WE HAD A WRECK WITH OUR MOTOR HOME THROUGH NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. AFTER THE TIRE EXPLODED, WE ENDED UP IN A SWAMPY FIELD APPROX. 300 YARDS OFF THE HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE OF THIS TIRE. WE WERE RUNNING SMOOTHLY AT THE SPEED LIMIT OF 65MPH. WE HAD BEEN TRAVELING FOR APPROX. 3 HOURS ON A SMOOTH HIGHWAY. WE WERE IN OUR 45' MOTOR HOME. WE HEARD AN EXPLOSION SOUND, SUDDE

WE CHECKED THE PRESSURE IN THE TIRES PRIOR TO TAKE OFF; WE ALWAYS DO. WE ARE EXPERIENCED SAFE DRIVERS; NO ACCIDENTS PRIOR. THE TIRE HAD MASSIVE TREAD SEPARATION AND MASSIVE BELT SEPARATION. RADIATOR FAILED AFTER 3 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS AND 49600 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. IN COMMUNICATIONS WITH OTHER OWNERS WE HAVE IDENTIFIED A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES IN THIS YEAR THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR RADIATOR FAILURES AROUND THE SAME "TIME IN OPERATION".

MY RADIATOR STARTED LEAKING WITH ONLY 26,000 MILES AND NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE. THE LEAK WAS UN-REPAIRABLE AND REQUIRED THAT THE RADIATOR BE REPLACED. THERE ARE MANY SPARTAN CHASSIS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, SO SPARTAN IS OBVIOUSLY USING INFERIOR PARTS OR AN INFERIOR MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
