I have always kept my Impala in my garage until recently I started keeping my grandson a few days a week. When I am at that home my car is parked in a driveway open to the elements. I could not find the source, so I took everything out of my trunk and opened the spare tire compartment which was completely filled with water! I found a Product Bulletin on this. Chevrolet #14047. But it is NOT A RECALL. WHY IS THAT? IT IS CLEARLY AN ERROR ON THEIR PART! CAN YOU EXPLAIN PLEASE?Read more

NHTSA Complaint Description What Happened & Safety Risk: While driving a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe at highway speeds on Interstate 84, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic, unrecoverable loss of motive power. Without any warning, the vehicle completely seized up, shut down, and turned off entirely while moving in active traffic. This exact life-threatening failure has now occurred twice. Operating a v
... ehicle that completely dies at highway speeds places the driver, passengers, and all surrounding traffic at an extreme risk of a high-speed rear-end collision, as the vehicle loses all ability to accelerate or safely clear the roadway. Component/System Malfunction: The failure lies within the hybrid propulsion system and electrical/software communication network (specifically relating to active Federal Recalls 25V710 for Hybrid Control Processor software shutdown and 25V766 for engine sand contamination). The vehicle is absolutely available for inspection upon request. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The problem is currently being evaluated. The vehicle is currently held at an authorized Stellantis dealership service department, where it was brought immediately following the most recent highway shutdown. Warning Symptoms: There were no advance warning lamps, diagnostic messages, or performance symptoms prior to the failure. The loss of propulsion and complete vehicle shutdown occurred instantaneously and without warning while traveling at highway speeds.Read more

While driving our BMW 2019 X3 on the highway, other drivers honked to get my attention that our vehicle's rear hatch was partially open. We continued pressing the fob button in an attempt to get the hatch to close without hav

A motorcyclist had been following us, and came up behind and communicated that he wanted to press the button to close the hatch. After I gave my consent, he pressed the close button and the hatch closed and latched. My husband has previously had incidents where after parking the BMW, he finds the back hatch open. TIRE SIZE 235 / 55 R 19. Vehicle is a 2024 IONIQ 5. Issue began at/around 10k miles of use. Sound dampening foam inside of the tires comes loose and bunches up in the tire, creating varying degrees of car shaking and vibration. At its worst, the steering wheel and tires violently shake, especially between 50 - 75 mph. On the highway this causes a very dangerous situation of the driver fighting t
... he wheel to remain safely within their lane. This can happen with no warning (or very little) as the vibration may be subtle at lower speeds on local roads, only to become unexpectedly extreme and violent while speeding-up to join highway traffic. Local Hyundai dealership inspected and tried rotating and balancing which did not fix the problem. Finally they removed the tires and inspected the foam which fixed the issue on one single tire. Cost was passed to the consumer, who is not at fault. And with only one tire addressed, the potential remains for each tire to experience the same failure without warning as time goes by. This is a very dangerous issue, well known as evidenced by complaints since 2023 online, and is going to cause accidents. It is unacceptable that drivers have risk their safety and that of other drivers if they lose control of the car due to the inability to control the steering wheel. Then have to pay to fix this issue or pay for new tires after only 10-12k miles.Read more

My car is experiencing a harsh down shift from 3rd to 4th gear with lack of power on acceleration on my vehicle since 10/25/2024. I have taken it in to three service departments including Karl Flammer Ford in Tarpon Springs, FL. Each service department has said the only remedy is a New Transmission estimated to be $7,000-$8,000 (receipts of diagnostics can be provided). We have already spent $52
... 4.95 for diagnostic testing. Because we have been unable to afford to have the problem fixed we are currently driving around in an extremely dangerous vehicle. I have received the notice of Ford's "Important Safety Recall" Notice 26S28/ NHTSA Recall 26V237 and have researched that other F-150's from previous years have experienced similar issues with the transmission and have been recalled. I would like to be on record, incase something were to happen because of this transmission, that the NHTSA as well as Ford Motor is completely aware of how dangerous this situation is. Quoting from the recall notice: an unexpected downshift to a lower gear can occur causing an abrupt wheel speed reduction. This may result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.Read more

I am filing a vehicle safety complaint regarding a 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy due to repeated safety-related mechanical failures and ongoing defects that create dangerous and unpredictable driving conditions. Since purchase in August 2024, the vehicle has experienced multiple serious issues, including steering rack problems causing sticking, resistance, abnormal noises, and inconsistent st

The vehicle has also experienced rear automatic braking/sensor malfunctions causing sudden stopping and grinding during operation, creating unsafe driving conditions and concerns about unintended braking behavior. Additional issues include transmission and gear engagement concerns, engine replacement under recall, infotainment system replacement, ongoing recall-related concerns, and excessive tire wear requiring replacement of all four tires at approximately 29,000 miles. The premature tire wear raises concerns regarding possible steering, suspension, alignment, or drivetrain defects. There are also concerns involving unusually fragile windshield and window glass, which appears to be a commonly reported issue among Hyundai Palisade owners. Despite repeated dealership visits, diagnostic evaluations, repairs, and major component replacements, the problems continue. The vehicle has spent an estimated total of approximately five months in repair facilities or undergoing service evaluations since purchase. The steering issues and rear automatic braking/sensor malfunctions are the most serious concerns because they directly impact the safe operation of the vehicle. The vehicle has demonstrated unpredictable behavior, including grinding, sticking steering response, and sudden stopping. These ongoing defects have caused significant safety concerns and loss of confidence in the reliability and safe operation of the vehicle. Several issues since purchasing vehicle. The front collision sensor malfunction. Came to an abrupt stop several times while on the freeway due to failed sensor. Narrowly avoided major collisions. Also, have had to replace batter every year along with brakes and tires. My suspension is awful. The brakes are crap and have consistently had to address worn tires in one side. The exact failed component is unknown to me at this time, but the issue appears related to the vehicle’s electrical system. Prior to the incident, I received a charging error notification while the vehicle was plugged in. I unplugged the charger from the wall outlet, waited briefly, and plugged it back in. Later that same day, the vehicle entered a no-start condition and would not start despite
... repeated attempts over approximately two hours. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle left me stranded at night for approximately two hours without warning. Because the vehicle would not start, I was unable to reliably move or operate the vehicle. Depending on location, weather conditions, surrounding traffic, and other circumstances or emergency situations, this type of failure could place occupants and other drivers at risk. Additionally, I previously reported a separate safety-related incident involving this same vehicle in February 2026 in which the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated in my daughter’s daycare parking lot. This has not been reproduced. The vehicle unexpectedly started and operated again at approximately the same time the tow truck arrived, after remaining inoperable for roughly two hours. Because the issue resolved itself without repair, it’s not clear what the root cause is. The vehicle has not yet been inspected. The vehicle has remained garaged following the incident pending further evaluation and communication with Ford. There were some warnings. Prior to operating the vehicle that evening, I received a charging error notification while the vehicle was plugged in. After unplugging and reconnecting the charger, the vehicle later experienced the no-start condition. During the incident, the vehicle provided no clear indication through the vehicle interface or mobile app explaining why it would not start, only “Stop safely now.”Read more

My Tesla repeatedly displayed a “Passenger Safety Restraint” warning related to the front passenger restraint/airbag system. Tesla Service Center in Los Gatos, California attempted multiple repairs over several visits. The first repair identified a pinched and improperly routed passenger seat harness associated with the restraint system. Tesla stated the issue was repaired and tested. The warn
... ing later returned. Tesla then replaced the front right seat harness assembly and lap pretensioner. The warning later returned again. Tesla subsequently proposed and/or performed additional repairs involving the passenger airbag, Occupant Classification System (OCS), occupancy sensor components, and additional seat harness components at significant customer expense. Despite multiple repair attempts and approximately $2,100 in repair costs, the same safety restraint warning still exists today. Because this issue involves the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, and occupant classification systems, I am concerned the passenger restraint system may not function properly during a collision.Read more

While operating my truck i have a air bag warning indicator come up on my cluster gage. With the light still one and engine running I immediately drove the vehicle to my local Ram dealer to seek assistance. I had spoken to a service advisor who checked my vehicle in for service. The service advisor did confirm the SRS light was on. After the tech did a diagnostic they found no stored service codes
... , the dealer cleared rhe codes, and said there was no issue and no repairs was performed. I find it very strange for the light to just randomly comon and there is no issues. I have reason to believe the dealership was not being transparent and did not provide the full scope of work performed on this truck.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding a persistent soft brake pedal condition affecting my truck. Under normal driving conditions and especially during low-speed braking with no trailer or payload attached, the brake pedal feels excessively soft and requires additional pedal travel before adequate braking response occurs. The authorized dealer inspected the vehicle and replaced the brake pads
... and resurfaced the rotors; however, the soft brake pedal condition continues unchanged. After further evaluation, the dealer stated that their engineer determined the vehicle is operating within factory specifications and declined to pursue any additional diagnosis or repairs. I use this truck for towing an RV, and due to the abnormal brake feel and reduced confidence in braking performance, I do not feel safe towing with this vehicle. As a result, the truck remains parked at my residence because I believe continued operation may present a safety risk. I have driven other trucks of the exact same year and model that exhibited significantly firmer and more responsive brake pedal feel, which leads me to believe my vehicle is not operating normally despite the dealer’s claims. In addition, I have found numerous online reports from other owners describing similar soft brake pedal complaints, including reports of lemon law claims and unresolved brake concerns. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential brake system defects or inconsistent braking performance that could affect vehicle safety, particularly during towing or emergency braking situations.Read more

This here is the continuation of complain # 11736595 and Ford case # 01747943. The aim is to inform NHTSA and Ford that this issue at hand is already a recall from other years on the same car model, materialized by NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V192 and Ford Recall Number: 22S20. There is no need to identify if this issue can be recalled, it was already identified as necessary in the past. Yet, this o
... ne VIN here was left out from the list. The images attached here will show: water dripping from center mirror on dashboard, windshield fog on just about every morning and drive without AC and a video (available) showing windshield glass completely off from its adhesive. Solution offered is having Ford to also include this and other related VINs to its recall 22S20 or create a new near identical recall.Read more

The component that failed was the tire/wheel system on a rental vehicle from Enterprise. While driving on a dry highway in New Mexico, a tire pressure warning light appeared. Because we were in a remote area, we stopped at the nearest gas station and added air to the tire. After adding air, the warning light temporarily turned off, so I believed the issue was low tire pressure. However, while cont
... inuing to drive, the warning light came back on. We were traveling through an isolated area where towns and service stations were very far apart, and I was attempting to safely make it to the next available gas station or service area. While driving at highway speed, I suddenly heard a loud “boom boom boom” noise. Immediately afterward, I saw the tire detach from the vehicle and roll in front of me before going off to the side of the roadway. I quickly attempted to safely pull the vehicle over. The sudden tire separation created a serious safety hazard for myself, my passengers, and other drivers on the highway. There was a risk of losing control of the vehicle, rollover, collision, or secondary accidents caused by debris or the detached tire. Other vehicles had to maneuver around us after the incident. The problem was not caused by weather conditions, debris impact, or unsafe driving. The failure happened during normal highway driving in dry conditions. The tire itself was not recovered after the incident. An Enterprise representative later asked where the tire was, but due to the sudden nature of the event and the remote location, we were unable to retrieve it. To my knowledge, the vehicle has not yet been formally inspected by the manufacturer or an independent repair facility. However, the vehicle should be inspected for possible tire defects, maintenance failures, wheel assembly problems, or improper installation. The incident was reported to Enterprise, and I contacted customer service multiple times regarding the safety issue and resulting damages and expenses.Read more
