Driving on the freeway, my transmission made a loud bang jerked the truck and then completely failed. I was traveling a consistent speed around 75 MPH it was in 10th gear just starting on an incline to an overpass. The jerk caused me to almost pull out of my lane, the failure happening on an incline made the vehicle slow considerably, with no shoulder to pull over on it had enough momentum to make
... it over the high point in the over pass and I coasted to the side of the freeway as soon as I could. Transmission fluid was pouring out of vent tube covering the underside of the truck and getting all over the road. I also ride motorcycles and understand how bad of a situation that can be for anyone riding behind me. Towed to aamco who inspected and diagnosed as the CDF drum failed and had to have the entire transmission rebuilt. No warning light and no indication that it was having any problems before the failure. My daily commute is around 40 miles one way, I was coming home from work, and I was approximately 8 miles from my home. I doubt aamco has the transmission still and the incident happened about 2 months ago.Read more

The rear window basically has 3 parts. Driver side, center sliding section, and passenger side. Only the driver side section defrost. According to online forums specifically for Ford trucks, this is a common issue. Ford’s Special Service Message (SSM) 48490 does reference this as a known issue.

I bought my car in 2024 and while it was through a private party i have had transmission issues since the day i bought it. It surges very frequently and has since the day I bought it. Today I noticed it has now started surging at idle without. It does it in park and when I put it in drive it surges forward on its own without me having to push in the gas. This is a huge safety issue not only for my
... self but for others. If I had continued to drive it, it could have jolted forward more forcefully in traffic and hit another car or even a person crossing the road. Being broke down on the side of the road is not something I want to have to do which I understand happens but I feel like not only have I heard terrible things about this year of edges but I’ve experienced it with owning one. I had two mechanics tell me I obviously had a transmission issues since from the start but I haven’t been able to get it fixed yet. I never had a warning or lights in my car come on prior to this issue arising today. I’m getting it looked it later today. I had a few different salesmen tell me at Ford dealerships that the 2020 edges were poorly made and they’ve had complaint after complaint about this very car.Read more

Transmission failure at 75k miles. It downshifted from 10th gear into 4th at highway speeds and started throwing transmission codes. Almost caused me to get rid as I was on the interstate in traffic at a speed of roughly 65-70 mph. Vehicle is currently being gone over by a Ford dealership who advises a complete transmission overhaul at the cost of 7,000 or total transmission replacement.

On March 17, 2026, during an oil change service at Mullinax Ford of Kissimmee, located at 1810 E Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL, I reported several concerns, including a clicking noise, a rough braking noise, and a whiplash-like sensation when engaging Drive. ... 026, I returned to Mullinax Ford for the brake fluid flush. The same concerns were again noted, but I was told the vehicle checked out and that there were no issues with the brakes. I picked up the vehicle after being told it was safe to drive. On my drive home, the vehicle’s brakes locked up on two separate occasions, triggering multiple alarms and creating two near-accident situations. The first time, I nearly struck another vehicle while trying to stop at a traffic light. The second time, I nearly entered moving traffic while trying to stop at a stop sign. I immediately contacted Mullinax Ford. The dealership acknowledged that this was a safety concern, and the vehicle had to be towed back for further repair. This occurred after I was told by management that the vehicle had been personally checked and was safe to drive. Since then, the vehicle continues to have the persistent clicking noise and the whiplash-like engagement feeling, and these symptoms have worsened. I have also reported a separate concern regarding a sunroof leak, but I was advised to call back in a few weeks because the person who handles sunroof repairs was unavailable. We brought it Gary Yeoman’s Palm Bay Ford and they drove the vehicle and feel there might be something wrong with either the brake or transmission.Read more

The tail lights have a design flaw that results in micro cracks appearing in the lights. This is similar to the issue related to the rear light bar, however it applies to the rear tail lights. (for reference the ford recall for he light bar is here: Recall Reference Number 23S30. The result in my vehicle is that the left tail light is now filled with moisture, full water droplets. This is both
... for the red tail light as well as the white backup light. When these lights fail it will cause a safety issue. Additionally, the same light housing includes the backup sensors, so when they fail there will be no backup alert. My left tail light is already filled with water like I mentioned. A perfectly symmetrical crack is forming on the right tail light although there is no visible water in that light yet. This should be fixed under a recall by ford since I did not cause the cracks in the tail lights.Read more

... ver onto the shoulder of the interstate—a dangerous situation—to prevent the trim from completely detaching and striking other vehicles. Upon reaching my destination, the vehicle suffered a significant electrical short. The interior lights remained on indefinitely due to the false "liftgate open" sensor reading, and the door keypad became completely inoperable. To prevent a total battery drain and potential fire risk from the short, I had to manually disconnect the battery. The dealership confirmed the failure but stated that current B-pillar recalls (such as Recall 25S53) currently only apply to 2016–2017 models, despite my 2019 model using the same defective clips and adhesive. This failure is identical in nature to Recall 24S02 (A-pillar detachment). The detachment of this trim is a documented projectile hazard. Furthermore, the resulting electrical short in the door harness has compromised the integrity of the vehicle’s sensor system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the expansion of the B-pillar recall to include the 2019 model year to prevent further highway incidents.Read more

I have not received any response or confirmation of receipt. I want to correct my earlier characterization — after further research, I understand that 20B39 is a Customer Satisfaction Program, not a safety recall. That said, the core issue and my position remain the same, and I want to lay out where things stand clearly. The situation: - My vehicle is covered under CSP 20B39 (Front View and CHMSL Camera — PCB conductivity issue causing intermittent camera operation) - The program is in effect through November 30, 2030 or 150,000 miles, and the repair is to be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner - My servicing dealer, Santa Margarita Ford, attempted to complete the CSP work but could not because the vehicle's Gateway Module is not communicating properly - The dealer has advised that the Gateway Module must be replaced before the camera work under XXX can be completed My position: Ford issued CSP XXX and committed to completing this repair at no charge. If the Gateway Module must be functional in order for Ford's own program to be executed, then resolving the Gateway Module issue is Ford's prerequisite to meet — not an out-of-pocket cost to push to the customer.
