I went in to get a tune-up on car because a engine light came on which was a misfire. The mechanic had a hard time getting out one spark plug with a hard residue on it. I drove for a couple days after tune-up and engine light came on again. I then started the next day the garage filled with white smoke with a real weird smell. At 68000 miles I noticed the engine is burning through oil at a rapid pace. A quart of oil a week is bad. If this happens to someone who doesn't keep up with their vehicle, and check it regularly it could be a devastating outcome. It's time Ford fixes this issue.

Sudden downshift when going down a long hill while driving at highway speeds then applying brakes to slow down. Luckily no one was behind me because its like slamming on the brakes with no brake lights. I could have easily been rear ended or gone into oncoming traffic if it I was on wet snowy or icy roads. It's happened more than one time. Something needs to be done before someone is killed!

I've had the transmission replaced under fordprotect warranty and subsequently another torque converter and subsequent to that, a new program installed to repair low RPM Shudder. Under mild acceleration at interstate speeds (65 TO 75 mph) it now hunts for gears with random upshifts and downshifts while failing to maintain or increase speed which constitutes a safety hazard.

Similar to NHTSA Recall Number 24V031, driver's "B-pillar" trim (top edge) has detached and loose, and is only secured in-place by remaining anchors/attachments. In inspecting underlying substrate, it appears that a mechanical anchor is missing AND adhesive exhibits cohesive failure (remainder adhesive on both supporting/underlying substrate and backside of trim.

Torque converter failure caused a transmission rebuilt covered under the 5 year 75,000 mile warranty. Approximately 14 months later it failed again this time Ford wants me to pay for their incompetence upwards of $5000 because it is past the 5 years. This is a major ongoing problem with the Ford Edge and should be subjected to a recall because the failure rate is so high.
