Breaking system failed, it is available for inspection, I told the state trooper what happened along with several police officers, they agreed that the breaking system was not supposed to lock up which caused the car to skid several feet and the end results are that a very bad wreck happened which left my car undrivable and locked up, the car front disk breaks , front wheel drive,there not suppose

NHTSA Safety Defect Report – 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Tailgate Light Bar Condensation My 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning has moisture and condensation building up inside the rear tailgate light bar. ... ion collects behind the lens, especially around the reverse light section, and becomes worse after it rains or after I wash the truck. Lately, I’ve noticed the reverse lights flicker at times, which makes me think the moisture is getting into the electrical components. If the reverse lights go out or stop working properly, it becomes a safety concern because other drivers and pedestrians may not see that I’m backing up. This could easily cause an accident, especially at night or in parking lots. I brought the truck to a Ford dealer and was told that my VIN isn’t part of the recall and that I’m just outside of the 36,000-mile warranty. The truck currently has around 37,000 miles. They said they couldn’t replace the light bar unless Ford adds my VIN to the recall. The issue clearly matches the same defect Ford already acknowledged, which involves moisture getting into the tailgate light bar due to cracks or poor sealing. I believe Ford’s recall should be expanded to include more 2023 model trucks like mine that are having the same problem. It’s not an isolated case, and I’ve seen other owners reporting identical issues online with newer builds. Since this involves lighting that affects safety when reversing, it should be handled even if the truck is just outside warranty coverage. Luckily I was in a parking lot and not on the main road. If this happened on the main road at speed, I fear I may have lost control of the vehicle as it was jerking and jumping and the vehicle was uncontrollable which would have put other drivers at risk of collision and possible injury. Dealership has confirmed the issue, replaced the rear locker and sensors in the axle, and the symptoms persist for them too. They are currently looking into the electrical system and computer as the root cause. Chrysler is recommending the dealer replace the rear axle as the only means of fixing the issue. Apparently this is a growing issue that Chrysler has been aware of for several years. Vehicle is currently in the shop at the dealership for troubleshooting.Read more

The system would display “Driver Assistance Features Unavailable – Service Soon” and immediately disable all assisted-driving functions, even in clear weather and well-marked lanes. This occurred intermittently from approximately 1,
... 200 miles onward and continued for over a year despite multiple repair attempts by the manufacturer’s service centers. The malfunction directly affected safe operation, as the system could disengage without warning at highway speeds, forcing sudden driver intervention. The issue was reproduced and documented by the manufacturer’s technicians during at least one service visit, which resulted in replacement of the vehicle’s driver-assistance computer. The failure continued even after that replacement. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced numerous times by the manufacturer, with diagnostics performed on the cooling system, cameras, sensors, and ADAS module. Each repair attempt either failed to duplicate or failed to permanently correct the defect. The safety risk is loss of Adaptive Cruise Control and Highway Assist functions while driving, unexpected disengagement of automated steering/braking, and lack of reliable warning timing to the driver. Warning messages appeared frequently throughout 2024–2025, beginning within the first few months of ownership. Full foot on the brake, and I know for certain I wasn't accidentally hitting the accelerator because on the first "jump" I checked to make sure. It lurched through the brakes multiple times bucking like a cammed car would. Then threw all these warning lights, turtle icon came up saying speed limited, and the collision
... lights came on as well as traction control was disabled. Shut off and wouldn't power back on for a few minutes leaving the entire front half of my car sitting in oncoming traffic. I've had this issue since day one. At first I thought it was from having the seats back in the furthest most position, but after testing its not. One of my friends legs got caught when trying to get out causing him to fall. Another's entire body was pinched because they cant get out in under 5 seconds.. If you have children do NOT put them in the back if you are having this issue. There is no safety mechanism in place and you have to way for the seat to go back all the way and reset the setback to get it to move forward again. Quickest solution I've found to get someone out in this situation is to allow it to fully adjust back, and manually adjusting the seat forward. I have not been able to charge the vehicle consistently at any stations since purchase in 8/28. I would get nonstop errors, having to un-plug and re-plug in the vehicle every 5-10%, sometimes not even working at all. I've been left stranded with less than 5% left and when I returned to the dealership to get an emergency charge just to get home they called the police on me and trespassed me from their lot.. I've only been able to get it to work at a tesla charger once. I've used multiple different adapters from Amazon including the Dewalt and Lectron adapters. The only one that's worked so far is the charger in Easton, MD with the magic dock connector already installed.Read more

Starting in approximately mid 2023 the vehicle began to leak oil. This was noted once the vehicle was parked after driving. There were various amounts of oil pooled underneath the oil filter housing on the ground. At this time it had approximately 70,000 miles. ... are many instances where a strong burning smell comes from the engine compartment especially when traveling at higher speeds (highway driving). It was determined that the oil filter housing had cracked and was the source of the oil leak. The cost for repair was approximately $800 for labor and the part, having to spend additional money to get a rental car. The mechanics stated that they have had to replace this same part on many other Jeep Wranglers that are the same make/year. The mechanic did say that another jeep that had the same problem did catch on fire due to the oil running down through the heated engine as this part is made of plastic and situated on the top side of the engine. My Jeep is current on all maintenance and there has been no accident to cause this part to crack. I was made aware that previous models had metal housing, as opposed to plastic hence there not being an issue. By the time we figured out the source of the leak, it was no longer under warranty, so I had the work completed by a local mechanic instead of the dealer. No warnings, not even a low oil pressure or check engine light came on. It was the burning smell and oil loss that made me aware of an issue. Once again, at approximately 100,000 miles it has happened again. The mechanic I originally brought it to is out of business, but the part would be out of warranty regardless. Now I am stuck spending another approximately 1,000 to have it replaced again, with the same part that will inevitably crack again. I am the original owner of this vehicle and have used this vehicle as my primary vehicle that has been well maintained in excellent mechanical condition with no accidents. The issue is the continuous flexing of the wire harness routed from the truck to body opening which continues to wiring shorts and breakage resulting in failure of the rear back up lamps, rear taillamp lighting and back up ca

Failure of these critical safety related items provide increased risk of personnel injury and property due to loss of rear visibility to the vehicle operator along with disabling the back up light signature to warn surrounding vehicle traffic of intended backup maneuvering leading to personnel injury and vehicle collision. A caution signal of backup lamp outage appears on the instrument panel along with continued outage and flicking of the rear camera function. This wire harness has been repaired at the Chrysler Dodge dealership multiple times via a deductible warranty charged to vehicle owner, never resolving the failure from once again reoccurring. Recently the rear camera and backup lamps have again failed which the Chrysler dealership has identified as being within the previously repaired wire harness. Due to the multiple times the dealership has attempted to make repairs, the dealership service records now state the wiring failures can no longer be repaired due to the poor harness condition. These aforementioned safety lighting /rear lighting devices are no longer functioning and vehicle service being denied. Repairs to this wire harness have only been made at the Chrysler dealership. This wire harness is a well known problem area to owners and a "nuisance problem" to vehicle repair technicians. A more robust harness design and routing engineered to account for wire harness flexing to account for typical trunk open/closing to maintain the expected integrity and operation of these safety items.Read more

The cover for the seat belt and airbag on the front passenger seat have become disconnected without any incident causing such. Possibly not allowing the seat belt or airbag to function properly. Also the airbag sensor & seatbelt sensor for this seat stopped working at the same time the cover became un attached to the frame. It makes the seatbelt very hard to use and not sure it would function prop

Unfortunately, the owners of the other Fusions (like me) found out their vehicle was no longer under warranty, and they had to foot the entire bill. Luckly for me, I had purchased the Ford Extended Warranty, and my out-pocket pocket is $100. I was told by the dealership that Ford is aware of this issue but has not issued a recall. My service advisor was absolutely shocked when Ford authorized the necessary repairs in a couple hours berceuse it normally takes a few days to get authorization. I have owned this car since it was new and have always kept up with the required maintenance. They gave me a rental vehicle and said it would be about 7 days before the repairs are completed.Read more
