While driving in approximately 10°F weather after the vehicle had been parked outside overnight during snowfall in Chicago, the vehicle displayed a warning that said “Do Not Drive — Maximum Speed 43 MPH.” At the same time, the brake pedal became extremely hard and the vehicle had significantly reduced braking ability, requiring much longer stopping distance. This occurred without any brake
... warning lights beforehand. After the vehicle warmed up and was restarted, the message eventually cleared but then there was a new transmission warning and the check engine light went on. After driving for a long commute, eventually all warnings disappeared. I personally know another 2023 Yukon owner who experienced the exact same message and braking loss under similarly cold conditions, which suggests this may be a broader safety issue affecting this model year. Because this involved a sudden safety-system activation combined with temporary brake loss, there was a real risk of being unable to stop the vehicle safely or avoid a collision. My vehicle is within the year range of GM’s brake-system software recall N242447990 (eBCM brake fluid loss detection issue), and it is unclear whether my case is related, but the symptoms point to a potential systemic braking or electronic brake control problem in the 2023 Yukon. This issue warrants investigation due to the combination of: • Hard brake pedal • Reduced braking performance • Speed-limiting safety warning • No prior diagnostic warning • Occurrence in very cold temperatures A sudden loss of braking ability is a serious safety defect.Read more

I took the car to the dealer and they diagnosed it with code C139: Abnormal Leak at Accumulator Assembly, and recommended a new Brake Booster with Master Cylinder Assembly and Brake Booster Pump Assembly with Bracket. While driving at highway speeds (approx. 65 MPH), the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic loss of motive power. The "Hybrid System Malfunction" warning illuminated, followed immediately by a "Check Engine" light. The vehicle entered a fail-safe mode, then completely shut down. The steering wheel locked, making it extremely difficult to maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder in a dark, remote
... area with freezing temperatures. This presented an immediate life-safety risk to all occupants. Following the incident, the vehicle was presented to two separate authorized Toyota dealerships in the US for emergency assistance. Both failed to provide the standard of care required for a high-voltage safety failure. The first dealer refused to perform even a basic safety inspection or intake the vehicle, stating they had no hybrid technicians on weekends. They turned the vehicle away without safety warnings, forcing the operation of a chemically failing vehicle on public roads. The second dealer attempted to charge a diagnostic fee. However, when questioned, they admitted they also did not have a hybrid-certified technician on site. They attempted to bill for a diagnostic service they knowingly could not perform. This fraudulent charge was only rescinded after it was challenged. They subsequently refused further assistance, leaving the occupants stranded. The vehicle was eventually towed to a third dealer (in Canada) where it was diagnosed with severe corrosion of the High-Voltage Floor Under Wire Harness (MGR Cable), a known defect. The dealer confirmed the rear motor cable was corroded and required replacement. The repair involved replacing the cable and installing a "splash guard" cap. No prior warning signs occurred before the sudden highway shutdown. This failure is a result of the manufacturer's failure to adequately seal high-voltage components against corrosion and the dealer network's gross negligence in refusing emergency safety support.Read more

Incident date: Dec 5, 2025
We have experienced multiple recurring issues with our 2024 GMC Acadia that raise significant safety concerns and affect the vehicle’s reliability and overall operation. First, the brake system exhibits persistent squeaking, even at low speeds or light applications. The dealership has inspected the brakes but the noise continues, raising concerns about premature wear or improper brake function.
... More concerning is the behavior of the automatic braking system while reversing. The system has repeatedly activated the brakes without any obstacle, vehicle, or person behind us. These unexpected braking events have created both physical and psychological stress for occupants and pose a real risk of causing a rear-end collision from another driver who may not anticipate sudden braking. Due to this hazardous condition, we have been forced to deactivate the automatic braking feature entirely, defeating a critical safety system the vehicle is equipped with. Additionally, the engine frequently runs rough during cold start and the initial warm-up period for the first couple of minutes. This rough operation is inconsistent with expected behavior for a new vehicle and has not been fully resolved despite service visits. The TPMS sensors have also been problematic. Several sensors have already been replaced by the dealership, yet we continue to experience intermittent TPMS faults involving at least two wheels. This results in repeated warnings, loss of real-time tire data, and uncertainty about actual tire pressure conditions while driving. We also experience rattling noises from the interior trim near the door seals whenever there is a cross breeze or windy driving conditions. This appears to be a structural or insulation-related issue. We have others, but this space only allows for 2000 characters, and after writing this sentence, there are only 113 characters remaining.Read more

Tesla's Full Self Driving (FSD) stopped my car on trolley tracks today, and would have stayed on the tracks for a minute if I hadn't taken control and driven off the tracks. You are not supposed to enter the zone around the tracks until the vehicle ahead of you has moved fa

The line of traffic was stopped for a red light. I would not have been able to drive forward until the light changed, perhaps over a minute. So, I took over and manually drove the car into the adjacent lane, which luckily was empty, and off the tracks. The vehicle has stalled twice while driving on a fully charged battery. I was using the 1-pedal driving mode (“Range” mode) during both events. When the stall happened, the system applied the brakes and the steering wheel locked, and I was unable to steer. I was able to restart the car after a few seconds each time. The first stall occurred in town at about 35 mph on a busy road. The second o

Both events created a serious safety risk, especially the freeway stall where a collision from a fast-moving vehicle or commercial truck could have been fatal. The specific component that failed is unknown. The vehicle has now been at Ron Tonkin Fiat’s service department for more than two months, and any inspection would need to be arranged directly with them. On Nov 5, 2025, the Service Department Head at Ron Tonkin, Terry Bryan, confirmed he was able to reproduce the stalling issue and said a diagnostic code was present, though he did not tell me what it was. The vehicle has been brought in for this issue four times and has been inspected by Rairdon’s Fiat and Ron Tonkin Fiat. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. After the first stall, multiple warning lights began randomly flashing briefly while driving, and every time the car was charged a “Service Electrical System” warning message appeared. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and

When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified i was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When i was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the ABS system, Airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt bells were going off even though I had my seatbelt on from first getting into the car. My 2022 GMC Yukon with the 6.2L V8 engine is covered under recall 25V274000 for connecting rod and crankshaft defects that can cause engine failure. Approximately three months ago, Wiesner GMC dealership performed the recall inspection and stated the vehicle passed. Recently, the engine suddenly began misfiring on cylinder 6. The failure was sudden and severe—the vehicle started shaking signific
... antly, the check engine light illuminated, and multiple safety sensors began deactivating. The vehicle was clearly unsafe to drive. An independent repair shop diagnosed oil leaking into the cylinder and stated the condition is consistent with internal engine component failure—the same type of defect the recall is meant to address. When I contacted the dealership to have it re-evaluated, they stated my vehicle is no longer under standard warranty and I would be responsible for repairs. After escalating to GM customer service, they confirmed extended coverage exists under Special Coverage N252494003 (10 years/150,000 miles) if the diagnostic confirms the issue is related to the recall defect. The fact that my vehicle passed the recall inspection three months ago and is now exhibiting the exact failure symptoms the recall was designed to prevent raises concerns that the inspection procedure may not be detecting all affected engines. The component (engine) is available for inspection. This defect poses a serious safety risk as the sudden loss of power and deactivation of safety systems could cause a crash.Read more

The vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof and there is a ~8inch wide piece of glass that is between the windshield and the sunroof. While driving on the highway, at approximately 80mph, with no other cars or hazards in front of the vehicle, this piece of glass shattered. We heard a loud popping sound, immediately followed by shattering/cracking noises. It was not struck by any rocks or debris. Af
... ter arriving at my location, the vehicle was immediately inspected at a Hyundai dealership where the determined the damage to be a manufacturing defect. This damage decreases the structural integrity of the vehicle and subjects it to water and electrical damage. There are multitudes of similar reports on forums across the internet. The damage currently remains present on the vehicle and photos have been taken. The damage has been assessed by two Hyundai dealerships but an insurance claim has not been filed as I am currently seeking the damage be covered under the basic 5yr/60,000 mile warranty.Read more

While driving at approximately 40 mph, my Alfa Romeo Stelvio suddenly lost all power without warning. The vehicle went from operating normally to immediately illuminating multiple warning lights on the dashboard. I was unable to accelerate and nearly struck by another vehicle due to the sudden loss of power. I had to coast to the side of the road and have the vehicle towed to a repair shop. Upon
... inspection, it was determined that the fuel pump had failed. I was informed by the technicians that this is a common issue in Alfa Romeo’s and that the previous two model years have already had fuel pump–related recalls. This sudden failure created a serious safety hazard and appears to be part of an ongoing pattern.Read more

I am reporting a recurring safety issue involving engine stalling in active traffic due to excessive oil loss and internal component failure. This has occurred three times within approximately 12,000 miles and has created dangerous conditions for my family, including my 2.5 year old child who rides in the vehicle. Summary of incidents: • May 15, 2025 – 61,736 miles: Vehicle stalled in traffi
... c and lost acceleration. Dealership confirmed abnormal noise and low oil, but no oil consumption test was ordered. • Fall 2025 – 66,448 miles: Vehicle stalled and died on the highway. Diagnosis showed broken camshaft timing components. Service invoice states the engine oil system was too low and caused internal failures. Major timing components replaced. • October 30, 2025 – 69,175 miles: Vehicle stalled in traffic again. Oil was low after only 2,727 miles since previous repair. Dealer advised oil consumption test after another 1,000 miles, but I do not feel the vehicle is safe to drive due to repeated stalling and internal failures. At the most recent incident the dealership confirmed the oil level was again low, but did not identify the cause or perform consumption testing until after repeated failures. These repeated stall events are serious safety hazards and could result in a collision or injury. I have lost confidence in the safety of the vehicle. Based on consultation with an experienced engine mechanic, underlying internal damage from oil starvation is likely and may indicate piston ring or engine defect consistent with known Hyundai/Kia oil consumption issues. Hyundai has declined to provide a buyback or full repair solution and the vehicle continues to demonstrate dangerous conditions. We have purchased a full warranty for the engine but warranty company will not cover it as they are saying this is a pistons issue - wear and tear. I am requesting NHTSA investigation and assistance to ensure this defect is addressed before someone is injured.Read more
