1) Major transmission failure, fluid leakage, and visible undercarriage corrosion on a newly leased car with under 3K miles on it. Additional: Losing vehicle function. Car would not shift into gear and would not move. Car is currently at the dealership in which it was leased. 2) Yes, huge safety concern. Losing vehicle function while traveling on a bridge—with limited ability to safely stop pose
... d a serious risk to our safety and to others on the road. 3) Yes, problem has been confirmed by dealer. 4) The vehicle has not been inspected at this time by anyone other than the dealership in which it was leased. 5)While accelerating at approximately 30–35 mph, the vehicle began emitting a high-pitched whining noise, similar to sound of a remote-control toy car. The vehicle then started jerking back and forth during acceleration. Shortly after, the “Check Engine” light illuminated. We activated our hazard lights, reduced speed to approximately 10-20 mph, exited the bridge, and pulled into an emergency stopping area. There was no prior warning that there was a problem.Read more

The backup camera continues to fail to turn on. The car will intermittently report “Camera is temporarily unavailable”. This persists for minutes at a time. I cannot figure out how to get the camera to turn on when this happens. It already received the OTA “fix” for this but it did not fix the issue.

I am reporting a recurring structural failure of the Sky One-Touch power top assembly on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Since August 28, 2024, the vehicle has been out of service for a cumulative total of 62 business days across seven separate repair attempts. Safety Risk: The failure involves the tensioning system and internal springs of the power top. The defect has progressed to the point that visibl
... e daylight is present through the gaps between the roof assembly and the vehicle body while the top is fully closed. At highway speeds (55–70 mph), this gap causes the roof to lift and oscillate significantly. This creates a severe driver distraction and poses an unreasonable risk of the assembly further destabilizing or detaching from the vehicle while in motion, endangering occupants and trailing traffic. Dealer Misconduct & Repair History: During the third repair attempt, a service associate confirmed the loss of tension in the straps and springs. However, the technician subsequently refused to document these findings. The dealership omitted from their report to Stellantis that they performed unauthorized 'readjustments' and 'screwed the assembly back in' to temporarily mask the defect. This deceptive reporting prevents an accurate warranty history and deliberately avoids Lemon Law accountability. Despite these 'fixes,' the structural seal remains compromised. The vehicle is currently unsafe for highway operation."Read more

Vehicle has experienced repeated electrical system failures affecting engine operation, safety systems, and interior electronics from April 2025 through April 2026. Details: April 2025 (under warranty): Vehicle lost power and died. Dealership replaced batteries. December 2025: While driving, multiple warning lights (check engine, blind spot, lane departure, forward collision, accident avoidance)
... flashed repeatedly. Battery died and was replaced by AAA. Vehicle taken to dealership due to safety concerns; dealership found no issues. March 2026: Same warnings occurred again while driving. Vehicle lost all power while stopped at a red light. Hazard lights did not work. Gear selector knob rotated freely and could not be put in park. After opening the hood, vehicle restarted but windows, powered seats, and infotainment stopped working. Dealership replaced fuse array. April 2026 (~3 weeks later): Vehicle would not start. After accessing battery under passenger seat, vehicle turned on with alarm and lights flashing. Same warning lights reappeared while driving. Interior electronics (windows, seats, infotainment) remained non-functional. Safety Risk: Complete loss of power in traffic, inability to use hazard lights, failure of driver-assistance safety systems, and inability to shift into park create significant risk of crash or injury. Inspection/Repair: Vehicle inspected multiple times by dealership and AAA. Batteries and fuse array replaced. Issue persists and root cause is UNKNOWN. Warning Signs: Repeated warning lights prior to failures, including check engine and multiple safety system alerts.Read more

Here’s a clean, strong NHTSA synopsis that sticks to their rules (no personal info, clear safety framing, and specific details): --- **What happened:** The heated seat system in a 2024 Ford F-350 Super Duty Platinum exhibited excessive and uneven heat output in both the driver and passenger seats. While in use, the seat heaters produced a burning sensation at the skin level for both occupants
... , requiring the heaters to be turned off to avoid injury. The condition appears to involve the seat heating element and/or temperature regulation system. During a subsequent seat cover replacement, the heating element was exposed and showed visible signs of localized overheating, including distinct heat concentration patterns and degradation of the surrounding foam material. The component is available for inspection upon request. This condition presents a safety risk due to the potential for skin burns during normal operation. It also raises concern about possible overheating of seat materials if the system remains active for extended periods, such as during remote start or unattended operation, which could increase the risk of material damage or combustion. The issue was experienced multiple times and is not isolated to a single seating position. The problem has been visually confirmed by an installer during disassembly of the seat, though it is unknown if a dealer has formally documented the condition at this time. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior indicators before the excessive heat condition occurred.Read more

Now that insurance knows what happened, I don't know if they will intervene. hopefully. No warnings went off or messages. Airbag did not deploy. I believe that this is an unintentional acceleration, especially occurring twice now. Dealership says car is safe and they will monitor. I guess it means when we have another incident. Hopefully not fatal to us or anyone else. Dealer says it is a transition from hybrid electric to gas. But I have had this car 4yrs10months and this never happened until now. And the transition never has thrown me back in my seat or had the engine rev. The battery was replaced last August because of bad cell and recall on it for fire hazard. On March 2, 2026, the airbag warning light and seat belt warning light suddenly illuminated on my vehicle’s dashboard. As a result, I was pressured into paying for the repair out of pocket, despite this being a brand-new vehicle and a clear safety-related malfunction. I also contacted Toyota Motor North America to escalate the issue. Unfortunately, they declined to provide assistance or override the dealership’s decision, leaving me without proper support. I am reporting a serious and ongoing safety issue with my Ram 1500. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of complete power loss while driving, including at highway speeds. During these events, the vehicle abruptly shuts down without warning. The dashboard lights illuminate (including the battery and check engine lights), followed by total electrical failure. The engine turns off, the rad
... io and displays go dark, and I lose power steering and braking assist, then the emergency brake engages, making the vehicle extremely difficult to control. These incidents have occurred more than once and are unpredictable. In at least one instance, I was forced to pull over on the highway after the vehicle lost all power while in motion. The loss of steering and braking assistance created a dangerous situation, especially as I have had my children in the vehicle. After one incident, the vehicle was jump-started and the battery was replaced; however, the issue recurred. A mechanic previously reported that no diagnostic codes were found and no problem could be identified, despite the severity of the failure. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for further evaluation. This issue appears consistent with other reports of Ram 1500 vehicles experiencing sudden loss of motive power and electrical failure. The intermittent nature of the defect and lack of diagnostic codes make it difficult to detect, increasing the safety risk. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle, as it can shut down without warning while driving. I am requesting further investigation into this issue due to the significant risk of crash or injury.Read more

A week or so after taking the car in for an oil change, I was on the highway and heard a rattling sound coming from the engine. There were no indicator or warning lights from the dashboard. There were no low-oil in

Separately, this week, while driving in the city, the engine again started making rattling sounds and completely shut off forcing me to pull off the road. Again, prior to the shut off there were no indicator lights. I was able to pull to the side of the road safely. I tried to restart the car and it would idle roughly befor the engine shut off again. After waiting 30 minutes, I checked the oil to see if the previous cause was the culprit, but this time the oil was still full. After 45 minutes, I was able to restart the car and drive home. I am submitting this report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regarding a recurring safety issue with my 2018 Tesla Model 3 involving unintended “phantom braking.” On multiple occasions, my vehicle has abruptly decelerated without any apparent obstacle or hazard present. These incidents have primarily occurred while using driver assistance features such as Autopilot and Tr
... affic-Aware Cruise Control on highways and well-marked roads under normal driving conditions (clear weather, dry pavement, consistent traffic flow). The braking events are sudden and significant, creating a serious safety risk—particularly when other vehicles are following closely. In several instances, the deceleration was forceful enough that I believed a rear-end collision was likely. There were no visible triggers such as overpasses, shadows, vehicles merging, or roadside objects that would reasonably justify the system’s response. Below are details to assist your investigation: •Driver Assistance Features Active: Just cruise control, not auto pilot on these occasions •Weather/Road Conditions: Clear and dry •Frequency of Occurrence: This is an ongoing problem that has occurred dozens of times in the past few years. The March 30th incidents were only the most recent ones. •Any Warning Messages or Alerts: No This behavior appears unpredictable and difficult to anticipate or mitigate, increasing the risk of a crash. Given the potential safety implications, I respectfully request that NHTSA review this issue to determine whether it reflects a broader defect affecting other vehicles. Based on warranty expectations of approximately 50,000 miles, the apparent performance failure at only 15,257 miles raises serious safety concerns. The vehicle is currently at a collision repair facility and is available for inspection. The issue has not been reproduced, and a manufacturer inspection is pending. The vehicle has been inspected by law enforcement and insurance representatives. There were no warning lights or alerts related to traction, stability, or tire performance prior to the incident. As a result, the vehicle was rendered undrivable, required towing, and has been under repair for over a month, causing significant inconvenience and financial impact. I am requesting a formal investigation and review for appropriate resolution.Read more
