Vehicle: 2022 Mercedes-Benz S580 The vehicle is experiencing a severe and violent drivetrain "jolt" or "push" during gear transitions, specifically when shifting from 5th to 6th gear at cruising speeds. On multiple occasions, the jolt was so forceful that passengers believed the vehicle had been rear-ended by another car. This behavior is unpredictable and creates a significant safety hazard, as
... it causes a sudden change in vehicle momentum while driving in traffic. The issue has been reported to the authorized dealer (Fields Mercedes Lakeland) multiple times. The dealer kept the vehicle for over 40 cumulative days and performed motor/transmission mount replacements and "software calibrations," yet the violent shifting persists. Additionally, the engine produces an excessive vibration and loud noise during extended operation in high temperatures, which ceases only when the ECO/Auto-stop mode engages. I am concerned that the transmission or torque converter may fail abruptly while at highway speeds, potentially leading to a loss of propulsion or a rear-end collision due to the unexpected deceleration/jolt behavior. The vehicle is suffering from chronic oil consumption issues. The 'Check Engine Oil Level (Add 1 Quart)' message has appeared twice: once on 10/31/2025 and again on 04/17/2026. This is despite the vehicle being exclusively serviced by Mercedes-Benz Lakeland. This recurring engine issue, combined with the violent drivetrain jolts and shifting failures, significantly compromises the vehicle's safety and reliability."Read more

I am reporting a potential safety/compatibility issue with a Graco SnugRide DLX infant seat base. Product: Graco SnugRide DLX infant seat base, model #2215527, manufactured 12/11/2025. Vehicle: 2022 Nissan Frontier. This base could not be securely installed in my vehicle despite following the manufacturer’s instructions and repeated installation attempts. We tried both seat belt installation w
... ith the retractor in locking mode and lower anchor installation. In both cases, the base still had excessive side-to-side movement. An independent Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician evaluated the installation in person and documented that the base had more than 3 inches of side-to-side movement despite removing all possible slack. In her professional opinion, this is an incompatibility issue involving this base and the vehicle seat geometry. She recommended a different Graco base with push-button lower anchors and a lock-off. I do have her report/email if needed. This is a safety concern because caregivers may believe the base is installed correctly when it is not, or may continue using a base that remains loose despite following the instructions. I reported this to Graco and provided installation video. Graco initially stated the issue appeared to be related to installation method. After I obtained the independent CPST evaluation, Graco accepted return of the base and refunded the base price only. Please review whether this base has a broader compatibility or safety issue in certain vehicles, including the 2022 Nissan Frontier.Read more

Safety Complaint – Delayed Acceleration from Automatic Engine Stop/Start I am reporting a safety concern regarding the automatic engine stop/start system in my GMC truck. During normal operation, the system shuts the engine off when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. When I release the brake and press the accelerator, there is a noticeable delay while the engine restarts before power is del
... ivered to the wheels. This creates a hesitation between driver input and vehicle response. This delay presents a safety concern because it affects my ability to react quickly in situations that require immediate acceleration. I have experienced multiple real-world scenarios where this hesitation impacts safe operation: While stopped at an intersection preparing to turn, I observed oncoming traffic approaching faster than expected. When I attempted to accelerate to complete the turn, the delay caused by the engine restart reduced my ability to clear the intersection promptly. In stop-and-go traffic, I needed to move forward quickly to maintain safe spacing or respond to changing traffic conditions. The hesitation before acceleration limited my ability to react immediately. When pulling into traffic from a parking lot or side street, heavy traffic often creates small gaps that require prompt acceleration. Due to the delay in engine restart, it is difficult to accurately gauge and anticipate the truck’s response when pressing the accelerator. With this hesitation, safely merging into traffic in these conditions becomes extremely difficult and, at times, effectively impossible. In situations where a vehicle encroaches into my lane or a hazard develops unexpectedly, the delayed throttle response reduces my ability to maneuver out of the way quickly. This is not simply a convenience issue. The system introduces a delay between driver input and vehicle response, which can reduce reaction time in situations where immediate acceleration is necessary to avoid a potential hazard.Read more

10R80 Transmission has started to go bad like all the other complaints. CDF Drum walking, Valve Body leaking pressure, Torque Converter bearings are whining and getting louder. The transmission fluid was heavily contaminated, and I found approximately 11 square metal fragments around 1/4 inch in size inside the transmission pan and filter. This amount and size of metal debris indicates internal transmission failure. The prior rollaway condition combined with internal debris suggests the recall repair did not fully resolve the defect. Although the vehicle is currently engaging Park, the condition was intermittent and may reoccur without warning. This presents an ongoing safety risk of unintended vehicle movement. I am concerned that the recall remedy (software update) is insufficient to address mechanical failure inside the transmission, and that other vehicles may have the same unresolved defect.Read more

While vacationing in Myrtle Beach with my family the vehicle alarmed and then progressed to critical failure of safety functions while traveling at approximately 55mph on Friday April 3, 2026. The vehicle was brought to Myrtle Beach Hyundai where it was eventually diagnosed and repaired as an Alternator issue that I have found to be common with this specific vehicle. The issues I have experienced
... with this vehicle go far beyond a typical mechanical concern. Over time, the vehicle has exhibited repeated electrical system malfunctions, including: - False blind spot collision warnings when no vehicles are present - Intermittent failure of the crash avoidance system - Loss of cruise control functionality tied to system faults - A broader electrical failure event that triggered multiple warning systems simultaneously Most concerning, these failures have occurred while the vehicle was in motion, creating an unpredictable and potentially hazardous driving condition. The loss and unreliability of critical driver-assist and safety systems directly impacts driver awareness and vehicle control, which raises serious safety concerns. Despite multiple attempts to have this diagnosed through the dealership network while under warranty, no definitive root cause was identified, and the issue has persisted. This suggests the possibility of a systemic electrical defect rather than an isolated component failure. Additionally, I have found that similar complaints involving electrical system irregularities and cascading warning system failures have been reported by other owners of this model, further supporting the concern that this may represent a known or emerging defect pattern. Given these factors, I do not believe this situation should be categorized as routine. Instead, it warrants review under the lens of: - Vehicle safety risk - Potential defect trend - Failure of critical driver-assistance systems during operation This vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer.Read more

The CV joint is a critical drivetrain component, and these symptoms are classic indicators of premature mechanical failure. I am highly concerned that the CV axle could fail catastrophically while driving at higher speeds or in traffic. A structural failure of this component could result in a sudden loss of motive power, wheel lock-up, or a total loss of steering control, putting myself, my passengers, and other motorists at imminent risk of a crash. Honda's failure to provide a permanent, safe remedy for this widespread and known defect is unacceptable.Read more

While driving approximately 35 MPH on a 4 lane major roadway, the vehicle suddenly shut off in motion, resulting in a complete loss of power. This included loss of power steering and the ABS system. The vehicle effectively locked up, and a message appeared on the display instructing me to place the vehicle in park. As a result of the shutdown, the vehicle lost all propulsion and came to a complete
... stop in an active travel lane of a high-speed roadway. There was no ability to maneuver the vehicle out of traffic. I could not steer it to safety, restart it, or shift it into neutral. The vehicle was fully immobilized in the roadway. This left me and my family stopped in an active lane of traffic, exposed to oncoming vehicles traveling at highway speeds, creating an immediate and serious risk of collision. At the time of the incident, I had two children in the vehicle. We remained in this dangerous position until police arrived and an hour after. The vehicle ultimately had to be removed from the roadway with assistance, as it was not operable. During the event, there was a total loss of electrical power. The critical safety systems, including brake lights, were not functioning during the shutdown. After attempting to reset the battery, the vehicle continued to malfunction. It would not properly turn on or off, wouldn't shift into neutral and remained unable to be moved. This is the third occurrence of this; once was while driving at highway speeds. All warning lights, including the battery light, were illuminated. The vehicle is subject to an active recall; however, I have been informed that there is currently no available remedy . Despite this, the dealership and Stellantis advised that the vehicle was safe to operate. Given the repeated loss of power while driving, the inability to move the vehicle out of an active roadway, and the absence of an available repair, this vehicle presents a serious safety risk and I should be able to turn this vehicle in with refund.Read more

While driving home from work on March 13, 2026, the alternator in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (3.0L EcoDiesel) failed, resulting in a progressive loss of electrical power. As battery voltage dropped, the vehicle entered “limp mode.” When I was aproximatly 1 mile from my home when I was forced to stop at a railroad crossing while a freight train was passing. At that time, due to low voltage, th
... e electronic shifter and ignition system became completely unresponsive. I was unable to shift the vehicle into Park or Neutral and was also unable to shut off the engine. The vehicle remained in Drive, requiring constant brake pressure to prevent forward movement. This created an immediate and dangerous situation, as I was stopped very close to a moving train with no functional means of securing or disabling the vehicle. Any loss of braking force or control could have caused the vehicle to enter the path of the train, creating a high likelihood of serious injury or death. After reaching my residence, the condition persisted. I remained unable to shift or shut down the vehicle and was forced to manually disconnect the negative battery cable, which is located under the passenger seat, in order to stop the engine. I am very lucky that I had a small metric socket set in the vehice, that I am somewhat mechanically enclined, and that I have long arms & legs, as this process was extremely difficult. I had to disconect te battery cable while maintaining my foot on the brake to avoid crashing into my garage. The vehicle appears to be designed such that engine shutdown is not permitted unless the vehicle is in Park, while the electronic shifter becomes inoperative during low-voltage conditions. This combination creates a hazardous failure mode in which the driver cannot place the vehicle in Park or turn off the engine during an electrical failure. This incident appears consistent with hazards identified in NHTSA Campaign Number 16V240000 (Recall S27). Despite records indicating that recRead more
