Incident date: Jan 1, 2023
I have had four tires come apart since we purchased this RV. All four times it has been the right front tire. The RV is a double axle with the MORryde independent suspension. I had the tire come apart this past Sunday without warning forcing me to the side of the Freeway. The tire damaged the side of the camper. When taking the tire off I noticed the brake pad was not in its proper location, It wa
... s falling out of the caliper and the brake caliper was also extremely loose. I couldn't find any mobile service company on a Sunday evening, so, I had to remove the caliper, remove the brake pad and reinstall the caliper without the pad. The caliper clips were bent out of shape allowing the caliper to become loose. I had to straighten the clips with a hammer. I Installed the spare tire, turned off the trailer brakes and towed it back to our seasonal campground. Not the safest thing to do but I had no choice. The caliper clips were replaced in July of 2021 because at that time I had the caliper and rotor come loose putting us on the side of the road. Dexter axle sent me improved caliper clips stating that they were heat treated and the original clips were not. They paid a repair facility to install the improved parts. I reported that issue to you at that time and you required DRV to do a recall. I feel I have been extremely lucky that the front tire hasn't caused the rear tire come apart too, causing me to lose control. These issues caused us to be seasonal campers for the last two seasons reducing the number of times we tow it. We have only put 1500 miles on the camper since the first brake failure in July of 2021. I have monitored the tires temperature since our first tire failure. The right front tire is always 20-30 degrees hotter. I believe it is a brake/axle problem. DRV feels no responsibility as we are out of warranty. Copy and paste link for video [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On Saturday September 16, 2023, I opened the trunk of my car and when I reached in to retrieve my backpack, I suddenly heard a very loud bang and a long bar swung towards me and struck me across my face and luckily my eyeglasses kept the broken metal bar from striking my eyes. My eyeglasses remained in one piece but received a long scratch on it’s surface. At the same time the broken metal bar h

It is indeed a safety hazard that must be reported. There could be a defect in the part, improper installation or both. This is the second time this happened (2016 first incident not reported). I had Ocean Honda install a new set of the torsion bars on Tuesday September 19, 2023. Praying they will not suddenly snap again and hurt someone seriously.Read more

As a longtime Honda owner, I've had 6 other Honda vehicles, I purchased this vehicle for my son when he turned 16. Soon after I purchased my new vehicle, I noticed the steering seemed "stif

I would constantly be gripping the wheel in order to steer the vehicle, even on straight, highway roads. I stopped allowing my son to drive the vehicle because of my safety concerns. I would attempt to set the cruise control so I wouldn't have to be 'fighting the wheel' and after a short amount of time with cruise control on, cruise control would automatically shut off for no apparent reason. This issues happened on multiple occasions. I took the vehicle to my dealer, over 80 miles one way, on multiple occasions. I showed them video of the steering issues that the passenger took when this would occur. They couldn't get the problem to duplicate. Finally after the third trip to the dealership, they submitted for warranty request to replace the steering column. On the fourth trip, the steering column was replaced. This is obviously a major safety concern!Read more
