engage in lies in their marketing. In addition, there is negligence with Kumho where the manufacturer fails to exercise reasonable care during production. In addition, there is strict liability where the manufacturer should be held accountable for producing an inherently dangerous product. This has also been outlined in lawsuits & ongoing legal challenges faced by Kumho Tire over product quality. Dealership service managers even deny there is a problem, claim it's normal, and say they can't do anything, unless pressed or are caught in a lie. It appears dealerships, sellers of tires & Kumho are all involved in a scheme that creates additional high costs for consumers to properly resolve the problems. Especially since it's a hassle for people to file complaints or time consuming & monetarily challenging for most to fight the battle with dealerships like Fred Beans, or tire manufacturers, like Kumho.Read more

My vehicle contains a defective high-voltage lithium-ion battery that is subject to internal short circuits caused by deviations in the battery supplier's production process. According to NHTSA and Mercedes-Benz's own recall documentation, an internal short circuit in a battery cell can trigger a thermal event — that is, a vehicle fire — whether the vehicle is parked or being driven. Criticall
... y, NHTSA has specifically warned that there may be no external warning or dashboard indicator when the thermal event occurs while the vehicle is parked and shut off. This defect is not theoretical. Mercedes-Benz first became aware of vehicle fires caused by this same battery defect through reports of confirmed fire incidents in other markets. NHTSA has formally acknowledged that the defective battery "may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving," increasing the risk of serious bodily injury or death. I am the parent of toddlers who reside in my household. My vehicle is regularly parked in proximity to my home and family. The risk of a sudden, unannounced vehicle fire — whether in my driveway, garage, or on the road — poses a direct, immediate, and unacceptable threat to the safety and lives of my young children. I cannot continue to operate or park this vehicle without placing my family in danger. Mercedes Benz is coercing me into getting a new Lease contract by using the defective battery as a leverage when in fact they need to take the car back and they are notRead more

While driving 65mph in my 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate on Interstate 270 in Hilliard, Ohio my chrome grill deflector just flew off and hit my windshield. It appears to me that the mounting fractured and it looks like manufacturing defect. Loo

GM is doing a formal investigation to see what liability the have for it because the vehicle is now considered a “lemon”. There were no external (dashboard) warnings before the events, but, there may have been internal ones that require a professional grade scanner to detect. The permanent Ucode, which causes a communication blackout, never appeared in the vehicles memory, on a scanner, until AFTER the local GM franchise conducted “repairs” (unsuccessfully) to fix the vehicle. (It wouldnt start, which is often a symptom of a Permanent UCode. The GM investigation will determine if the dealership knew the safety liability, (the permanent Ucode) and they tried bypassing or ignoring it, or, if they CAUSED the safety defect. Also, the vehicle is now showing a Permanent PCode, which means it is now a potential fire hazard.Read more
