I own a 2018 Jeep Wrangler that my 19 year old son drives for college. While driving, the vehicle jerked and became sluggish. There were no warning lights illuminated. I became aware that the front brake rotors had overheated again. I had the front right brake caliber and brake line changed back in 2024 and the issue has recurred this year. I had a local mechanic change the front brake pads and ro
... tors for both front tires and caliber to right front side only in April/2026 and the issue has started again today. The vehicle was taken back to local mechanic to be diagnosed again. He stated that the brake fluid was unable to properly bleed through the brake line restricting air to fully purge from the hydraulic system, which can result in incomplete bleeding, reduced braking performance, uneven pad wear, brake drag, or brake fade and is part of the reason for burning smell near right front tire. He added that car isn’t safe to drive in this condition due to safety concerns of accidents due to inability to properly brake or even a fire. Vehicle hasn’t been repaired due to cost and I will attempt to contact manufacturer. The initial mileage reading when this issue occurred in 2024 was 90,000 miles. The mileage as of this complaint is 112,392.Read more

2021 Land Rover Discovery 48V mild hybrid (MHEV). Recurring 12V system failures: repeated depleted/dead 12V batteries and no-start events. The 12V battery has failed and been replaced three times during my ownership (two documented at a franchised Land Rover dealer and an independent shop), plus a prior replacement under the previous owner per the vehicle history report. Symptoms: the vehicle wil
... l not start without a jump, repeated low-battery and SOS/telematics warnings, blank infotainment display, and full battery depletion after the vehicle sits unused for as little as 3 days, even with a battery maintainer in use. Dealer cloud diagnosis confirmed two contributing faults. First, elevated parasitic/quiescent current draw from control modules not entering proper sleep state, measured at 1.6A versus a normal value near 0.01A. Second, inadequate 12V charging. The dealer replaced the 12V and telematics backup batteries and applied software updates to multiple modules (including TCU and BCM), yet the failures recurred. This VIN has an open safety recall on MHEVs (NHTSA 26V-248, manufacturer D126) describing a DCDC converter internal fault that causes loss of 12V system charging and a "Stop Safely, Electrical Fault Detected" warning, with potential loss of motive power, coasting to a stop, and loss of exterior lighting. The remedy is not yet available. Safety risk: loss of 12V charging and battery depletion can cause stalling, loss of motive power in traffic, no-start and stranding, and loss of lighting, all of which increase crash risk. On one occasion the vehicle barely started after sitting at an airport lot, nearly leaving my family stranded. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by both a franchised dealer and an independent service center. The vehicle and the failed batteries are available for inspection on request. Warning messages first appeared before the current failure and have recurred across multiple battery replacements.Read more

The shift-by-wire system failed while the vehicle was being parked. The vehicle would not shift out of Drive; repeated attempts to engage Park resulted in Neutral only, with a "PARK malfunction. Engage parking brake when parking vehicle." warning displayed in the instrument cluster. Because this vehicle requires Park to be engaged before it can be powered off, the vehicle also could not be turned
... off. I was trapped with an energized vehicle that could not be secured in Park or shut down for approximately 30 minutes. A red 12-volt battery warning lamp was illuminated in the instrument cluster during the event (photo attached showing the malfunction message, Neutral gear state, and battery warning lamp). I secured the vehicle using the electronic parking brake. Safety risk: a vehicle that cannot engage Park or power off risks rollaway and leaves the driver unable to safely exit and secure the vehicle, particularly on a grade or in traffic. This is the second occurrence of a shift-to-park failure on this vehicle. The vehicle was previously taken to an authorized dealer for the same symptom; the dealer cleared diagnostic codes without repair and the problem recurred. The vehicle is scheduled for further dealer diagnosis and is available for inspection upon request. The ICCU recall remedy (Recall 272) was previously completed on this vehicle per the manufacturer's campaign records.Read more

On Jan 1,2019 under KIA PI-1803 Recall I had a Knock Sensor Detection System(KSDS) installed on my 2013 KIA Sorento. My car broke down and was towed into the Kia Dealership and it indicated a P1326 fault active . Vehicle: 2021 Subaru Legacy Base 2.5i Mileage:~65,000 miles My engine suddenly began making loud internal knocking/tapping noises with no warning lights, no overheating, and no prior symptoms. The vehicle immediately became unsafe to operate. I had it towed to a Subaru dealership, where technicians confirmed the noise was coming from inside the engine and recommended a full engine replacement. Th
... e failure happened without any warning indicators, misfires, overheating, or oil pressure warnings. All diagnostics (including compression and leakdown) were clean, and the vehicle has been properly maintained. Subaru of America acknowledged the internal failure but only offered $1,000 goodwill toward a multi‑thousand‑dollar engine replacement. This appears to be a premature internal engine failure on the FB25 engine, which may indicate a defect. A sudden internal engine failure at highway speeds could lead to loss of power, stalling, or inability to accelerate, creating a safety hazard for the driver and surrounding traffic. I am filing this complaint because this type of unexpected internal engine failure at relatively low mileage may represent a pattern and should be tracked for potential investigation.Read more

I own a 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid SEL, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle currently has approximately 104,708 miles. The vehicle has developed a shuddering, vibration, and chatter condition during low-speed turns, parking maneuvers, backing up, and other tight turning situations. The condition is most noticeable while turning in parking lots and at low speeds. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership wh
... ile it was being repaired for a separate engine concern. During that inspection, the dealership diagnosed a rear differential/internal clutch concern and provided an estimate of approximately $2,709 for repair. After receiving the diagnosis, I learned that Ford issued TSB 25-2351 regarding low-speed turning chatter, vibration, and shudder concerns on certain Ford Escape vehicles. My vehicle is experiencing symptoms consistent with those described in the bulletin. In addition to the vibration and chatter during turns, I have also noticed abnormal noises from the vehicle during low-speed maneuvering and when shifting into park. The condition appears to be worsening with continued operation. I contacted Ford Motor Company and opened a customer assistance case regarding this concern. I later contacted Ford again to update my case and advise them that my vehicle is experiencing symptoms consistent with TSB 25-2351. Ford advised me that there are currently no recalls, special coverage programs, or customer satisfaction programs available for my VIN. I was advised to keep my repair records and receipts in the event a future recall or reimbursement program is issued. I am submitting this complaint so that this issue can be documented and evaluated. I am concerned about the continued deterioration of the rear differential or rear drive unit components and the potential impact on the safe operation and reliability of the vehicle.
