I was scheduled for the 2.2 update (to fix various recalls) on 11/11/24, with a healthy 12V battery, connected to a tender. I left the car alone for 3 days, to be sure that there was plenty of time for the update to be pushed. When I went to drive the car on [XXX], the car would not drive. It showed to be in "N" (neutral), would not shift to park or drive, every warning light possible was lit o
... n the dash, and the "pedestrian warning" hum was sounding. Even exiting the vehicle and locking it did not turn off the infotainment center. I was unable to move or drive the vehicle in this state, and there are NO mechanics in Arizona with a FAST tool, to diagnose or fix the car. I had a former Fisker Master Technician come change the 12V battery (which cost $305.40 for the battery, and $150 for the install), but this did not reverse the above situation. Because it was "bricked", I couldn't even charge the HV battery to keep the 12V charged, so I had to hook up a 15A maintainer to the 12V, so that the car wouldn't drain the brand new 12V. The tech also tried disconnecting the HV battery, and reconnecting it, in hopes that it would reset, but it didn't. With no FAST tools available in my state, I ultimately had to sell the vehicle at a loss of about $70,000. When the new owner tried to have it towed, the front wheels were locked, despite the car showing it was in "N" (neutral), and it had to be dragged out of the garage, and then died (12V, now no longer on a maintainer) in the street, waiting for a tow truck that could haul it with the locked front wheels. I was never able to drive it after the attempted 2.2 update, so never got the recall work completed. I was also never able to get the water pump recall done, either.Read more

The power steering fails. Chevrolet (manufacturer) and Pine Belt Chevrolet (NJ) both claim that our vehicle was in for the recall and did not have an issue. The power steering has failed since we bought the car new in 2006. The problem was intermittent for years, but recently the power steering fails 5 or more times during a 10 mile trip. We shut the car off and restart it and the power steeri
... ng comes back on. We contacted Chevrolet. They told us our car was repaired/checked for the recall and they are not responsible. We feel that since there was a recall for this that they should fix the problem. They told us that the parts are not under warranty but since it was a recall we think it should still be covered under the recall. We are currently in Florida and don't know if it is safe to drive the car back home to NJ.Read more

I am writing to express my serious concern regarding an ongoing issue with my vehicle, which began pulling to the left at around 3,500 miles. I promptly brought my vehicle to Bay Ridge Honda's service department for inspection, where I was advised to return when the regional service technician was available for a more thorough diagnosis. I returned to the service department at 6,600 miles, and af
... ter lifting the vehicle and conducting an inspection, the technician performed a road test. He identified a problem with the front axle, stating that it would need to be replaced. However, the technician also indicated that replacing the axle would not resolve the issue, as the same problem would likely recur within 700 miles. He further explained that the only way to permanently address this issue would be for Honda to issue a recall for the faulty component. Given that this problem concerns a critical safety feature of the vehicle, I am extremely concerned about driving a vehicle that may be unsafe. This is particularly troubling, as I purchased the vehicle brand new and have taken no action to cause this issue. The prospect of continuing to drive a vehicle with a component integral to both the safety and daily operation of the car is unacceptable. I would greatly appreciate your urgent attention to this matter and would like to explore any potential solutions that may be available in the interim. My primary concern is ensuring the safety of both myself and others on the road.Read more

On [XXX] going through Jacksonville downtown on the way to the airport. In the middle lane (second over from left lane) at ~60mph the engine started to lose power in spite of my foot being on the gas. I kept the gas applied and the engine power came back. No buzz sound. At the start of the summer in 2023, I noticed that my AC was only blowing hot air (during >110 degF Phoenix summer). I took it to a Brakes Plus on 4/7/2023 and had an evac and recharge service performed along with a leak test. The test detected a leak from the condenser, and I had the Brakes Plus shop replace that part. At the start of the summer of 2024 I was back at Brakes Plus with the same iss
... ue, my AC had gradually reverted to blowing only hot air. At that time, I did another evac and recharge service along with a leak test that was not able to detect any issues. Most recently, on 2/28/2025, I took my car to Brakes Plus again due to the same issue with my car AC only blowing hot air. This time, the technicians performed a leak test and saw signs of a leak near the compressor shaft in the form of dye found splattered around that area. So, that prompted us to find the warranty extension for the AC compressor shaft seal. So, I figured this time I would stop and take it to the Bell Honda Service Center to confirm that finding. I then set up an appointment with the Bell Honda Service Center in Phoenix on 3/1/2025. I was told that the only way to check for any leaks in my system would of course be to do an evac and recharge of the system and add some of the dye needed to detect any leak. That cost me ~$320. The diagnosis from the Bell Honda Service Center did NOT find any signs of leakage near the compressor shaft seal and I was not allowed the same courtesy of showing me that in person (or even via a picture) as I had been offered at Brakes Plus. Instead, the diagnosis suggested that my new issue was excessive build up of freon in the evaporator, resulting in a leak, which I was also not visually demonstrated. I asked if there was any warranty eligibility for the evaporator and was able to confirm at the dealership that there was no warranty extension or recall for the evaporator at the moment. However, I did hear of numerous reports of similar evaporator issues.Read more

I am experiencing an ongoing and unresolved steering column defect in my 2023 Rivian R1S, which creates a serious safety risk while driving. Issue Details: The steering wheel drops unexpectedly when weight is applied, even lightly. This occurs both while the vehicle is stationary and while driving, including when hitting small bumps in the road. The issue compromises steering stability and could
... lead to a loss of vehicle control. Repair Attempts & Rivian’s Response: I have taken the vehicle to Rivian Service Centers four times for this issue. Rivian has replaced the steering column three times (May 2024, July 2024, January 2025), but the issue persists. Rivian has now claimed this is a "normal characteristic" of the vehicle, despite previously acknowledging it as a defect and attempting multiple fixes. I requested a written statement regarding their refusal to fix the issue further, but they have not responded. Safety Concern: My father currently drives the vehicle, and I am deeply concerned that the steering column could fail while he is driving, leading to an accident. The steering instability may cause loss of control, particularly at higher speeds or in emergency maneuvers. Rivian’s failure to fix this issue despite multiple repair attempts indicates a potential systemic defect that could affect other Rivian R1S vehicles. Requested Action: I am filing this complaint to document this safety hazard and request that the NHTSA investigate whether this defect affects other Rivian vehicles. Given that Rivian has failed to properly address this issue, I urge the NHTSA to take action to ensure driver safety, including a potential recall if necessary.Read more

Unannounced, on February 12, 2025 update 2.1 was pushed to my automobile. It has amplified the already missing and malfunctioning safety features of the car. I started to receive 12v battery warnings, downhill traction warning light, sporadic ADA system failure warnings including: loss of lane departure warning and avoidance, loss of emergency braking capability, and loss of forward collision wa
... rning. The HVAC system is also malfunctioning - fan speed at start up is automatically high temperature and occasional sudden fogging of window interiors at highway speeds. The mileage remaining calculation also suddenly dropped, causing concern I would not make it home from work safely. I'm very afraid to continue driving the car: I worry it is a danger for myself and others on the road. I have been forced to take it to a service & repair center for an inspection to address the sudden low 12v power drop. I was told by the repair shop that there are outstanding safety recalls for the Fisker Ocean - why did none appear on this web page when I entered my VIN?Read more
