Ford Motor issued two safety recalls regarding this, but has since closed them without providing a safe resolution for consumers. July 8 2019 Ford issued Ford Safety Recall program 19S22 (following 18S32) for stuck open canister purge valve (CPV). This can result in a failure to bleed the vacuum from the gas tank, and deforms the gas tank upon failure. This has been confirmed, reproduced, and r
... ecalled by Ford before, but continues to happen nationwide to Ford Focus ST owners as a small subset of their vehicles. A stuck open CPV can result in a number of codes. In my case, I got a P1450, Ford-Specific check engine light on the MIL. This can cause inability to start, along with rough idle and stalling while driving. Ford reports closing these safety recalls and provides no further support for the issue.Read more

My 2014 Ford F150 truck went into “limp mode” last week. A wrench showed up on my dashboard, my speedometer didn’t function, and it sounded like the transmission was “winding up” if I tried to accelerate. After hitting “ok” to remove the wrench and restarting the truck a couple of times, my check engine light illuminated. I was driving at about 40 MPH when this occurred and it was a
... scary moment. Luckily I was able to keep my truck under control and drove very slowly back home considering I was less than 4 miles from my home. The truck went into a Ford dealership in 2024 for the “transmission recall” in which the only thing I noticed different was that I couldn’t see the digital shifting of the transmission on the screen anymore and they “killed” my battery. I still had issues every so often with power loss or the transmission shifting down abruptly, but it wouldn’t throw a code. Last week it threw a code. P0720 to be exact, the reason for the transmission recall in the first place. There was no fix done with the recall and it made it so that I had to watch my RPM’s to track my transmission shifting. This is extremely concerning especially since I was having the issues prior to a computer reprogram and it wasn’t addressed. I have also seen that there’s yet another Ford transmission recall that could affect my truck considering it was assembled in June 2014 and fits the transmission 6R80 that needs fixed. Could someone please help? Thank you.Read more

I have had an issue with my brakes for a couple years. I have taken my van to a couple of different mechanics to express my concerns and they have changed brakes but the issues continue. I own a 2020 Honda Odyssey and I am currently having a safety issue with the power tailgate. Upon inspection by my Honda dealership, my vehicle requires a new power tailgate control unit and floor harness and my roof rail and clips need to be re-sealed and replaced. It was discovered that due to the break in seal the connectors corroded due to a water leak.In April of 2026 I received multiple war
... ning messages on my dashboard. The first was Power tailgate problem and the second was keyless remote problem. At first I noticed my car continuously beeping while driving along with the warning on my dashboard. I attempted to turn the vehicle off to see if it would reset, but it did not. I attempted to open and close my tailgate. I could only open my tailgate with the push button on my dashboard. I had to manually close my tailgate due to my buttons on my car and my key fab failing to work. Next while driving, I could hear the locking mechanism on my tailgate continuously locking and unlocking. Of course this particularly concerned me because I have 3 young children and their safety as well as mine was in danger. It was unclear if my tailgate was going to open while driving. Such an action could potentially cause a serious threat or harm to myself, my family or other vehicles on the road.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear control arm (rear suspension component) failed catastrophically by snapping while the vehicle was in motion. This is a critical structural component responsible for maintaining proper wheel alignment and vehicle stability. The failed part has been retained and is available for inspection upo
... n request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sudden failure of the rear control arm placed my husband and son in immediate danger. This component is essential for maintaining control of the vehicle; when it snapped, it compromised the stability and handling of the rear wheel, significantly increasing the risk of loss of control, collision, or rollover. The failure occurred without warning while driving, creating a serious and unpredictable hazard not only for them but also for surrounding drivers on the road. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The failure has been visually confirmed by a service provider as a snapped rear control arm. Additionally, this issue is widely documented as a known defect in similar vehicles, with multiple reports indicating premature failure of this component under normal driving conditions. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? At this time, the component has been inspected by a service professional. The dealership has been contacted but declined assistance, citing that the vehicle falls just outside of the extended warranty parameters, despite the nature of the failure. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the failure. The control arm snapped suddenly and without any indication, which underscores the dangerous and unpredictable natureRead more

Life-threatening, unoccupied rollaway vehicle with personal injury. Possible and/or suspected issues: "Not-P" switch circuit malfunction; "false park"; lack of cross-module redundancy; lack of BCM and PCM redundancy; Diagnostic Blind Spot; lack of Occupancy-Brake interlock; systematic safety failure culminating in unintended, driverless, runaway Zombie vehicle with personal injury. Background
... Info: * Low mileage, mainly in-town errands driving. * Not previously reported quirks, possible latent defects: liftgate opening that was hit-or-miss requiring multiple unlock trunk-unlock doors + get out of the car manual attempts; intermittent off-shutdown double-tap issue to power off car; ill-timed "rear seat alert". * Reported "engine won't start" resulting in three key FOB battery replacements and a locked key FOB. Day of Incident: * Auto-lock and the EBS were not used. * Driver intent was to park and unload, then permanently park. Car was in-park twice before ultimately placed in reverse and backed into position, facing downhill on a slight slope and along a left-side stone retaining wall. * Driver thought vehicle was fully in Park. * Attempted open liftgate via "open trunk, open door" routine, which did not work, so I exited the vehicle to try the manual liftgate button, which also did not work. * Three back-and-forth "unlock trunk/doors + manually press liftgate button" did not work. * Note: Upon opening the door or anytime after, I did NOT hear an audible warning that the car was not fully in Park. Nor did the car move/creep in any direction. * Deducing I must need to shut off the car to open the liftgate -- I leaned in and depressed the on/off button. * This caused the car to move forward, driverless, door open and scraping the stone wall, across a secondary road, over an 11" curb, and down a hill before stopping due to a tree. * I was injured. ... e parts. This repair took several attempts and the dealership refused to even diagnose the issue for several months causing me to have to record each instance on my phone for proof. Once they eventually replaced the starter, the issue went away for approximately 10 months. Today, however, I was temporarily left stranded at a gas pump as my vehicle would not start. Honda and Acura dealerships are replacing these parts with the exact same part number, so the no-start condition comes back in about a year or less. It is incredibly dangerous to have a vehicle that you cannot move as anticipated, or if you’re in an area that you cannot leave or get away from potential danger because your vehicle won’t start. This is a less-than two-year-old vehicle that has now left me stranded on several occasions including in the middle of traffic on a motorway. I know for a fact that several other owners of the Acura MDX are having the exact same issue and ask that you please launch an investigation into this as Honda is well aware of it and still refuses to address the blatant safety risk it poses to its customers.Read more

FCA - USA has a safety recall for Ram trucks manufactured between 2024 -2026. The towing/trailer module is defective and the trailer lights, turn signals and trailer braking may not function while towing a vehicle. The recall has been effective since Feb. 2, 2026. I have tried to schedule my 2026 Ram truck at two different dealerships and they complain that the cannot get the parts from FCA.
... My scheduled appointments have been cancelled at least 2 times due to part unavailability. I was told today by a Ram dealer that FCA has advised them FCA is only releasing 1 module per dealership per month. T This is a serious safety issue for those customers that tow trailers as the malfunction could result in accidents and deaths. I find it unacceptable that an automaker can have a serious safety issue and is unable or unwilling to supply the new trailer towing parts/modules that correct the defect. Please discuss this issue with FCA.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding multiple serious safety defects in my 2021 Subaru Outback purchased in July 2021, currently at 48000 miles THERMO CONTROL VALVE FAILURE (26,307 miles) While traveling in the center lane on [XXX] southbound in [XXX] the evening of 1/6/2024 my vehicle suddenly experienced a complete loss of control. It seemed that the car was accelerating and braking at the s
... ame time without driver input making it impossible to operate safely. It started shaking and several lights were illuminated on the dashboard, power steering was not working. The car coasted to the right shoulder and starlink was used to call for help. The car was towed to the dealership for repairs. The diagnosis was a failed thermo control valve and related sensor circuit. There were no dashboard lights before the incident that fore shadowed this event. This failure rendered the vehicle completely inoperable at highway speed and posed and extreme risk to the safety of the driver, passenger and other motorists. I am aware that Subaru has extended the warranty on the thermo controls valve to 15 years/150000 miles for 2020-2022 Outback’s which suggests that Subaru had knowledge of the defect. Since the incident several other premature “wear” defects have presented under 48000 miles on a 2021 vehicle: - 41,402 miles: driver side rear strut replaced - 41,402 miles: rear brake pads and rotors - 41,402 miles: driver side front window motor, regulator and run Chanel - 41808 miles: rear knuckle assembly, rear wheel bearing and backing plate replaced - 45,768 miles: front brake pads and and rotors replaced - 48,000 miles: complete exhaust system - 48,000 miles: passenger side front window motor, regulator and run chanel This vehicle has proven to be uncharacteristically unreliable for a Subaru Outback. The intended use for this vehicle is for my children to drive to college nearly 600 miles from home in the fall. This car is not appropriate for this purpose. Vehicle exhibits persistent, intermittent failure of Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Phone fails to pair, drops all connection mid-drive (all displays including speed, navigation, etc go dead), and disconnects active calls and navigation prompts during operation. Defect requires repeated manual re-pairing attempts that draw driver attention from the road. The same phone pairs reliably wi
... th all other vehicles and devices tested, including a more recent 2025 Countryman dealer loaner and personal home equipment, indicating the defect is in the vehicle's electronic architecture rather than the phone or user settings. Multiple service visits to an authorized MINI dealer have not resolved the issue. The dealership service team has stated verbally that "all the early 2025 Countrymen seem to have these issues." Dealer is now indicating that full head unit replacement may be required, with extended out-of-service time. The defect creates a documented driver-distraction risk and aligns with multiple existing NHTSA complaints and BMW Technical Service Bulletins for the 2025 Countryman platform. The sudden outage meant I had no information while driving on the interstate at speed and didn't know what was happening. I didn't even know if I was indicating to move over to the shoulder of the road. This happened at least 4 other times since I had had the car but thankfully only the once on an actual highway. Other times were in Atlanta city traffic and a couple of times in my driveway. Even more frustrating, I cannot get it to reliably pair with my iPhone 17 Pro. The lack of reliability increased markedly with the last MINI update which occurred about a week ago. I need to travel for work and cannot rely on this car to get me where I need to go and I actually avoid driving it now. The problem has been validated by the Dealer. The Service intake worker noted, "We have seen this in almost all of the early 2025 Countryman models." There was no warning at all when it happenRead more

The failed component is a fuel pump, and it is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk due to the following: 1) Sudden engine stalling 2) Dangerous power loss while accelerating 3) Potential fire risks; a damaged fuel pump assembley can cause fuel leaks and overheating due to insufficient fuel supply can increase the risk of explosion or fire. 4) G
