Significant issues with adaptive headlights having a large shadow in middle of beam as well as two smaller dark shadows at end of beam that are very distracting. It also dims very low at times severely reducing my visibility especially at different grades of the road. The headlights were so bad from the first week I tried to get the sales manager at Ciocca Subaru in Allentown to take this car back
... and to return my old car with no luck. I fear for safety driving this forester and I see it is a common complaint online for the 2025. Oncoming cars it shrinks the headlights significantly impairing my visibility for my side of road especially since in Pennsylvania we have a significant amount of deer that get hit and need clear visibility ahead of us. My coworker drove with me the one night and said how difficult it was for her to see at times and said I had to log a complaint because she was concerned for my safety. No car should have such significant shadows or adjusting the beam so significantly. I am afraid I will get into an accident because of the visibility of these headlights.Read more

MY 2019 HONDA PASSPORT WITH JUST OVER 100K MILES JUST HAD COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND HAS REGULARLY HAD RANDOM HARD SHIFTS SINCE THE DAY I GOT IT AND IVE BROUGHT THE ISSUE UP TO THE DEALER EVERY TIME IT IS BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND THE DEALER DOES NOT YET KNOW HOW MUCH ITS GOING TO COST. THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS NOW AND WONT TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT PART OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, HOW IT FAILED, OR WHAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED IT. I WAS ONLY TOLD THEY ARE WAITING TO HEAR FROM PARTS AND ITS GOING TO BE PRICY! FOR SUCH A YOUNG CAR IT SHOULD NOT NEED THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT THIS POINT IN ITS LIFE. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE ISSUE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY HONDA. THIS WILL CAUSE MAJOR ISSUES FOR PEOPLE LIVING THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK. Incident date: Aug 21, 2025
I am reporting a recurring and dangerous brake system failure in my 2010 Honda Odyssey. Intermittently, when the vehicle is first started, the brake pedal becomes completely stiff and cannot be depressed at all. During these events, the brakes are effectively non-functional until the condition resolves, creating a serious safety hazard. This issue occurs without warning and has happened on multip
... le occasions. This defect is especially dangerous because it prevents normal braking operation at startup, increasing the risk of a collision if the vehicle is moved or if immediate braking is required. I have attempted to repair this issue extensively. The vehicle has been inspected by three separate repair facilities, including a Honda dealership. The following components have been replaced in an effort to resolve the problem: •Master cylinder •Brake booster •Rotors •Brake lines •ABS system Despite these repairs, the issue persists unchanged. I have spent over $2,500 attempting to fix what appears to be a systemic defect. The Honda dealership suggested the issue may be caused by air entering the brake lines when the vehicle is parked on a slope. However, this explanation is not consistent with normal automotive function, and similar vehicles do not exhibit this behavior under the same conditions. Given the repeated failure of major brake system components to resolve the issue, I believe this represents a defect in the vehicle’s braking system that could affect other vehicles of the same model. I am submitting this complaint due to the serious safety risk posed by intermittent loss of braking function and request that this issue be investigated.Read more

In September 2025, an authorized Kia dealership performed recall SC284XM (HECU electrical short fire risk) on this 2012 Kia Sorento. During the repair, the dealership disconnected the battery, resetting the PCM/ECU and clearing all OBD-II readiness monitors including the oxygen sensor monitor. Despite driving hundreds of miles afterward, the O2 sensor monitor has not reached a Ready state. A malfu
... nctioning or unmonitored oxygen sensor creates a direct safety risk — the PCM cannot properly regulate the fuel-air mixture, increasing the risk of catalytic converter overheating, engine damage, and potential fire. The vehicle cannot pass California's mandatory smog inspection and the registration has lapsed, forcing the owner to operate an unregistered vehicle or go without transportation entirely. The dealership has verbally confirmed this is a known model-year defect — the root cause is a software condition requiring a PCM reflash, not achievable through normal drive cycles. This is the second occurrence; the identical failure happened in 2022 after a prior battery disconnect on this vehicle. The vehicle is now held at the dealership 11+ days with no update, no loaner, and an ~$460 estimate for repairs caused entirely by Kia's own recall service. A vehicle actively subject to a fire-risk recall (SC284) was returned to an owner in a condition where the engine management system cannot be properly monitored — compounding the original safety risk rather than resolving it. All this an yet a no no-cost remedy has been issued. This vehicle has been subject to five NHTSA recalls: SC200 (engine fire), SC147 (engine bearing), SC284 (HECU fire), SC172 (fuel pipe fire), and brake-shift interlock defect. Simultaneous complaints filed with Kia Consumer Affairs and CA Bureau of Automotive Repair (Ref: XXX). My 2018 Ford Escape equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine experienced complete engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders on 3/29/26. This is a known design and manufacturing defect in the engine block, documented by Ford in Technical Service Bulletins 19-2375, 19-2346, 22-2322, and 22-2134, and addressed under Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12 (GTDI Engine – Short Block
... Replacement After Coolant Intrusion). Ford performed a preventive software update under CSP 19B37 on this vehicle, confirming that Ford identified this VIN as having the at-risk engine. Despite this measure, the engine failed from the exact defect 19B37 was designed to prevent. The engine block’s thin-walled cooling passages between cylinders cracked, allowing coolant to enter the combustion chambers, causing misfires, overheating, and catastrophic engine failure. This engine failure occurred without adequate warning while the vehicle was in motion. Sudden loss of engine power on public roads poses a serious safety risk to the motorists and pedestrians. Ford’s own TSBs describe this as a progressive failure, but coolant loss is internal and may not trigger warning lights until the engine is already critically damaged. Ford has addressed this defect through multiple TSBs and a Customer Satisfaction Program for some VINs, but has not issued a formal recall covering all affected vehicles. Thousands of 2013–2019 Escapes, Fusions, Edges, and Lincoln MKC/MKZ vehicles with 1.5L, 1.6L, and 2.0L EcoBoost engines remain on the road with this defect. A class action lawsuit has been filed regarding this issue. I urge NHTSA to investigate and require a formal recall. This vehicle was purchased used from an authorized Ford dealership at 54,677 miles ( 7/2/2022). The dealer had full access to Ford’s OASIS system and did not perform the CSP 21N12 short block replacement or disclose the known coolant intrusion defect. The ford dealership said that this issue is extremely rare and they have never seen it before. After receiving this information from the dealership I discovered that the 2019 ford ranger has had several recalls with the areas at issue in my vehicle. The recalls are under number 25V685000 (Engine block heater), and 20V137000 (Fan). Here is the full diagnosis from the ford dealership attached below: VERIFIED CUSTOMER CONCERN FOUND VEHICLE TO HAVE CEL LIGHT ON, AND MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS PERFORMED DIAG AND FOUND SHORT CIRCUIT PRESENT. TRACED SHORT FOUND COOLING FAN CLUTCH FAILED AND HARNESS RUBBING IN CLUCH ASSEMBLY FOR COOLING FAN The fan lowers the temperature of the engine. The cooling fan motor is an electric motor that turns the fan blades. When the vehicle is in traffic or under heavy load, the engine relies on the fan to cool itself. Some vehicles may use multiple electric fans for better control of the cooling system. For the most part, electric cooling fans are controlled by the same computer that controls the engine. However, in some engines, the fans are turned on and off by a temperature-sensitive switch mounted in either the radiator or elsewhere in the cooling system. The brake system control module, engine control module, and vehicle stability control system have repeatedly failed across 24 months and 9 repair attempts at two authorized GMC dealerships in Tennessee. As of March 17, 2026 the vehicle has 27 active diagnostic fault codes including U160F and U1610 (brake system control module lost communication on both CAN buses), U1611 (engine control module lost

All components are available for inspection at Beaman GMC in Antioch, Tennessee where the vehicle currently remains in an undrivable condition. Safety risk: Vehicle has stalled on the highway with my family including young children in the car. Brakes have randomly engaged over 100 times with nothing around and also failed to engage when needed. Stability control is disabled. These are active safety failures confirmed by GMC's own diagnostic scans. The problems have been confirmed by both Darrell Waltrip GMC and Beaman GMC across 9 visits. GMC's own Technical Assistance Center (Case XXX) was involved and could not resolve the defects. The vehicle was returned with more active codes than at drop-off after 57 consecutive days in GMC custody. Two unresolved GMC safety recalls are open on this vehicle — L87 engine loss of propulsion (N252494003) and brake fluid leak detection failure — directly related to the reported defects. Warning codes have been present and documented since October 2023 beginning at 1,381 miles. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Engine lost power. I put the gas pedal to the floor and it would barely go. Finally, after barely moving out of the intersection, the car lurched forward and I managed to drive it home. I was stuck in a very busy intersection with a car that would not go. All I wanted to do was get out of the intersection because it is a very busy street and I was afraid I was going to get hit. I noticed that
... there was a knocking sound when the RPM got above about 2000-2500. I took it to the dealer and they said that I had a bad piston rod and that I needed a new engine. There was a check engine light that came on, but it later went away.Read more

I purchased a used 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Within about 2 weeks it broke down while I was in the far left lane of the freeway. The car suddenly stopped accelerating and made a very loud knocking noise. Thankfully I was able to put on my hazards and make it to the right shoulder without getting into an accident but as soon as I pulled over it shut off and the panel lights all came on. Evidently there
... was a recall on an engine rod and the previous owners advised they were not aware of it. Hyundai has declined the repair on the recalled engine several times and their reasons keep changing. First they said I was missing records (admittedly I was missing one record but then provided it to them), then they stated excessive neglect due to the condition of the valve train (I saw pics of the valve train and is in good condition), and now they state because the KSDS wasn't installed. From what I understand, being the second owner, if I can prove the upkeep of the vehicle the extended waranty should cover the repair. I even have the letter from the car mechanic stating the vehicle was maintained and in good condition. It seems a lot of good people are getting declined for repairs on these faulty engines. I have many more documents I could provide showing all of the services done and communications with the company. Due to the size limit I included these ones for your review. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.Read more
