COMPONENT/SYSTEM: High-voltage battery system (traction battery). The vehicle is subject to a manufacturer recall for risk of internal short circuit and potential thermal event. The vehicle and battery are available for inspection upon request. SAFETY RISK: According to the manufacturer and dealer, the defect presents a risk of battery fire, including while the vehicle is parked and not in operat
... ion. As a result, the manufacturer has instructed safety precautions, including limiting charging to no more than 80% and parking the vehicle outdoors and away from structures. These precautions materially limit driving range and require the vehicle to be parked away from the residence, which increases risk exposure to occupants, visitors, and surrounding property. REPRODUCTION/CONFIRMATION: The defect has been confirmed by the manufacturer through a formal recall applicable to this vehicle. The dealer has acknowledged the recall and the associated safety instructions. INSPECTIONS: There has been no individualized inspection specific to this vehicle because the issue is a known, manufacturer-identified defect affecting recalled vehicles of this model. The condition and risk have been acknowledged by both the manufacturer and dealer. WARNINGS/SYMPTOMS: There were no prior warning lights, messages, or observable symptoms before receiving notice of the recall. The safety issue was not detectable to the driver absent the manufacturer’s notification. REPAIR STATUS/TIMING: The manufacturer has advised that replacement batteries are not expected to be available for several months (estimated beginning December 2026 or later). In the interim, the vehicle must continue to be operated under the above safety restrictions, while customer must still bear the known, significant risk of fire until then.Read more

This same incident has happened twice, June of 2025 and more recently March of 2026. My vehicle will essentially have no oil left causing my car to shake while breaking and eventually the car stalls out. The first time this occurred, my vehicle stalled out in the highway and again at a 4 way stop sign. I took it to the Hyundai dealership where an oil change, oil plug and oil filter was replaced. I
... n December of 2025, I noticed oil leaking from my vehicle, where the oil house filter was deemed the issue and was replaced. March of 2026, my car started to shake and eventually stall out again and this prompted me to check my oil levels where there was little to no oil. An oil consumption test was performed and it was noted my car is consuming 0.5 quarts of oil per 1,000 miles. Per Hyundai, this does not meet the oil consumption warranty (1 quart per 1,000 miles) and there is nothing to do for this issue at this time. My concerns are that this issue arises prior to my next recommended oil change. Also, there are no warning signs that prompt me that my oil is actually low; no dashboard warnings or notifications. I really only know this problem is occurring when my vehicle physically shows signs while I am driving. I am frustrated with this as I have to refill oil in between oil changes but also pay for the oil changes. Also, it worries me for the safety of my family while we are driving this vehicle.Read more

A door lock malfunction occurred involving the front driver-side door. The vehicle would not unlock or open using the key fob. Vehicle: 2023 Kia Sportage Issue: Service Brakes / Premature Rotor Failure / Grinding Within approximately six months of purchasing my vehicle new, I experienced brake grinding and premature rotor failure. This condition has reoccurred multiple times despite repair attempts at authorized Kia dealerships, including rotor replacement under a Technical Service Bulletin. Multiple dealerships acknowled
... ged the issue. A Kia service manager advised that factory brake and rotor components are prone to premature failure and stated that reinstallation of original parts would likely result in recurrence. They recommended aftermarket brake components to correct the defect. Despite this acknowledgement, Kia America has failed to provide a permanent fix and continues to rely on reinstalling the same materials associated with repeated failures. The defect remains unresolved and presents an ongoing safety risk due to compromised braking performance. This issue appears consistent with known defect patterns affecting Kia Sportage vehicles manufactured between 2022–2024, with widespread consumer complaints reporting premature brake wear, grinding, vibration, and repeated rotor failure. I am submitting this complaint due to the safety implications of repeated brake failure, Kia’s failure to implement a corrective remedy, and the risk posed to drivers and the public.Read more

On March 22, 2026, I was returning home from a trip to visit my mother in Colorado. The wind in Kansas was horrible on that day. While in the middle of the state, one of the panels around the sunroof on my 2015 Ford Edge CAME OFF of my car and shattered in the road behind me. Moments later, 3 other panels blew off and shattered on the road. I was in shock! Someone could have been killed or se
... verely injured! I am still in shock! The next day, Monday the 23rd, I took the car over to James River Ford near my house and had them look at it. They stated that they had never seen this before. All but one of the panels around the sunroof had come off! They looked up recalls for me, but none were on the sunroof panels. Again, I was in shock. How could a car have been designed such that there was the possibility that the ROOF of the car could come off randomly while driving down the highway? I looked online and there was a lot of talk on how these panels are NOTORIOUS for coming off! There are multiple stories of issues with these panels. I purchased this car used and would have preferred to NOT have a sunroof, but I really liked the rest of the car. In fact, the sunroof did not work properly when I first purchased the car, so I chose not to even use it. Now, to have the panels rip off and shatter on the road is extremely alarming and frustrating! Most importantly, I need to know that Ford understands the dangers of these poorly designed panels around their panoramic sunroof! No “special” sunroof design is worth the dangers that these can cause if they come off. I do not see other vehicles around with these types of panels. I reached out to Ford online on March 23rd and April 2nd. Of course, nothing really came of that, which is why I am reached out and sent them a certified letter. I am extremely disappointed with my vehicle at this point. Fixing it will be expensive, so I may just drive around without panels so that people can see what happenRead more

Hello I am reporting a safety concern involving a 2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L that was involved in an accident and declared a total loss. During the incident, I was driving in snowy conditions at approximately 50 mph while entering a split lane. The vehicle began to skid, and shortly afterward I observed warning indicators activating. It appeared that vehicle safety systems, including stability or b
... raking systems, engaged automatically. Over the next several seconds, I attempted to regain control by applying the brakes multiple times and making steering corrections. However, the vehicle did not respond as expected. Despite these inputs, the vehicle continued toward the shoulder and ultimately impacted a barrier. I was unable to regain effective steering control during this period. This raises concern about the behavior and response of vehicle safety systems, including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), and related driver-assist features during loss-of-traction conditions. Additionally, I became aware of a recall affecting similar model years related to unintended or improper curtain airbag deployment due to system sensitivity. Given that my vehicle falls within this model range, I believe it is important to evaluate whether system behavior may have contributed to the incident. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed as a potential safety issue and considered alongside similar reports to determine whether further investigation is warranted.Read more

While operating the vehicle under normal driving conditions, the engine experienced a significant loss of power and reduced acceleration. The issue is believed to be related to turbocharger failure within the engine system. The loss of power created a safety concern, particularly when attempting to merge into traffic and maintain highway speeds. The vehicle did not respond as expected when accele

The problem has been confirmed by a dealership service department, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection. The diagnosis indicates that the turbochargers require replacement. Prior to the failure, there were limited warning signs. Any warning indicators were either minimal or appeared shortly before the issue became noticeable. The failure occurred at approximately 107,000 miles. Based on publicly available information, similar failures have been reported on this vehicle model, suggesting a possible pattern related to the turbocharger system.Read more

I immediately turned off the car and called the dealership. This happens without any warning at all, just when I am driving. This car is completely UNSAFE and unreliable. I needed to drive 188 miles on Saturday and when I picked the car up from the dealership the service manager told me NOT to take it on the trip, after being told the updates were completed. Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning
... (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. During a recent dealership visit for recall work and an oil change, a potential issue was identified involving improper fluid presence. On April 16, 2026, I brought my 2015 Dodge Dart to Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for recall work and an oil change. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a strong burning smell. Service representative Austin told me this was normal due to the recall work performed. O
... n April 17, I began hearing new clinking noises from the engine that were not present before this visit. On April 18, an independent mechanic observed red fluid consistent with automatic transmission fluid rather than normal engine oil. I have photos and video documenting this finding. I returned to the dealership, where a second oil change was performed. I also have video showing dark oil being removed only two days after the first oil change. The dealership denied wrongdoing and stated the vehicle arrived in that condition. No warning lights or similar symptoms existed before the April 16 service visit. All symptoms began immediately afterward. Incorrect or contaminated fluid can cause inadequate lubrication of engine components, overheating, engine damage, or sudden mechanical failure while driving, creating a safety risk to myself and others. The dealership has denied responsibility and refused to provide requested service records. Due to this experience, I no longer trust the dealership to further inspect or repair my vehicle. A Kia dealer found the engine 2 quarts low, with no external leak, and recommended replacing the catalytic converter at a cost of over $6,000. An independent mechanic confirmed code P0420, which indicates catalytic converter failure. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer? The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Kia dealer, but they did not complete the required inspection for Recall SC336 (defective piston oil rings). They did add the software. Were there warning lamps or other symptoms? Yes. The oil pressure warning light and other dashboard lights came on. The engine made a rattling noise. The vehicle later felt sluggish on acceleration, fuel economy dropped, and the exhaust developed a smell. Also we are on a limited income on social security and therefore this put a huge financial strain on us. We and other could have been seriously hurt and truck damaged as we were on interstate 80. Itemized bill and diagnostic report is available. I am requesting Ford to reimburse me as they stated no recall and now as of April 20, 2026 there is a recall on this very issueRead more

The repair was completed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealer. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle began running rough
... and could have stalled unexpectedly, which presents a safety risk if it occurs in traffic or at highway speeds. Loss of engine performance can reduce the driver’s ability to accelerate or maintain speed, increasing the risk of a collision. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership, which replaced the fuel pump under extended warranty. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle was inspected and repaired by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealer. No inspection was conducted by police or insurance representatives, as no accident occurred. 5. The vehicle became inoperable at high speeds on the interstate, I-65. My husband was able to safely merge to the right shoulder to avoid any crashes. The car made some loud clunking sounds before all power was lost. The car was then towed to the nearest Nissan dealership. It took 3 business days for the dealer to look at the car. The entire engine needed to be replaced. The dealership was able

I own a 2017 Kia Sportage 2.4L (VIN: [XXX] ). In October of 2024 , the vehicle began making a loud engine knocking noise consistent with a known rod bearing failure. I immediately stopped driving and it has been in my garage to prevent further damage or safety risk. I contacted KIA America corporate twice 4/17/26 and was denied engine replacement twice. Kia stated I was not eligible for coverage
... under the engine defect settlement?KSDS update requirements. We are the second owner of the car having purchased it in 2020. I never received the letter about the knock sensor update. I did receive a recall in Dec 2026 a tow hitch harness and another in March 2026 for voluntary emissions campaign. I asked why I did not receive notification they said they most likely sent it to original owner they would not CK if received and then said the NHTSA sends those out and to contact you which is not the case they send them out. I have a 2.4L engine consistent with the defect causing sudden engine failure, fires and hazardous driving conditions. I was denied being able to file a report for not having the software update for the engine knocking (I never received) and for not services it with a KIA dealship I maintained my vehicle and have my documents. Third Brake light (pulse brake light) causes interior leaks causing damage to electrical, interior rust on seats, water damage, headliner staining. This is a common issue. Larson Dodge in Puyallup stated they see approximately three Rams in weekly for this issue including my vehicle 1500.
