On [XXX], while driving on the freeway, my 2020 Hyundai Palisade suddenly malfunctioned and went up in flames without warning. My young son was in the vehicle with me. Within moments, smoke and fire spread rapidly, forcing us to stop in traffic and escape before the fire fully engulfed the car. The entire vehicle became a total loss. This was a terrifying, life-threatening situation. My safety an
... d my son’s safety were at extreme risk. If my other family members had been in the car, the outcome could have been catastrophic. The emotional trauma from this event is significant and continues to affect us. The incident was reported to the San Antonio Fire Department, who responded to the scene and documented the fire. Their reports confirm the vehicle fire: Incident Report #[XXX] and SAFD Case #[XXX]. After researching, I discovered that similar fires have been reported in Hyundai vehicles, raising concerns that this is part of a wider safety defect. Families should not have to fear their vehicle spontaneously igniting on the road. At the time of the fire, there were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms that suggested the vehicle was unsafe. The failure happened suddenly and without warning. The vehicle has not been inspected by Hyundai at this time, but it is available for inspection upon request. I am urging a full investigation into Hyundai’s design and safety practices, as this fire placed lives in immediate danger. This was not just a mechanical failure—it was a potentially fatal event that could have resulted in severe injury or loss of life.Read more

The forward-facing camera and/or radar unit failed one morning while running errands, resulting in 5 separate ADAS system failures. With these safety features not working, our safety and the safety of others is at risk. We took it to our dealer and were told we would have to pay a diagnostic fee of $205, even though they clearly already knew what the problem was- based on the multiple complaints t
... hrough NHTSA and various other forums and websites from Odyssey and other Honda model owners and across multiple years. The problem was confirmed by the dealer and they quoted us $2025 and we're still not sure if that includes just the camera and/or the radar unit, which is another $600 part. Other dealers have quoted only $1200 to fix the exact same thing, with others charging more than double that. The 5 separate warning messages scroll across our screen repeatedly and are very distracting as you're driving. With multiple electrical issues already in recall status by Honda, this is another one that they should be taking responsibility for and not dumping this defective electrical repair on their customers. Who's to say that we won't be in this exact same predicament 3 or 5 years from now if the part or parts aren't fixed! Definitely expect more from Honda... very disappointed and feel betrayed by the inferior parts they're passing on as quality products.Read more

In our 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L, a few weeks ago 5 different warning lights started coming on when the vehicle was started and continued while the car was driven. Lane Assist, collision warning, auto high beams, braking system and adaptive cruise control. Just yesterday the rear hatch started to malfunction; currently the rear hatch can be opened and closed manually but the power lift does not func
... tion and now is the 6th warning on the driving display. The car was taken to a Honda Dealership for diagnosis, and after paying $99 for the diagnosis of the issues, several other diagnosis fees would be required to get to the root of the issue which the Tech states is most likely a control module malfunction due to a water leak. The fix would then be finding and fixing the leak, then replacing the module and wrapping the module in plastic to prevent future issues. Then more diagnosis fees to find and correct the other issues which could include replacing the multipurpose camera. -If a selling point of the driver assist, collision warning and automatic braking are safety improvements, by default if the system is faulty then ours and others safety is at an increased risk. -the vehicle has been inspected by a dealer -before a few weeks ago no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms were present. All of the symptoms have been rather sudden. We have been getting rain almost daily for the past few weeks.Read more

I lease a 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E. On [XXX] the vehicle suddenly displayed a High-Voltage Battery Fault, Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power warning. This failure shows a major defect in the high-voltage electrical system. Separately, my vehicle is also subject to R
... ecall 25S65 / NHTSA 25V404, where a discharged 12-volt battery can prevent the electronic door latches from opening, risking passenger entrapment. Ford has no remedy available and has only projected a future software update. My car is still at the dealership. These two issues are connected: the HV system (through the HVJB) powers the DC-DC converter that keeps the 12-volt battery charged. A failure on the HV side can starve the 12-volt system, which directly creates the entrapment risk described in the recall. I live in Florida, where extreme heat makes this risk especially dangerous for children, pets, and elderly passengers. What is my emergency plan...carry a hammer to break the windows on every trip? This is an unreasonable and unsafe expectation for consumers. Ford has not provided any fix or assurance of safety. I have specifically asked Ford whether my car is safe to drive — they have not provided any assurances, merely repeating that Ford has not issued a stop-driving order on the vehicle. This unresolved defect substantially impairs the use, value, and safety of my vehicle, and Ford has failed to provide an adequate repair. After pushing the dealership to further look into the issue the mechanic determined the issue was inside the fan assembly (it was assembled in the wrong direction), so they replaced the cooling fan. However, when it failed on the freeway, we were forced to tow the vehicle twice—first to our home and then to Anaheim Hyundai for diagnosis. Hyundai later denied warranty assistance, claiming "exceptional maintenance neglect" despite the fact that we provided all available oil change records since our 2017 purchase. We were not the original owners, yet were expected to produce records dating back to 2013. No sludge or varnish evidence was cited in the repair order, and the dealer simply claimed a seized engine. Around May 2025, the brake booster and pump in the car stopped working. There was no clear warning lamp or indicator prior to it failing. While driving on the highway, the part stopped working and significantly changed the car's braking power. Rather than smoothly braking as it did before, the car's brakes have significantly less braking power. The defective part also affects the car's ABS sys
... tem, making the car unsafe if a sudden stop were required as the brakes will lock up and the car will lose grip on the road and start skidding. Significantly longer braking distances is needed and it's not clear the car would be able to safely stop at a short distance in the event of an emergency. It's a miracle we didn't get into any accidents when the part suddenly failed. There is a significant risk that failure of this part will be the cause of a car accident when the car suddenly no longer brakes how the driver is used to. Toyota has previously offered an extended warranty on the part, but the part did not fail until shortly after the warranty expired. The car has been within my family since it was originally put into service and none of the owners were ever notified that the part could be replaced or even fail in such a manner. The problem has been confirmed by a dealer but they have only offered to fix it at a significant cost. The vehicle does not feel safe to drive. Warning lights only appeared after the part failed but they weren't particularly helpful in diagnosing the problem in the moment because 4 different lights turned on all at once.Read more
