I am submitting this complaint regarding an active fire‑risk recall on my Mercedes‑Benz EQB and MBUSA’s refusal to provide a safety remedy. My vehicle was previously placed under a no‑drive instruction due to the fire‑risk recall. MBUSA attempted a remedy, but that remedy failed, and the safety impairment remains. Despite this, MBUSA Customer Care has declined to confirm or deny a safet
... y‑related repurchase and has stated that their goodwill options (loaner, rental, storage, and cash considerations) are their final position. These goodwill measures do not address the underlying safety defect. I have repeatedly asked MBUSA to confirm whether they are denying a safety‑related repurchase under the active fire‑risk recall, the prior no‑drive instruction, the failed remedy attempt, and the ongoing safety impairment. They have refused to answer this question and have stated there is no further escalation within their department. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter, as the manufacturer has not provided a safety remedy and is refusing to address the safety‑related repurchase question. Thank you for your attention to this safety concern. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I slowly put my foot on the brake and suddenly heard a noise under the vehicle. It sounded like loud grinding. As pulled forward I looked in the rear view mirror and didn't see anything in the road that may have fallen out from under my vehicle. When I pushed on the gas I was suddenly accelerating forward very quickly without my control. This was maybe one or two seconds after I heard the noise.
... I hit the brakes and nothing happened. My only choice was to hit the back end of the other vehicle as there were pedestrians on either side. The vehicle was continuing to accelerate even after I tried to put it in park. I was worried if the car in front of me moved, that I would keep going. I even pressed the emergency brake button twice and nothing worked. Nothing was working at all. I called the police. They told me to try turning off the car. I pressed the button to turn the car off, but it took several pushes to work. I could hear that the rpms lowered extremely slowly. Once the police came they didn't see anything in the road at all. Vehicle was moved to a body shop and when they turned on the car it immediately started revving really loudly again.Read more

Office of Defects Investigation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE Washington, DC 20590 Re: Safety Defect Complaint — Ram ProMaster (2018–2025) — Cowl Water Intrusion into Engine Compartment To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report what I believe to be a serious, systemic, and unresolved design defect in the Ram ProMaster van, affecting
... model years 2018 through at least 2025. I am requesting that the Office of Defects Investigation open or expand a formal investigation into this matter. Nature of the Defect: The windshield cowl on the Ram ProMaster is designed in a manner that permits significant water intrusion directly into the engine compartment. Water enters through the cowl seam and surrounding gaps, bypassing any drainage system, and flows onto critical engine and electrical components including but not limited to: the serpentine belt and pulley system, the engine fuse box, transmission components, and wiring harnesses. I brought my vehicle to two separate authorized Ram dealerships. The second dealer confirmed — based on testing conducted on multiple ProMaster vans dating back to 2018 — that this water intrusion behavior is consistent across the model line. In other words, the dealer has effectively confirmed that this is not a defect isolated to my vehicle, but a design characteristic of the ProMaster platform itself. This confirmation does not reassure me. It alarms me. A design that has permitted consistent water intrusion onto safety-critical engine and electrical components across a major commercial vehicle platform for over a decade is not an acceptable engineering standard. Given the size and weight of these vehicles — many operated commercially and carrying passengers or heavy cargo — the consequences of power steering loss, electrical failure, or mechanical failure are severe. We have tried dealing with Stellantis as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIRead more

Vehicle displayed a “power brake loss” on the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid instrument cluster upon trying to start it. After not being able to turn the vehicle on, I exited the vehicle to ensure my key fob was in my pocket. All electronics worked. The towing technician let me know that Toyota put in an extremely low voltage battery in my Hybrid. He expressed how the standard for these vehicles is AGM or high performance batteries to ensure stable voltage for hybrid management, and compatibility with regenerative systems - using the right part prevents electrical issues. My brakes are connected to my electrical system. By putting in weak batteries and below standard expectation is putting their consumers at many risks with electrical malfunctions. I was informed by the dealer after getting it replaced this is the Toyota Manufacturer issue and I had a technician even agree the weak batteries will only help in getting consumers back to a dealer quicker.Read more

On December 3, 2025, Volkswagen of XXX performed an intake manifold recall repair on our 2017 Tiguan (VIN: [XXX] ) while the vehicle was under factory warranty. Our independent mechanic discovered physica

A new OEM water pump was installed but failed immediately due to an underlying pressure issue originating underneath the intake manifold. The vehicle has been at VW of South Charlotte since February 11, 2026 — seven weeks — with no root-cause diagnosis or repair. The dealership falsely documented OEM parts as aftermarket, refused to diagnose the vehicle, and the service manager made his final decision based on text messages rather than any inspection. Fact; Honda extends the duration to repair the manufacturing defective part. Fact; Honda denies claims ( even when vehicle safety is a concern) after the 10 year deadline Fact; most average 2014 cars driven 12,500 miles per year have roughly 125,000 miles in 10 years and the manufacturer error was realized most likely due to usage. My 2014 now 12 years old has just recently realized the manufacturer error at 81,000 miles and Honda will not honor repairs for their errors. I own a 2019 Ford F-150 equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle has developed a loud rattling noise during startup along with an illuminated check engine light. The vehicle was diagnosed by Family Ford of Enfield as having a failure in the timing system, including cam phasers, timing chain, tensioners, and guides. The estimated repair cost is approximately $5,000. This issue appears
... to be a widespread and well-documented problem affecting 2017–2020 Ford F-150 vehicles with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The failure of cam phasers and timing components can lead to improper engine timing, rough operation, and potential engine damage. I am concerned that this condition could worsen over time and potentially lead to engine failure while driving, creating a safety risk.
