As I was coasting into a parking space perpendicular to a curb, sidewalk, and store fronts, about a foot from the curb, the engine ROARED and rapidly accelerated. I removed my foot from the pedal and crashed into a pole supporting the canopy over the sidewalk. The impact was so great that the airbags deployed and the car bounced back onto the parking lot. Several lights on the dash illuminated wh
... ile this happened and I definitely saw "Electrical Malfunction". The only way I could think to turn the engine off was to force the door open. My cat was in her hard sided carrier on the front passenger seat and the impact and air bags broke the carrier and she was ejected. Clearly the Pre-Sense Front collision warning/avoidance system did not function properly during this unintended acceleration. I am convinced that had there not been a sturdy pole directly in front of the parking space, the car would have continued to accelerate and crashed into the storefront of the restaurant directly ahead - and MANY people could have been injured or worse. The "Electrical Malfunction" light had illuminated several months earlier when starting up after being parked for a short time but when I drove the few miles home and turned it off, then on again, it did not illuminate so I forgot to report this to the dealership. This car had been returned to the dealer several times during the two years I have owned it for several recalls, an unresolved air conditioner warning light, and a "known" problem with the brakes getting locked up after getting wet.Read more

The coolant pump on my BMW has failed due to a known recall issue (NHTSA Recall Number 24V608). Despite the recall being issued months ago, BMW has not provided a timely fix or remedy. As a result, the coolant pump began leaking, causing my vehicle to overheat and leak coolant, which has led to further damage and significant safety concerns. This issue put my safety and the safety of others at ri
... sk because the overheating occurred while driving, potentially leading to engine failure or an accident. The problem has been confirmed by my BMW dealer, but no repair has been made due to the lack of an available remedy. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer beyond the dealer visit, and no inspections have been performed by police or insurance representatives. There were no specific warning lamps or messages indicating a coolant pump failure prior to the initial overheating incident, although the vehicle did eventually display warnings about engine overheating. The failure is directly related to the unresolved recall issue, and I am requesting that BMW expedite a remedy to prevent further damage and safety risks.Read more

Intermittent Power Steering Malfunction while driving causing car to violently "self-steer". Vehicle is NOT equipped with adaptive cruise control or lane assist features. Vehicle is only ever serviced at the same dealership where originally purchased. Upon occurrences of malfunction, vehicle was taken to dealership for diagnostic testing. The dealership's determination is that there is an electrical fault inside the Electronic Power Steering Gearbox. The dealer was able to duplicate the electrical malfunction while test driving. Vehicle currently remains at dealership indefinitely until operating hazard remedied. Original OEM malfunctioning EPS gear box still installed on vehicle as of 12/16/2024 and is available for requested inspection. Since current existing recalls for the EPS gearbox were not applied to this vehicle, Customer is forced to pay out of pocket ($1400 part plus $600 labor) to fix. The Nissan Leaf was in Eco Mode and ePedal at the time of the incident. I believe that the transition from regenerative braking to mechanical braking delayed the stopping of my vehicle. We were lucky that this happened in a very low consequence situation, but if this happened with a pedestrian or at a higher speed where emergency braking is required, this delay in braking could be dire. In addition, this vehicle is equipped with automatic emergency braking. I have heard this feature go off before in this specific car when a car is braking faster than I am. In this case, the alarm and assisted braking did not go off, despite a car stopping within extremely close proximity.Read more

Unusual behavior with the "Driver Assistance System", specifically CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and RDMS (Road Departure Mitigation System) warning messages appear too frequently. The first time this error appeared was when driving home from the lot after purchasing the vehicle (Bought at 56 miles). After the first appearance I've seen this error appear ~60% of the time when drivin

My vehicle was inspected by the purchase dealer's service personnel, but they claim that there is no error logs recorded on the car's s and they could not replicate the error. At their direction I have since brought back the vehicle to monitor for the errors again so I can bring it back to the dealer for them to try to replicate this error again... I am aware of the CMBS issue with Honda vehicles up to 2022. I am very sad and surprised that the 2025 vehicles also have this issue. I have not YET randomly braked on the freeway (thank god) but I am fearful that my vehicle is next because Honda says they cannot find an issue currently. After noticing the frequent appearance of the warnings, I began documenting the warnings to the best of my ability with photos. To be safe I am unable to document the photo while driving so I am only able to take the pictures on the occasion when I am in the passenger seat when my wife is driving. I have attached two instances of when these errors pop up, one instance at 192 miles Parked, and one instance later driving at 35 MPH at 196 miles. Unfortunately, due to my misplaced faith in Honda, I was unable to document the previous warnings, but I will try my best to safely document all future ones. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my concern regarding my 2014 Hyundai Sonata, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): [XXX] , which is currently experiencing excessive oil consumption. I have recently become aware of Recall Campaign 162, which addresses a manufacturing defect that can lead to premature engine wear and related issues. Despite regular maintenance and proper care, my ve
... hicle consumes an abnormal amount of oil, causing me to frequently top off the oil between oil changes. This not only increases my maintenance costs but also raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of my vehicle. **A trusted service provider has confirmed that the oil consumption in my vehicle is abnormal and is likely related to the defects outlined in Recall Campaign 162.** As stated in the recall, the machining errors during the engine manufacturing process can restrict oil flow to the bearings, leading to premature bearing wear. Although my vehicle does not currently exhibit any visible oil leaks, the oil consumption issue suggests underlying damage that could potentially lead to engine failure. Considering the potential risks and the known issues with the Theta II engine, I kindly request that my vehicle be inspected and, if necessary, repaired under the terms of Recall Campaign 162. I urge you to address this matter promptly to ensure the safety and reliability of my vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Vehicle Purchase from BMW of Devon Dear BMW Customer Relations Team, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience with a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle purchased from BMW of Devon. As a loyal BMW customer, I expected a higher standard of quality and service than what I have experienced. I purchased a 2020 BMW X5 (VIN: [XXX] in October 2023
... with the confidence that it had undergone a rigorous inspection process, as advertised under your CPO program. However, after driving the vehicle for only 5,000 miles within a single year of ownership, I have been informed that the following costly repairs are required: 1. Brake pads replacement 2. RPLC both LW ctrl ar 3. Rear brake rotars 4. Front thrust arms 5. 4wa integral alignment The estimated total cost for these repairs exceeds $5,000, which is entirely unacceptable given the short duration and low mileage since the purchase. This indicates either a lack of proper inspection and servicing by BMW of Devon or a failure to disclose critical information about the vehicle’s condition at the time of sale. As a consumer, I relied on the assurances provided by the BMW CPO program, which is marketed as delivering “ultimate peace of mind” and a vehicle of premium quality. This experience has instead been stressful and costly, undermining my trust in the BMW brand. I demand that BMW of Devon and BMW of North America take full responsibility for these shortcomings by covering the cost of all necessary repairs immediately and free of charge. Anything less would not only fail to rectify this issue but also tarnish BMW’s reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. I hope this matter can be resolved promptly and amicably.
