The vehicle experienced a complete loss of communication with the ABS control module, resulting in multiple warning lights and loss of ABS and related safety systems. The failure is consistent with Volkswagen Recall 45F2, which describes internal ground and solder failures in the ABS module. Prior to total failure, the vehicle exhibited intermittent warning lights and an ABS fault code (01130 –
... Implausible Signal) in 2021 but was told the car was not under recall by dealer. After the condition progressed, the module became non-communicative and no longer generated fault codes. This is consistent with internal failure preventing communication. The failure affects braking-related safety systems, including ABS and stability control, and creates a potential safety risk, particularly during emergency braking or low-traction conditions. The condition has been confirmed by both a Volkswagen dealership and an independent Volkswagen/Audi specialist. A dealership diagnosis in 2025 once again confirmed that the ABS pump and module had no communication and required full replacement. Independent electrical testing verified that all external wiring, power, and ground inputs were functioning properly, indicating the failure is internal to the ABS module. Despite this, the manufacturer denied recall repair based on the absence of diagnostic fault codes. However, the lack of communication prevents the module from generating fault codes, creating a situation where complete failure does not qualify for recall repair. The failed ABS module is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request.Read more

There is a loud clicking sound coming from the front axle(s) while steering around corners. It began within 30 days of taking possession of the new vehicle in mid-April 2025 and has continued to this day, April 6, 2026 with 11k mileage on the car. Furthermore it has become progressively worse, whereby early on the steering had to be near the fully clocked left or right position, now it only has to
... be about 30% in either direction for the clicking to be audibly and vibrationally noticeable. Two Honda dealerships near Orlando FL have been informed of the issue as well as a case opened (and closed by Honda without my consent) Honda Auto Customer Service. No action has been taken to correct it. I am consistently advised it is a "known issue" and that the vehicle is "safe to drive". Long story short, Honda is well aware of the issue, but has completely failed to apprise its customer base of any pending solution. They are content to advise us to continue to operate the Prologue and suffer the issue. I've given Honda a year to correct it. I am now concerned to operate the vehicle for fear one or more of the front half shafts is going to come apart at speed.Read more

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 26V123000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the parts to do recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling at a stoplig

The vehicle lost power, and the hazard lights were inoperable. The contact stepped outside the vehicle to direct traffic around the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the alternator and battery had failed. The battery and alternator were replaced. The error codes illuminated again after having the vehicle repaired. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled. The dealer informed the contact that a PCM software update had been completed; however, the parts for the repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); was not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issues. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.Read more

My Cybertruck’s Power Conversion System failed at ~65,000 miles. I received a PCS alert, AC charging became unavailable, and the vehicle displayed charging faults. The repair required major disassembly of the tonneau, bed, and air suspension and cost $7000 because it occurred after warranty. Why This Is a Safety Defect: The PCS is a critical component that handles onboard AC charging, DC-DC con
... version to the 48V system, and power delivery. Failure can strand drivers, prevent charging, and (as seen in related drive-inverter recalls) contribute to sudden loss of propulsion while driving. This Is a Widespread Issue: PCS failures are occurring frequently (“left and right”) in Cybertrucks, especially early production models. Owner forums and polls show dozens of identical failures, with some samples reporting 18–40% affected. Many owners face $2,000–$7,000 repairs out of warranty. Tesla issued a limited recall for related drive inverters (NHTSA Campaign 24V-832) that can cause sudden power loss, but no recall covers the broader PCS defect despite the clear pattern. I strongly urge NHTSA to investigate this common defect immediately and require Tesla to issue a full recall for affected Cybertrucks, including free replacement of the Power Conversion System for all owners. My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus is exhibiting a persistent metallic rattling and grinding noise originating from the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and the propeller shaft interface. The noise is most prominent during acceleration and coasting at speeds under 20 mph. Confirmed through Dr. Auto LLC, in Warren, OR. That it is in fact PTU unit attached to the propeller shaft. Plan to go through a deal
... ership soon. This failure mirrors the symptoms described in NHTSA Recall 23V-302 (FCA Recall 01C). Although my specific VIN is currently not included in this recall, the mechanical symptoms—specifically vibration and grinding at the PTU output—indicate a premature failure of the input shaft splines. This presents a significant safety risk, as the failure of these splines can lead to an abrupt loss of motive power while in motion and a loss of the "Park" function, which could lead to an unintended vehicle rollaway. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate whether the current recall scope should be expanded to include additional 2019 Jeep Cherokee units, such as mine, that were manufactured with the same defective PTU components. Im afraid to lose power to my wheels while im driving with young kids in my vehicle and I am afraid to lose parking function that could injure someone or cause property damage.Read more

This complaint is a follow-up to NHTSA complaint number 11729095. Since submitting the original complaint, the issue has continued and is now occurring while the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle is experiencing intermittent electrical and communication failures affecting multiple systems. The issue began approximately three weeks ago after completing a normal drive and has persisted since that
... time, occurring randomly and without warning. Both the main battery and auxiliary battery have been replaced; however, the condition remains unresolved. Current symptoms include: •Multiple warning messages and warning lights activating simultaneously while driving (including “Service Antilock Brake System” and “Service Shifter”) •Loss of communication between multiple control modules •Fault codes that temporarily clear but return •Instrument cluster instability and erratic system behavior Power steering assist becomes intermittent during these events, making steering significantly more difficult, particularly when navigating curves or operating in heavy traffic. This creates a serious safety hazard due to reduced vehicle control. Diagnostic trouble codes associated with this condition include multiple communication-related faults (U-codes), indicating loss of communication between critical control modules. The condition may temporarily improve when the auxiliary battery system is bypassed and the battery sensor is disconnected, but the failures consistently return. The issue is ongoing, intermittent, and reproducible. No accidents have occurred to date; however, the condition presents a clear and increasing safety risk. Photographic evidence of warning indicators and system faults occurring during vehicle operation is available. Root cause remains UNKNOWN but is suspected to involve the auxiliary battery system, battery management system, wiring, or vehicle communication network.Read more

I am reporting a recurring safety-related defect involving driver-assistance and steering-wheel controls on my 2022 Toyota Sienna Limited, VIN [XXX] ry 8, 2026, I brought the vehicle to Parkway Toyota in [XXX] bec [XXX] tion” warning appeared and cruise control stopped working. The dealer diagnosed the issue as related to the 12V battery, replaced the battery, and advised that the condition was
... resolved. The same malfunction later recurred. I returned to Parkway Toyota on March 18-19, 2026 for the same problem. I reported that the issue had reappeared after driving in cold conditions in Canada and that when the vehicle was warm there were no warning lights. The dealer diagnosed DTC U042381 (“invalid data received from instrument panel cluster”) and replaced the hybrid vehicle control ECU. I was told the repair was complete. Within about two days, the identical “LTA Malfunction” warning returned again and cruise control was again disabled. In addition, a broader failure then developed involving the steering-wheel-mounted controls: the steering-wheel buttons stopped responding, the instrument display became stuck on one screen and could not be changed, the cruise-control buttons stopped functioning, and the radio volume could no longer be changed from the steering wheel. This appears to be an intermittent but recurring defect affecting driver-assistance functions and vehicle controls while driving. The vehicle has now had two repair attempts for the same general condition, and the problem has not been resolved. Repairing dealer: Parkway Toyota, [XXX] . My wife and I use this vehicle daily, including to transport our kids to school. Every day we face the impossible choice of putting our children in a vehicle the manufacturer itself says could catch fire or lose all power without warning. I reported this to the dealer, Westbury Jeep, on February 10, 2026. They acknowledged the danger but said that replacement vechicles can only be provided by the lessor, Stallantis. I then wrote to Stellantis's executive team. The only response came from [XXX] , Customer Care & Experience Executive Referrals Manager [XXX] , [XXX] ), who offered to cover two lease payments and a gas card. She asked me to send my lease information so Stellantis Financial Services could follow up. I sent it. Stellantis Financial never responded — not a call, not an email, nothing. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Stellantis's post-recall conduct and contact [XXX] regarding my case (XXX XXX). Despite acknowledging a life-threatening defect with no fix, Stellantis continues to collect $590 per month in lease payments while leaving my family in danger. The vehicle experiences intermittent loss of power and unstable acceleration while driving at normal speeds (approximately 45–55 mph). The vehicle will surge, hesitate, and fail to maintain consistent speed, creating an unsafe condition in traffic. While driving, the vehicle does not consistently respond to throttle input and may unexpectedly lose acceleration. This creates a risk of being rear
... -ended or being unable to safely merge into traffic. The condition occurs during normal driving and has progressively worsened over time. Diagnostic testing indicates transmission-related faults involving pressure control and internal speed monitoring. This issue affects the safe operation of the vehicle and appears consistent with known transmission problems reported for this vehicle model. Supporting documentation has been provided, including manufacturer service program records indicating this vehicle was previously subject to a known transmission-related defect condition.Read more

Ongoing Electrical Failures (2024 Lincoln Nautilus) This vehicle has experienced repeated and unresolved electrical system failures despite being brought in for service at least seven times. The issues remain ongoing and impact both safety and reliability: 1. Rear driver-side window defect – window reverses and will not remain closed, creating a safety and security concern. Multiple repair atte
... mpts have failed to resolve the issue. 2. False reverse braking alerts – system triggers warnings (“Reverse Brake Assist not available”) and audible alarms when no obstacles are present, creating a potential safety hazard. 3. Intermittent display failure – panoramic display screen goes black while driving, reducing driver awareness and functionality. 4. Rear hatch malfunction – requires repeated attempts to open; previously attributed to battery drain, but not permanently resolved. 5. Lighting system failure – exterior and interior approach lighting no longer activates with key fobs, indicating continued electrical system malfunction. 6. Forward Collision Warning – alarms go off when no oncoming vehicles are present. 7. Lane Departure Warning – goes into action when not leaving lanes causing vehicle to correct itself. Despite numerous repair attempts, these defects persist, indicating a systemic electrical issue. In my opinion, this raises serious concerns regarding vehicle safety, reliability, and manufacturer accountability. A permanent resolution has not been provided by Lincoln customer client care and denied Lincoln buy back.Read more

Incident 1 (Loss of Propulsion in Traffic) - 12/16/25 The vehicle failed to restart immediately after the auto start-stop system attempted to re-engage the engine. Upon attempting to accelerate, the engine did not restart, resulting in a complete loss of propulsion while in active traffic. The vehicle became temporarily inoperable and unresponsive, creating a hazardous condition with elevated risk
... of rear-end collision and inability to safely clear traffic or intersections. Incident 2 (Failure to Start – Reliability Concern) - 4/1/26 On a separate occasion, the vehicle failed to start entirely upon initial startup (first use of the day). The engine did not turn over as expected, rendering the vehicle inoperable. This incident raises significant concerns about system reliability and dependability, particularly given its occurrence independent of the auto start-stop event. Safety Concern: The first incident demonstrates a critical safety defect involving unexpected loss of propulsion in live traffic conditions. The second incident, while occurring at startup, indicates a broader pattern of failure affecting the vehicle’s ability to reliably start and operate. Together, these incidents suggest a potential defect in the starting/ignition or auto start-stop system that may compromise safe vehicle operation and increase the risk of crash or stranding.Read more

Component: Engine/Powertrain/Electrical System Incident Description: I am reporting a recurring, life-threatening "Loss of Motive Power" (Dead Pedal) in a 2024 Hyundai Tucson (Alabama-built). On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to respond to throttle input during high-risk maneuvers, specifically while merging into 45+ MPH traffic. The vehicle "chugs" and stalls, refusing to exceed 15 MP
... H despite full accelerator depression. This defect leaves the vehicle and its occupants stranded and defenseless in the path of oncoming high-speed traffic. Technical Context: This vehicle is currently subject to NHTSA Recall 23V-526 (Hyundai Campaign 246) for electronic controller damage that can cause "CAN communication disruptions." I believe the "Dead Pedal" failure is a direct result of these communication disruptions between the engine and transmission control modules. Furthermore, Hyundai has issued TSB #24-AT-001H-1 for "Hesitation when accelerating," yet the authorized dealer (Ed Voyles Hyundai) has been unable to remedy the defect after 84 cumulative days out of service. Safety Risk: This is not a convenience issue; it is a critical safety failure. The unpredictable nature of the power loss makes it impossible to safely judge gaps in traffic. The vehicle effectively becomes a stationary object on active roadways without warning. Manufacturer Response: The manufacturer has been formally notified via certified legal counsel. Despite 79 consecutive days in the current repair attempt (since Jan 16, 2026), the manufacturer has failed to provide a fix or acknowledge the severity of the safety risk. An informal third-party evaluator attempted to dismiss the claim despite the vehicle's documented inability to maintain motive power. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate the adequacy of Recall 23V-526 and TSB #24-AT-001H-1, as these measures have failed to resolve this life-threatening "Dead Pedal" condition in my vehicle.Read more

However, my engine in my 2023 LT Trail Boss started knocking on Friday, March 20, 2026 (at 22,500 miles) after I picked up my children from school. Thankfully it started as I pulled into my driveway with them so they weren’t in any danger. No
... loss of power on the truck or warning lights visible. However, it was loud enough and odd enough for my [XXX] olds to even notice the sound in the cab. It was dropped off at the dealership on that Saturday morning and the GM dealership was finally able to look at it on Wednesday, March 25th and confirmed what was expected. The advisor stated the engine will need to be replaced due to the engine heading towards bearing/crankshaft failure. I am still currently without my truck as of today (April 4th) with no repair date in sight. I will say that the dealership service advisor has been very good about communicating about its status. However, he stated that he has had no luck finding an new engine and is unable to give a timetable in getting one. He did offer to start a PO for a rental car through enterprise. He stated they are not giving loaners, but could get a rental car. He also stated that it would not be a truck due to GM only giving $50 per day towards a rental. So here I sit currently without my truck. I see multiple reports about the engines being on back order and even the replacement engines are failing within the fist 500 miles. Some reports indicating they are on the third or fourth engine. Something needs to done about getting these trucks bought back by GM. They have clearly failed with this engine and are replacing the failed engines with the same thing! It is a well documented manufacturing flaw and design! I am thankful it occurred near my home. The defect may result in a vehi
... cle fire while driving or parked. The recall was issued around February 9, 2026, and remains unrepaired with no remedy available. The manufacturer has indicated a permanent repair may not be available until approximately December 2026. I have been instructed to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk, yet I am still expected to operate the vehicle and transport my family. Additionally, I received third-party notification advising that my vehicle should not use DC fast charging due to this safety risk, significantly limiting normal use. Mercedes-Benz USA offered a monetary payment conditioned on waiving all current and future legal rights while the vehicle remains unrepaired. I have not been provided a guaranteed loaner or replacement vehicle, and the dealership has requested return of the loaner. Due to these limitations, I am incurring and expect additional costs and loss of normal vehicle use, including reduced access to charging benefits and potential fuel or charging expenses. This situation requires continued use of a vehicle with a known fire risk, no remedy, and restricted functionality without reliable alternative transportation. The vehicle will then after several seconds regain acceleration. Several times it has sounded like the vehicles starter engaged. This is a random occurrence and has happened approximately 10 times. There are no error codes and the dealership states th

Driving down the freeway and it began raining. The wipers worked and then they just stopped working and it was pouring in the rain. I had to pull over because I couldn’t see. This has happened two other times. In having my vehicle inspected it showed no problem with the switch or wiper motor. The infotainment system also frequently locks up and restarts even after the recall was fixed.

I am filing a complaint regarding a 2021 Kia Sportage that experienced catastrophic engine failure, leaving the vehicle non-drivable despite regular maintenance and documented oil changes. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealership, located at 402 NJ-35, Keyport, NJ 07735, for evaluation. On or about March 17, 2026, I was informed by the dealership that coverage for engine replacement
... had been denied. At that time, I was not provided with a clear or sufficient explanation for the denial. Due to the lack of explanation and assistance, I escalated the matter to Kia corporate and was assigned a case manager. On March 30, 2026, I was contacted by my assigned case worker from Kia corporate, Marcia, who confirmed that my request for engine replacement remained denied. Again, no specific or sufficient explanation for the denial was provided, despite my attempts to obtain clarification. I made multiple efforts to understand the reason for the denial and to resolve the issue directly with both the dealership and Kia corporate. Despite these efforts, I was not offered a reasonable solution, nor was meaningful assistance provided. The vehicle ultimately stalled out in the middle of a highway. As a result, I am now left with a non-drivable vehicle and a significant financial burden, including an outstanding loan balance on a vehicle that cannot be used. I am also aware that there have been reported concerns, recalls, and investigations involving engine issues in certain Kia vehicles. While I understand each case is reviewed individually, this raises concern that my situation may not be an isolated incident and warrants further review. I believe this outcome is unfair given my documented maintenance history and the severity of the engine failure. I am requesting assistance in obtaining a fair resolution, including reconsideration of the denial and/or financial assistance toward the cost of engine replacement.Read more

We have replaced the battery twice and likely will need a third battery soon. I have learned that there is a known issue with the DCM trying to connect using 3G. This is causing a parasitic drain on the battery. The vehicle will fail to start. This has occurred many times over the last few years. We have just learned of the problem.

Both power sliding doors are malfunctioning, with the left side being critical. The dashboard intermittently flashes "Door Open" and "Left Sliding Door Problem" warnings during travel, regardless of speed or road conditions (highway, low-speed, and cornering). A certified Honda technician (Case #16203079) confirmed DTC B2037 is stored for the left sliding door ratchet switch. The diagnostic report
... explicitly states the rear latch is failed/stuck in the open position, resulting in a half-latched state that "CAN OPEN WHILE DRIVING." The right door also shows intermittent issues with the ratchet switch and pinch sensor. Despite this documented, life-threatening safety defect, American Honda has refused repair assistance. I have video evidence of the warnings flashing while in motion.Read more

I own a 2020 Honda Accord EX-L with a 1.5T turbo engine. The problem happened on January 20, 2026, when my car had 66,988 miles. While my husband was driving it, the engine warning light came on, and the car suddenly lost power in the middle of the road. Fortunately, there was no car behind me at the time. Otherwise, he could have been in a serious accident. He was able to pull into a nearby parki
... ng lot. To avoid further damage, we had the car towed to a certified Honda dealership for diagnosis. The dealer told me that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The total repair cost was $1,851. The dealer checked my vehicle identification number (VIN) and told me there was no recall for my car, even though some vehicles of the same model and year do have recalls for similar issues. Because of this, I had to pay the full repair cost out of pocket. I kept the repair receipt. I later contacted Honda’s customer service to report the issue. However, the representative informed me that Honda could not provide assistance because my VIN was not included in the recall list.Read more
