After I rented a car, I went to the dealership. However, the Service Department was closed after 4:00 pm. The next day (Monday), I received text messages that they're working on my car and the only communication was "text messages." I was stunned! The next message was transmission problem, the cost of repairing it, and authorization to fix at $1,581.40. Because my rental car was not cheap and needed a car to doctors and other appointments made on that week, I agreed to proceed. After I signed the authorization from text messages, I got a call from a service advisor to acknowledge the cost of the repair. I asked about the engine and he said it's okay. By Wednesday afternoon, I received a call that my car was done. Before this incident (2 weeks?), I called the same dealership when it's time for an oil change, but was told at 72,000 miles. Then I received a call that my car needs a transmission check up for $1,200 or more, but I told him I'll wait for the next oil change. Last year, I reported to other dealership that my engine light was on, but was told to go to Autozone. I didn't do it because the light didn't appear again. My car has been maintained by local dealership since I bought it in 2016. One dealership would not pick up my calls after fixing the side door locked from inside/outside. But just like a wide range of cars from Ford especially this model that I've purchased has a serious problem with excessive rust which make the car very dangerous to drive. Mind's speaking I've had to have framework done to my vehicle and change multiple suspension parts because of all the rust my transmission pan literally fell apart and all the oil came because it was so rusted. My stabilizer links and control arms have fell apart in which obstructs the steering which also caused a safety hazard for me and other people on the road. Ford has a duty to design their cars with a certain level of weather resistance. After doing research I found that there is a wide range of customers who's having the same having the same problems with this year make and model just like other vehicles that are made by ford. All the problems that stated in this complaint having verified by ASE certified mechanics that I've been working on my vehicle. Travelling at the speed of 55 miles per hour the vehicle seemed to completely shut off on its own, thus causing immediate loss of power steering and power brakes. It’s the same issue that the hybrid pacificas were recalled for. It pops up the random stop safely on the dash & then you’re halting to a dead stop & the vehicle shuts off. This has happened several times.

As vehicle is downshifting there is sometimes a slight jerking or hard jerking associated when doing so. This happens a lot also when letting up off of the accelerator or slightly riding the accelerator for example is slow moving traffic. This is a significant jerking, not a smooth jerking when switching gears.

Car repeatedly illuminates check engine light since my purchase on 9/30/2023. When this happens the car goes into limp mode, fails to accelarate and at times stalls. This has happened on the freeway and at busy intersections while driving.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer to have the recall repaired; however, the contact was informed that a replacement transmission was not available to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that sixteen days later, the contact was informed that the transmission was shipped to be rebuilt. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The rear crossmember subframe on my vehicle is completely rusted out which caused serious suspension issue and cause the control arm to be in contact with the fuel tank. It didnt go through the tank because i found the issue on time and stopped driving the vehicle but it caused damage to the tank. If I didnt stop driving the car it was just a matter of time before the control arm perforated the ta
... nk, which could have been a lot worse with a risk of fire. This looks to be a common issue with Nissan cars so I’m not sure how there is no recall for it. I keep the vehicle maintained properly and bring it to the dealer for repairs. The dealer also performed a lot of work on the rear suspension of my car a couple of years ago but never mentioned anything to me about this major rust on the crossmember subframe.Read more
