However, this is not a safety feature, it is a ticket avoidance alert, and the frequent and repetitive alerts create a distraction from safe driving. Key safety concerns: The alert interrupts active phone calls, audio, and music playback at every flagged intersection, regardless of whether I am obeying traffic laws. This forces the driver’s attention away from the road to deal with the disruption or attempt to resume audio. The alert is often triggered in rapid succession when driving through urban areas with multiple camera-monitored intersections, increasing driver stress and reducing focus. Competing manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, Ford, etc.) allow drivers to disable this feature, but Hyundai claims they do not. There is video documentation showing that Hyundai vehicles are capable of disabling this feature via a simple toggle [XXX]. Hyundai’s unwillingness to offer this basic option infringes on the driver’s ability to maintain focus and control over their in-vehicle environment. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this alert poses a safety hazard due to distraction and urge Hyundai to provide an option for owners to permanently disable or mute it. On 7/13/25, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with approximately 50,000 miles on it spontaneously caught fire as I was driving down the highway. The fire appeared to start in the engine compartment and very quickly moved to the entire front end of the vehicle. After leaving the scene, I went to the hospital for psychological injury related to the incident. The investigation into the fire is currently underway. I do not have additional information about the cause or specific location of the fire. The vehicle is currently at a tow yard and is a total loss. It is nearly unrecognizable aside from the frame and a few components in the far rear. I am in the process of documenting all upgrades and modifications. Since it was fully built for off-roading and overlanding, it is a long and challenging task to take inventory of every part. Approximately 3 months before the incident, the vehicle was towed to a local CDJR dealership for a factory recall, where the entire fuel system was replaced. Not sure if this is being enforced by NHTSA, or why Tesla is choosing to disable their auto steer or FSD when drivers are detected to be failing nags - nags should be there to help drivers, and potentially the nag data/cab video can be used after the fact should a user failing nags be involved in an accident for insurance dispute resolution, but shutting the cars down themselves is causing issues.Read more

When we pulled over, the remaining glass appeared to be pushed upward as if the force came from inside the car. I consistently reported the Uconnect error, and each time, I was reassured that an update would eventually be released. I trusted the expertise of the dealership and continued to follow their guidance, despite the inconvenience and growing frustration. On [XXX], during a routine oil change and inspection, the situation worsened significantly. My entire radio system and associated safety features, including lane change alerts and front braking warnings, ceased functioning. I was referred to another location, where a technician (Mark from Store #45473) informed me that the entire radio system needed replacement. However, I was told that my warranty had expired, by only 77 miles, and that I would need to contact Customer Care to seek authorization for repairs. Since then, I have attempted to reach Customer Care at 800-334-9200 multiple times, but I have been repeatedly transferred and disconnected without resolution. I am deeply concerned that despite reporting this issue consistently since 2022, no action was taken until my warranty expired. I brought my truck in because the check engine light was on. My mechanic first replaced the oil pressure sensor, but the check engine light came back on. The oil pressure is low, and the oil pump is the problem. I only have 62,000 miles on the truck, and have kept up with oil changes and maintenance.
