My dashboard, specifically the area with my odometer and gas mileage reader, has been flickering and scrambling numbers. This seems to be an issue with many 3rd generation Honda Fit models (2015-2020). Head gasket failure diagnosed by Wittmeier Honda in February of 2026 Chico Ca. Car was initially throwing misfire codes, battery, fuel pump, then fuel injectors were replaced. Took it back to the dealer because car would sputter, dash is blacking out and I'm unable to indicate the speed at which I'm traveling, white smoke from exhaust, misfire, poor gas mileage, car nearly stalling in intersection
... . Car has been having this issue or possibly other issues contributing to this for nearly 25-30k miles. It is important to note that fuel pump was recalled in this model, car performance has significantly declined over the last 25k miles. This car is well maintained as in; regular oil, changes, transmission flushes, rear differential fluid change, tire rotation every 5-7k miles, brakes and rotors changed nearly every 30k front and back, fixing all issues as they arise. I say all of this so that there is a clear picture of the car maintenance and the issues it is having despite the proper care. This car has had several issues from about 150k miles. In my opinion this is premature for a car this well maintained. Though this car has had several issues over that past year I will put the most pressing and scariest date, the time it almost stalled in an intersection.Read more

RE: Failed Radar Braking on a 2024 Hyundai Palisade What component or system failed or malfunctioned .. . . On Feb 8th, 2026 I was driving in to Lakeland FL on I-75 N, in the right hand lane, near a green stoplight following a car 2 lengths ahead. The radar cruise control was slowing me down, keeping up with the car in front. Another driver suddenly cut in front of me from the far left lane. T
... he cruise slammed on the brakes. Within seconds he took a hard right to catch an exit ramp. The radar cruise then accelerated at an extremely high rate, and no Braking, causing me to hit the car in front of me, which was stopped about a car length away at a red light. Our air bags, 3 on driver's side, 1 on the passenger side deployed and my wife and I appeared to have no injury. The Hyundai front end crumpled in, trapping us in the car. The police pried open the doors to get us out. The car was totaled. We rented a car through our insurance and continued our 4 day journey home. On the 3rd day my right leg started turning black and blue. By the 4th day my left leg started doing the same. On returning to Stevens Point I went to the ER. The Dr. said the bruises would take several weeks to clear. And it is not unusual for the bruising to appear several days later. On March 9th both my legs developed large hematomas. The right one just above the ankle, the left just below the knee. A week after that the right hematoma developed 2 deep open wounds and I had to go for wound care involving twice daily bandage changes and then a wound vac. The Dr. says it will be a long recovery. I would have been better off without the leg airbags. Two people in the front car claimed whiplash and were taken to the hospital for observation. The police said they did not appear to be injured, but better safe than sorry. We were trapped in the car and couldn't get out till the Police got there 20 minutes later. By then the ones in the front car had been taken away.Read more

The infotainment system in my 2022 Kia K5 began failing on or around early December, 2025, at approximately 44,000 miles and has continued to worsen. The vehicle is currently at approximately 47,000 miles. The screen displays the Kia startup screen repeatedly and does not fully load, flashing, becoming unresponsive, and ultimately causing distraction while driving. Audio may still function, but k
... ey features such as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and auxiliary input do not work. The backup camera will either not function at all or will flash intermittently while reversing. This failure affects safe operation of the vehicle because it limits access to vehicle controls and creates distraction while driving due to the malfunctioning display. It also impacts visibility and usability of integrated systems that are expected to function reliably. The problem has been reproduced consistently and was evaluated by a Kia dealership. The dealership was unable to determine a clear cause for the failure but recommended full replacement of the infotainment system at a cost of approximately $6,700. There were no clear warning messages prior to failure. The issue has persisted despite attempts to reset the system and power cycle the vehicle. This appears to be a premature failure of a critical electronic system that should not occur at this mileage.Read more

Both of those incidents were reported to NHTSA. There had been a software recall for NHTSA 23V744000 for this very problem in 2024 Chevrolet Trax, but my VIN was not included in the safety recall for increased risk of crash. I brought the Trax to the dealership after the third incident. They did a software update on 25-NA-071. I hope this remedies the problem.Read more

On March 23, 2026, my vehicle experienced a sudden and simultaneous failure of multiple critical safety systems without any prior warning. The alerts displayed included: Automatic Emergency Braking unavailable, traction control disabled, stability control disabled, and additional driver-assistance features becoming unavailable. This incident created a serious safety hazard, as the loss of these s
... ystems significantly reduces vehicle stability and braking assistance, increasing the risk of loss of control, especially at highway speeds or in adverse weather conditions. In addition, the front-facing camera exhibits fogging and reduced visibility during cloudy and rainy conditions, which further impacts the reliability of safety and driver-assistance systems. Based on my research, similar issues have been reported by other Tesla owners, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident but a potential pattern defect. I am concerned about the safety of operating this vehicle and request that this matter be investigated for potential defects affecting critical safety systems.Read more

TO: USAA Claims Department; Jaguar Land Rover North America Customer Care CC: Jaguar Land Rover Parsippany; Jaguar Land Rover Glen Cove; Jaguar Land Rover Freeport I am writing to formally report a serious safety hazard involving my 2015 Range Rover Sport and to request immediate intervention. Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2015 Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: Approximately 1
... 27,000+ I purchased this vehicle in 2015 from Jaguar Land Rover Parsippany, New Jersey, and have consistently maintained it through authorized Jaguar Land Rover service providers. Since as early as 2017, I have reported recurring engine, throttle, and coolant-related issues. As documented in my prior complaint to Land Rover corporate dated April 2017, I raised concerns regarding service integrity and handling of my vehicle (Exhibit A). In September 2017, I reported that the vehicle would not accelerate properly, required restarting to function, and exhibited drive mode and throttle issues (Exhibit B). By 2021, Jaguar Land Rover Glen Cove service records confirmed coolant leakage from engine cross-over pipes, repeated low coolant warnings, and engine-related concerns requiring repair (Exhibit C). Additional diagnostics identified check engine light activation, restricted performance mode, and recommended repairs that were not resolved (Exhibit D). Despite these documented findings, the vehicle was repeatedly returned to me without full resolution of the underlying mechanical defects. On January 22, 2025, Jaguar Land Rover Freeport documented that repairs could not be performed due to “pre-existing engine codes” and identified the need for a potential engine replacement exceeding $42,000 (Exhibit E). At no point was I clearly advised that the vehicle was unsafe to operate or that continued use could pose a serious safety risk. I was not instructed to discontinue driving the vehicle. They didnt pull or work on anything just looked around listened and plugged in a code reader. The code reader found some codes that had to do with 3rd stage valve timing issues and VVT. And 1 or 2 other codes. But they didnt know exactly what was wrong. I had my oil changed 1 more time to see if maybe that was the issue. It did not fix the issue. I called the dealership to make a appointment. I brought it in and get a call that the cam shaft need to be replaced. It was in the shop for about a month and when they said it was ready. I went to pick it up and as I was pulling out of the dealership parking lot. The check engine light came on and I drove back and it had the same codes. And now it is being worked on again. I was driving at night when I got a headlight system error message on my instrument panel and I noticed my driver side headlight was not on. A few seconds later the light came back on and a minute or so later it went off again and came back on and I got the error message again. It came back on and has worked pretty much since but I have seen it flickering at night on a few occasions. The next da
... y when it was light out I looked at both headlights and noticed a lot I mean a lot of condensation inside the headlight assembly. I know some fogging and some light condensation is normal on these LED lights but the amount inside the driver side headlight is not normal. And I was lucky enough to have the error and light go off and on in a fairly well lit area so thankfully I was not in an accident or driving on road that’s not well lit. There’s clearly a defect in the sealing of the headlight that’s allowing that much water in. And not having a headlight working because of an error caused by water that can disable my visibility especially on the driver side to due to the headlight not being sealed properly. There is not physical damage like a crack or anything in the housing of the headlight. And since the whole headlight needs to be replaced since it’s LED that’s $2200 before labor. And there didn’t appear to be anything wrong with the headlight no condensation when I looked at it on the car lot when I bought it on 3-4-26. I tried to have my Nissan dealer repair/replace it using the Endurance Apex Unlimited warranty I bought when I purchased the car but they won’t cover it due to a faulty seal. I’ve seen a couple post about the same side headlight on others 2019 Maxima’s with the same issue so this doesn’t appear to be a one off. And I would think headlights going out from moisture and condensation causing errors to the electric contacts controlling the headlights would be a serious safety issue that could potentially cause bodily harm or even death from an accident.Read more

The WABCO EBS Trailer Modulator (Part No. 4801070010), a 12-volt RSC valve installed on dry van trailers, intermittently retains residual pneumatic pressure in one delivery port without any active brake command. This causes a single wheel-end brake chamber to remain partially applied during highway operation, creating a sustained brake drag condition that is completely invisible to the driver —
... no warning lamps, no fault codes, no dash alerts, no detectable cab vibration or smell during early heat buildup. Over the course of normal highway operation, frictional heat accumulates at the affected wheel end beyond the thermal capacity of the drum and brake shoe assembly. The result is brake-shoe ignition and a trailer fire at highway speed, with no opportunity for the driver to detect or respond before flames are established. To date, 17 trailer fires have been reported as a result of this defect, resulting in loss of the trailer unit and sometimes full cargo. Approximately 1,200 trailers are believed to be equipped with this valve. All affected trailers have exhibited excessive brake wear consistent with chronic brake drag caused by the same pressure retention fault. Separate incidents have also resulted in severe wheel-end overheating, destroyed brake drums, seized components, and damage to axle hardware without progressing to a full fire. Third-party brake timing tests confirmed the anomalous pressure retention is isolated to the valve delivery port — not downstream brake hardware — and changes when electrical power is applied to the valve, implicating the internal solenoid or ECU mechanism. Independent inspections confirmed all other brake components were in proper condition, isolating the defect to this valve. The valve manufacturer has been contacted. No meaningful response has been received. The component is available for inspection upon request. Multiple fires are shown below, along with the valve.Read more

After a prolonged delay in obtaining replacement parts, a replacement component was installed; however, the replacement part was defective, leaving the vehicle in the same inoperable condition and restarting the repair process. As a result, the vehicle has been out of service for over three months. The failure of a drivetrain-related system, combined with the installation of a defective replacement part, raises concerns regarding reliability and potential safety risks. A sudden loss of system function while the vehicle is in operation could present a safety hazard. The extended delay in repair, along with the defective replacement component, raises concern that this may not be an isolated incident but could indicate a broader component or system reliability issue. I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious and ongoing safety issue with my 2017 Honda CR‑V equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. While driving, the vehicle experienced sudden and unexpected power loss, creating a dangerous situation, particularly while in traffic. During this incident, the vehicle also began emitting visible smoke, indicating a serious mechanical or engine-relate
... d failure. At the same time, the dashboard and instrument panel malfunctioned or failed, limiting my ability to receive warnings or diagnose the issue while operating the vehicle. Over the past 23 months, I have brought this vehicle to three different Honda dealerships due to warning lights, abnormal behavior, and ongoing concerns related to performance and reliability. Despite multiple service visits, the dealerships were unable to properly identify or resolve the underlying issue. Temporary explanations or repairs were provided, but the problem persisted. It was only during the most recent dealership visit in the last week that the issue was finally properly identified, after months of unresolved complaints and warning indicators. By that time, the vehicle had already experienced a serious failure involving power loss, smoke, and dashboard malfunction. The prolonged inability to correctly diagnose and repair this vehicle, combined with the sudden power loss and system failures, created a significant safety hazard. This failure could have resulted in a crash and placed vehicle occupants and others at risk. I believe this issue may be related to a broader defect affecting Honda CR‑V vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbo engine. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter due to the severe safety implications and the pattern of unresolved warnings over an extended period.Read more

The vehicle's horn becomes completely inaudible during heavy rain, particularly during downpours. This is a serious safety concern as the horn is a critical safety device for alerting other drivers and pedestrians. The issue has occurred repeatedly since the vehicle had approximately 7,060 miles on it and continues at the current mileage of 28,617 miles.\n\nThe issue was first reported to the manu
... facturer's service center on February 20, 2025, at 7,060 miles. The service center documented the concern as the horn not working after rain. A Low Voltage Circuit Integrity Check and miscellaneous labor were performed (Invoice #3000S0012397168). However, the manufacturer's service center stated the horn was \"working as designed\" at the time of inspection and advised the owner to monitor the issue and record video. The problem was not resolved.\n\nThe issue has been reported to the manufacturer's service center on multiple subsequent occasions, but they have been unable to reproduce it because the horn functions normally in dry conditions. The defect only manifests during rain and downpours, making it difficult to demonstrate on demand at a service center.\n\nThis is a significant safety hazard. During heavy rain, when visibility is already reduced and driving conditions are more dangerous, the horn -- which is one of the most basic and essential safety devices on any vehicle -- is rendered completely nonfunctional. The owner feels powerless in dangerous situations when the horn cannot be heard. The horn is required safety equipment under FMVSS 571.108, and a horn that fails during adverse weather conditions represents a serious defect.Read more

I am writing to report a serious safety concern involving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that resulted in a child being locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside the car. On March 25 2026, after parking and turning off the vehicle, I exited the driver’s seat with my key fob inside my purse, which remained in the front of the vehicle. I then walked around to remove my daughter from
... the back seat. During that time, she climbed into the front seat and pressed the interior door lock button, locking all doors. My daughter has autism and is not able to follow instructions or unlock the vehicle on command. As a result, she was locked inside the vehicle with the key fob present inside, and I was unable to gain access from the outside. The vehicle did not prevent the lock from engaging, nor did it allow me to open the door despite the key being inside the vehicle. This situation required emergency assistance (911) to safely remove her from the vehicle. I understand that many vehicles have “lockout prevention” features; however, in this case, the system did not account for a vulnerable occupant inside the vehicle. Allowing the vehicle to be locked from the interior while the key fob is inside—and without any external override—creates a significant child safety risk. I am requesting that Chevrolet review this design behavior as a potential safety issue, specifically: - Why the vehicle allows interior locking when a key fob is detected inside - Why there is no external override to unlock the vehicle when the key is present - Whether a software update or safety feature enhancement can address this risk This is not just a convenience issue—it is a safety hazard that can lead to dangerous outcomes, especially for children or individuals with disabilities. Please confirm receipt of this concern and advise whether this issue has been previously identified or is under review.Read more
