NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V776000 Your website says that the issue is repaired with my vehicle, which it has not been. Yes I have taken it to not only one, but two different dealers to have the issue resolved multiple times. The issue still continues and Indian Motorcycles, in my belief, refuses to fix the problem at hand under the recall. To the point where they have said it is no longer the gear
... positioning switch. And it has now started costing me money while they toss parts at it with hopes it’ll repair the issue. I can’t afford to pay $1,000 plus each time I take it somewhere to have this recall repaired. This is a serious safety issue. Not only the possibility of the motorcycle being started while parked, but it also disengaged cruise control while being used. These motorcycles rapidly lose forward momentum when the throttle isn’t applied creating a risk of being rear ended and or run over on the interstate while the operator is trying to investigate the loss of throttle.Read more

The power lift gate door opened on its own when my husband opened one of the side sliding doors. The rear door then collided with the shopping cart that was parked behind the car and continued to open, lifting the grocery cart with our 45lb son and all of our groceries up off the ground. My husband lunged to catch our son and our 2 year old daughter fell, landing head first on the asphalt. She is
... currently in the emergency room. The door is meant to STOP opening if it bumps another object or feels resistance. It is also not meant to open on its own. I found several videos of this exact issue (the power lift gate opening on its own when the sliding door is opened). However, the resulting injury has caused alarm and I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. We have video footage of the incident from the grocery store’s security cameras.Read more

The transmission control module (TCM) began acting erratic. At times the transmission will not shift but several times it has gone into park( with no warning) when slowing down causing the wheels to lock and the truck skids to a stop. I was nearly in 2 accidents when this happened. Both time I was hauling a load and caused the traffic behind me have to swerve to not run into me. In looking int
... o the issue I found that in 2011 GM had put out a shop notice that they had a known problem with the TCM and they thought it might be caused by a non-OEM fan belt causing electrical discharge that might impact the TCM. A second shop notice from GM stated that the issue was due to heat and since they has mounted the unit on the fan shroud it should be moved. But none of the shops I went to knew about these shop notices from GM. Thousands of TCMS have failed but no recall. GM has now greatly reduced production of replacement modules and the cost of a new TCM has gone from $400 to $5000 ( Plus programing ) and a long wait time to get one. You can get one refurbished for $1200.Read more

I recently was forced to use the pry-off cap and manual key entry to get into my 2013 Volvo XC60. This was due to the vehicle’s lack of response to the fob, there was no communication between the fob and the electrical system. Once inside, inserting the fob, the engine started but the entire instrument cluster was flashing intermittently the various warning lights, and the windows could not be l
... owered. The cluster showed failure of speedometer, tachometer, brake system, seat belts and all other gauges on the cluster. Not knowing whether it was safe to drive, I turned it off. I returned later and turned it on, same problem. I went around the block, contacted the Volvo dealer for consultation, and secured an emergency appointment to bring it in. On the next day/the appointment, I drove the car in, during which the systems seemed to have reset themselves, but halfway there the problem started again. At this point the vehicle has been there (Howard Orloff Volvo, 1924 N. Paulina St, Chicago, 1.877.570.6927) since the 28th, they have not been able to give me a diagnosis, and the bill is over $600. How can this problem NOT be a safety risk for ordinary person such as myself? It is my understanding, from researching this, that this is a common and recurring problem so why has there NOT been a recall for what is obviously a defect inherent in this make and model car? After getting out to see what happened, I discovered my headrest had deployed the safety feature, of popping forward.

The vehicle had a very violent shift (perhaps it was turbo lag related?) at low speed (under 20 miles per hour - typically, this happens in a parking lot or the like as you slowly drive away). In the past, this had been mentioned to the dealer, numerous times, who claimed that the issue is not reproducible. However, during the visit on 12/06/2022, dealer mechanic(s) claimed that they did witness
... the issue and the fix the performed the following (per dealer's notes): "reset TCM and Batter cable reset." after which (the dealer notes state): "Let the customer know that the trans will adapt to driving habits within 200 miles. If the customer drives hard, the transmission will learn hard to shift hard etc..." The second statement is nonsensical, since, most of the time the transmission shifts relatively fine, regardless of the driving pattern (i.e. hard, mellow, etc.) and the issue happens intermittently (every so many hundreds miles driven), at very low speeds with very little accelerator input, which indicates more of a software issue (and, possibly a mechanical design defect, coupled with the SW issue). Again, Honda has refused to properly troubleshoot and address the issue. There are now other customers with, what sound like, a very similar problem: [XXX] And, just as with my vehicle, other dealers are claiming "there is no issue" and Honda has ignored the issues. Honda has a history of transmission problems from the 2000s and it's really worrying that they might be repeating that pattern with 2018-on models: [XXX] While I am noting the issue at this mileage, there are numerous other instances of where the same problem occurred. The violent manner in which these shifts happen, makes one wonder how much mechanical damage is being done to the transmission and if a recall should be issued. On February 9 2023 Ram issued a recall on my vehicle Ram 2500. In that recall it was noted “ An electrical short in the relay can potentially lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off” further owners were advised to park their vehicles outside and away from buildings. This requirement is a burden on vehicle owners and subjects the vehicle to additional risks including weather (hail,
... extreme heat, and paint oxidization) and other risks such as vandalism and theft. You would think stellantis would have a sense of urgency to complete these recalls, they obviously do not. I have contacted the dealer Waxahachie Ram multiple times to only receive the same answer… we don’t have the part, we only get one every two weeks, we’ll call ya. Reading consumer complaints on NHTSA, multiple consumers have had the same experience. A manufacturer issuing a recall is meaningless if they don’t repair the vehicles. Stellantis has demonstrated they have total disregard for the consumers who owns these affected vehicles by exceeding a reasonable amount of time to perform these repairs and keeping consumers in unsafe vehicles. Unlike your other complaints, I ask NHTSA to not just contact the manufacture and fall for their “parts distribution disconnect” response. This is clearly a failure on Stellantis to repair a recall on a reportedly 306k vehicles recall. I ask the NHTSA not to just call Stellantis but to investigate the actions and inactions they have taken to timely complete these repairs. Investigate if there is a financial benefit to Stellantis to delay these repairs. Investigate if the replacement part is identical to the ones used on newly manufactured rams and if so investigate why those units would have an available part or get priority at the dealership (vehicle sale?)vs essentially no parts available for the already sold units. Is Stellantis allocating these parts to timely repair the affected vehicles? A real investigation needs to find out!Read more
