The rear backup camera has been intermittently failing for over one year on this 2020 RAM ProMaster 2500. The failure has now become more frequent and extended. When the fault occurs, the infotainment screen displays a permanent "Camera System Unavailable" message that blocks access to all other functions including radio, phone, and navigation. The failure occurs in all gear positions and persists
... after engine restart. The only temporary resolution has been extended power-off periods. The dealer confirmed this vehicle is covered under Manufacturer Recall 59C / NHTSA Recall 25V-552 but stated no remedy parts are available. No written service record was created for this report. No interim remedy or timeline was provided. The recall was issued August 2025 and as of May 2026 remains unresolved. This constitutes a direct safety hazard during reversing maneuvers, consistent with NHTSA's own safety risk description for this recall.Read more

This is a continuation/escalation of NHTSA complaint 11689917. My 2021 Ford F-150 has experienced repeated fuel-system/electrical fuel-pump failures. The vehicle previously stalled and later cranked but would not start, returning code P0627 “Fuel Pump A Control Circuit / Open.” The in-tank fuel pump was replaced at owner expense for approximately $1,400 at an independent service center in Sept
... ember of 2025, but the repair did not permanently resolve the issue. The vehicle has now again lost fuel pressure/propulsion while traveling approximately 50 mph on a two-lane highway in a similar manner to prior failures. I was able to get the vehicle off the roadway, and it required towing back to my residence. This is approximately the fourth or fifth fuel-related failure, including stalls at low speed and non-start conditions related to fuel in parking lots. The symptoms appear consistent with Ford/NHTSA recall 25V455 / Ford recall 25S75, but my VIN was not included in the affected group. I am concerned that the recall population may be too narrow or that the remedy does not address the full defect pattern.Read more

Oil Filter Housing leak confirmed on my 2022 BMW X3 M40i. My current odomoter reading is at 47K miles and I was told that I could have a catastrophic failure of my engine if not repaired. Car did not accelerate, engine semi-stalled (although

Dealer may still have the car, or it may have been sold/disposed-of to a party unknown to me. 2. Fortunately, since I did NOT test pulling out into traffic, and waited till highway was mostly clear prior to testing acceleration, no one was at risk. However, the problem is that there ARE instances where risk of serious-injury/death is real. 3. No. Salesperson later reported that Dealer felt that there was no problem. Consequently, I believe the Dealer was unable to reproduce the problem. 4. Not to my knowledge. 5. No. P.S. Subsequent to the 68C recall software update, my vehicle is suffering from intermittent loss of acceleration. I own a 2022 Kia Sorento that was manufactured on January 13, 2022. My vehicle experienced a failure involving the electronic oil pump within the transmission system. While driving, a transmission error message appeared prior to the failure. Shortly after, the vehicle unexpectedly entered a limited-mobility condition and significantly slowed down, operating only at a reduced speed. This created a
... hazardous situation, as I was unable to maintain normal traffic flow, increasing the risk to myself and other drivers. The issue has been diagnosed and confirmed by a service center as a malfunction of the electronic transmission oil pump. I am aware that Kia Motors has issued a recall for certain 2021–2022 Sorento and 2021–2023 K5 vehicles related to a defect where the fail-safe limited-mobility drive mode may be impaired due to a transmission oil pump malfunction, potentially resulting in a complete loss of drive power. Although my vehicle appears to have been manufactured during the same timeframe as the affected vehicles, it has not been included in the recall. The failure I experienced is consistent with the conditions described in that recall. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but the issue has been confirmed by a service center and the component should be available for inspection upon request. Given the safety risk and similarity to the recalled defect, I believe this issue warrants further investigation and potential inclusion of my vehicle in the recall population.Read more

The vehicle has experienced recurring malfunctions involving the electrical system, driver-assistance/safety systems, transmission, braking system, door access sensors, and starting system. Specific issues include sudden braking events, erratic lane assist steering intervention, transmission slipping and gear slamming, intermittent loss of exterior door sensor function, failure of rear hatch acces

The vehicle and all affected components remain available for inspection upon request. These failures created significant safety risks to myself and others due to unpredictable braking, steering interference, drivability concerns, and the possibility of becoming stranded during interstate travel and adverse weather conditions. Some issues have been reproduced intermittently and documented through dealership service visits, vehicle logs, photographs, videos, and communications with Genesis Consumer Affairs; however, the dealership has indicated that certain conditions were difficult to duplicate consistently, particularly because many failures occur during wet, cold, snowy, or icy weather conditions not present during inspection periods. The vehicle has been inspected by Genesis dealerships, Genesis Consumer Affairs representatives, towing personnel, and is currently involved in a BBB AUTO LINE case. Prior to several failures, warning symptoms included dashboard alerts, abnormal braking sensations, transmission hesitation, intermittent warning lights, service notifications, sensor malfunctions, and inconsistent electrical behavior, which first began appearing at approximately 26,000–30,000 miles and progressively worsened over time.Read more

Subject: Formal Safety Complaint – Structural Manufacturing Defect – 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport (VIN: [XXX] ) To the NHTSA and Volkswagen Customer CARE: I am formally reporting a significant safety hazard regarding my 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. Incident Details: Incident Date: 05/07/2026 Current Mileage: 76,305 miles VIN: [XXX] Supporting Documentation: See attached files image.png
... and image_2.png. Description of the Problem (Per Certified Technician): As documented in the attached invoice from Vacaville Volkswagen (image.png), the vehicle was brought in for a "steering concern" involving clunking noises and swaying at freeway speeds. After a test drive and inspection, the technician found: The left front control arm front bolt was loose. Three other bolts were not tightened to specification. The noise and instability were caused by the resulting movement of the control arm. The Issue: While the dealership identified the improperly secured hardware and torqued all bolts and nuts to specification, they declined to cover the repair under warranty or recall, resulting in a labor charge of $230.00. Loose and under-torqued structural bolts on a control arm are not maintenance or "wear and tear" items; they represent a critical manufacturing and assembly failure. This component is vital to the vehicle's steering and suspension geometry. Evidence of a Systematic Issue: This defect directly mirrors several existing Volkswagen safety recalls for the Atlas line involving improperly torqued chassis and suspension hardware, such as Recall 42HX and Recall 40R7. It is clear that my 2021 model was impacted by the same production lapses identified in these adjacent recalls. Requested Action: For the NHTSA: I request that this incident be documented to investigate whether the scope of current suspension recalls should be expanded to include the 2021 model year. For Volkswagen USA: I am requesting a goodwill reimbursement of $230.00. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5Read more

I was leaving the parking lot at XXX downtown [XXX] around 12:30 a.m. with my passenger when the vehicle out of nowhere started throwing multiple errors and warnings. I lost the ability to break and I lost steering. I completely lost the ability to slow down the car using the brake pedals. Luckily I was not moving fast and I was able to come to a rolling stop. Have I been in heavier traffic or ha
... ve been traveling faster this most certainly have resulted in an accident, potentially causing injury or worse for me and or my passenger. It was a very scary situation and my safety was at risk. BMW assistance was not able to provide Tow Service due to the time of the hour and availability so I called Boca Raton police department and they provided with a towing service to the dealership at BMW Coconut Creek where the car has been since. The service at the above dealership is currently inspecting the car and I'm looking to find out the result of their investigation. I am aware of the current recall of the brake booster system however I want to emphasize that "safe mode" degraded breaking was not available does not match what happened in my situation. In my case I had no breaking power whatsoever and I could not stop the car even from a very low speed. The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 experienced a high-voltage battery system failure yesterday while DC fast charging, about two weeks after the vehicle underwent recall/campaign service related to high-voltage battery monitoring and software updates associated with NHTSA Recall 26V030. During charging, I heard a loud popping sound from the charging port/high-voltage battery area. After disconnecting from
... the charger, the vehicle displayed warning messages stating: “Electrical system not working correctly. Safely stop the vehicle!” and “Error: 12V power supply. Safely park the vehicle! See owner’s manual.” The Ontario California Volkswagen dealership informed me that a high-voltage battery fuse/protection component malfunctioned or blew and that the vehicle now has to be manually de-energized and partially disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle and failed components should be available for inspection through the dealership. I believe this created a serious safety risk because the failure occurred during active DC fast charging involving the high-voltage battery system. I am concerned about fire risk, sudden loss of propulsion, or other high-voltage battery hazards. The issue has been preliminarily confirmed by an authorized Volkswagen dealership, and I was informed Volkswagen engineering representatives may need to assist with the diagnosis. Prior to the failure, the vehicle had recently undergone recall/campaign service on 04/28/2026, and I was informed the battery control module software required multiple sleep cycles to complete the update process. The dealership is charging me approximately $2,000 in diagnostic and battery teardown fees while determining whether repairs will be covered under warranty. I believe the failure may be related to the recall, software update, or a defective high-voltage battery system and I am requesting Volkswagen consider a buyback or other appropriate remedy.Read more

I was casually checking my fluid levels when I opened the hood and there was a loud pop upon pulling the hood release lever. Numerous complaints online led me to believe that this was the hood release cable coming undone which now means I have no access to my battery and all components of the vehicle under the hood.

The Long block of the engine, which has seemingly been a known issue, is causing damage to the engine and spark plugs. It is. This could leave me stranded or cause an accident with how violent it makes the car misfire, and sometimes it's hard to accelerate. This is an issue that Ford has acknowledged as well as the Ford dealership. It has undergone a diagnostic run at the Ford dealership. The
... re were no warnings prior to this. The problem makes it seem like it is another issue, and with further investigation, it shows that it is the long block of the engine that is the root cause.Read more
