24V405000 - Constant alerts are very distracting while driving, causing me to have to verify if the warnings can be ignored or if it is a major issue. This does not pertain to just one alert, but the automatic emergency braking warning, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance warning all send notifications that they are not working at various times. Also, my version is
... at 2.2 part (2/3). It's not fully updated and I'm not certain if the fixes were implemented correctly. On 10/26/24 I went to see a mechanic, Roush Restorations LLC, who serviced my water pump recall. It cost approximately $230.Read more

This vehicle has had multiple electrical system failures that minimally disable driver assist safety features. An error message is received that the vehicle is experiencing electrical system failure. This is the third such message recieved since July 2024. I have had the vehicle serviced to resolve the prior two instances, after which the message is produced again. Given the high number of recalls
... for the model and the stop sale order last year, I don’t believe the manufacturer is honestly addressing the safety defects for this model. I have reported the issue to VW of America and they closed my case pending evidence. The VW dealership who serviced the vehicle purged my service records. When I produced the evidence I had of the system failures, VW of America is unresponsive.Read more

On [XXX], I was exiting the freeway and went over a slight bump in the exit lane. I went to engage the brakes, and my car lunged forward (24V865000). Shortly after turning left from the freeway exit, my car began to stall and shut down - displaying an issue with the main battery. My car kept stalling and shutting off and had to be towed (24V404000). I had a mobile tech come out to try and repair
... the car. He replaced the 12v battery and ensured the PDU / front of the car was functional and working properly. He determined that there may be an issue with the High Voltage Battery and recommended it be taken to a repair shop. He also confirmed that even though my car said it was on 2.2 Software, it was not even partially installed. I called the approved service center in Newport, CA and they informed me they would not be able to work on my car. So, I had to tow my car to Riverside, CA as it's the only other repair shop in Southern California. This incident occurred after I replaced my water pump (24V499000) in Riverside and had to pay $150 out of pocket. My car has been in the shop for at least 2 weeks and I was told it may not be repairable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On February 14, 2025, my 2020 BMW X5 unexpectedly failed to restart after engaging the Auto Start/Stop function while waiting at a traffic light. Despite multiple attempts, the vehicle would not turn back on, leaving me stranded in active traffic and creating a significant safety hazard. This failure occurred only three months after BMW applied a recall fix (software update) to address a known is
... sue with the starter system. BMW initially issued a nationwide recall in July 2024 related to the starter function, with official letters sent to owners in September 2024. I purchased this vehicle in October 2024 and, upon learning of the recall, took it to an authorized BMW dealership in November 2024, where the recall remedy was applied (software patch). Despite this fix, the vehicle has now suffered a complete starter failure at just 50,250 miles, which is extremely premature for a modern luxury vehicle. BMW technicians at the dealership have confirmed that the starter motor itself has failed and requires full replacement. However, they claim it is unrelated to the recall, despite the failure occurring directly in line with the recall-related system. This issue is not an isolated incident—multiple BMW owners have reported similar failures following the recall fix, suggesting that the software update did not fully resolve the underlying defect. Given that the failure occurred under normal driving conditions and shortly after the recall repair, this raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of BMW’s recall remedy and the reliability of the Auto Start/Stop system. To date, BMW corporate has not yet provided a resolution, and I am seeking answers regarding whether this failure will be covered under an extended recall or goodwill repair. A premature starter failure caused by a known defect is unacceptable and presents a severe safety risk—had this occurred in a more dangerous situation, such as on a highway or at a railroad crossing, the consequences could have beenRead more

Well known fault is the door opening buttons stay pushed in. Ineos dealer solution is either to dust them graphite dust (which does provide temp relief) or strike the outer door body with fist to free the door (which does relieve the acute condition. Recently while driving with a passenger in the front of the car while making a left curve at normal speed the passenger door flew open. My passenger

I believe that Ineos have a fix and should be made to install on all vehicles. three out four doors are effected by this problem.Read more

I received a letter from Fisker in Sep 2024 about NHTSA Campaign number 24V623 which was about braking Improvement Software update. It's now Feb 2025 and nothing has been received over the air. For the past several months there's a weird clicking feeling when applying the brake pedal and I assume that's what this Over the Air update was to address. The closest service place that can force an updat

The above is my largest concern, but there are still the following recalls I can't get addressed: 24V499000 (Water pump) 24V466000 (Door Handles) 24V405000 (Warning Lights OTA-2.1) I live in Los Angeles and no one can fix these for me (not even the above service center that can do the software update due to lack of parts). The door handles feel like a miracle every time they open and the warning lights in the car go off CONSTANTLY while driving and there is no way to turn them off. They are a major distraction while dirivng both visually and audibly. This has been going on since I received the letter in September of 2024Read more

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Multiple attempts of this safety recall have been scheduled over the past several weeks for my vehicle, but the update has yet to be completed. As an owner who values safety and reliability, I am increasingly concerned about the unresolved safety
... issues that were supposed to be addressed with this software update. Yesterday I was able to address the water pump recall however the list service cost $340 opposed to the listed $175. This is a mandatory recall and I had no choice but to pay for the replacement of the water pump. Please help. This vehicle has become an incredibly unsafe and a financial burden. Mandatory recall service should be free to the vehicle owner. I feel American Leasing is fleecing vehicle owners. They were given the responsibility to Shepard the recall process and they are failing to do their job by paying full reimbursement $340. Thank you for watching out for us.Read more

The current 48-hour update window renders my car unusable, and now I require another session, an additional 48 hours to complete the update only adds to my frustration. Based on owner surveys, it appears that complete updates, including the correct sounds, have been successfully implemented in less than 30% of vehicles attempted. Given these concerns, I urge you to look into the situation with my vehicle and the entire process. I should not have to pay out of pocket for the safety recall and restored function of pedestrian alert noises, nor the cost of a rental car. Braking Issue and ADAS Warning + Lack of Access Concerns I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding the ongoing issues that are being seen with the NHTSA recall campaign numbers 24V865000 and 24V623000. Specifically, the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in my vehicle, which has become increasingly distracting and, frankly, dangerous due to an incomplete or failed 2.2 Over-The-Air (
... OTA) update is a huge concern. As a responsible driver, I value the safety of not only myself but also those around me, and this situation and others we constantly hear about make me question the process of the recall. Every week, a number of vehicles are reported as undrivable post-OTA updates, with statistics indicating that approximately 2%-5% of owners experience this issue. With 48-hour update windows, my vehicle becomes unusable for an extended period, which is highly inconvenient and concerning. Moreover, I've noted that partial updates are expected, potentially extending this downtime by another 48 hours. I have had a partial update that has left my vehicle in worse shape than before, what could happen if the process is tried again? This inconsistent performance is not only frustrating, but also poses a serious inconvenience to scheduling and executing such a process. Owner surveys suggest that comprehensive updates, which should resolve these issues, have been successfully completed in under 30% of vehicles which were attempted. Additionally, the alarming figures shared indicate that only around 10% of the fleet has been updated in over five weeks, despite submitting over 800 Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). This inefficiency raises serious questions about the reliability of the process. Furthermore, the fact that there are only approximately 20 service personnel available nationwide, with a mere five traveling to assist customers whose cars are rendered undrivable, is simply unacceptable. This lack of support exacerbates an already troubling situation.Read more
