Went to dealership on 8/10/23 to get a recall fixed. The recall is for the rear frame brace corrosion due to deicing agents. The dealership said that that my car failed the test and declared the car unsafe and do not drive. No warning lights or symptoms. My safety was put at risk due to the fact the rear arm frame brace could’ve snapped while driving causing a potentially fatal accident.

After an exhaustive search, the mechanic was able to secure the factory part, only to find out the right actuator (68591375AA) was in a box labeled for the left side. I personally spent several days looking for another. I even called dealerships in Canada and was told it’s on a “continent-wide backorder with no ETA." Finally, we were able to secure another, only to discover the exact same problem upon arrival. Now, the mechanic has been trying to order a right-hand actuator in the hope the left one might be in the wrong box as well and a THIRD left. The vehicle has been completely inoperable for over two months, with no end in sight. This vehicle is critical to our business and we've had to rent a replacement at over $500 a week. So far, this has cost now us over $3,000...for what should have been a $200 part and an hour of shop labor. I strongly believe Stellantis should be covering all of this for us, as they are the ones responsible for the complete lack of parts availability for critical safety parts such as emergency brakes and considering how close the problem was to the warranty expiration.Read more

After an assessment at the local Tesla dealership (Bend, OR) today they found nothing wrong with the car but acknowledged that the phantom braking is occurring and Tesla engineering is “working on it”. They refused to help me, stating that they did not manufacturer the vehicle so I had to reach out to the manufacturer for any assistance. I then reached out to Jeep, who is the manufacturer, and also tried to request any assistance in this matter. I first went to the dealership directly and asked if there was anything they could do to assist me and they denied me stating that jeep does not provide any rental vehicle assistance in regards to recalls. When I advise them that this is a safety concern, they said I should reach out to customer service. I then called customer service with the number that they provided, and they also refused to help me. They stated that they could not provide any rental vehicle assistance or loaner vehicle, while I am waiting for the recall to be resolved. They stated they have no policy that requires them to do so. I advised them that this is a safety concern as my vehicle could catch fire based on the parameters of the recall and they said it did not matter. I asked to speak to any supervisor or management and they refused to connect me stating that the policy is the policy and the manager will tell me the same thing.
