While driving and operating the heater, unbeknowst to me leaves/pine needles had come in through the fresh air cowl vent and built up on the heater blower resistor resulting in a fire. This design in dangerous as the default for the air intake is open and allows debris to enter and drop directly into the fan and blower motor resistor. I was forced to replace the battery out of pocket just to safely drive the vehicle, but the original leaking battery and the exposure incident should still be investigated. She attempted to carefully reach a nearby dealership. During this attempt, the vehicle completely shut off and she lost all engine power. The vehicle lost all power making the final turn into the dealership coming to rest in the middle of oncoming traffic of a four lane road. The Suburban would not restart. A tow truck arrived and transported the vehicle to a dealership. When they arrived, the tow driver noticed smoke and a strong burning odor coming from the engine compartment and told her to move away from the vehicle because it could potentially catch fire. The vehicle was left in the lot with the hood open and positioned away from the building for safety. The dealership has determined the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and requires complete replacement. Multiple related components may also be affected. This occurred on a vehicle with only 54,000 miles that was purchased three months earlier. This incident created a serious safety risk for my wife, who was nearly stranded on an interstate and had to maneuver a powerless vehicle across several lanes of traffic. This issue has caused the vehicle to jerk, lose acceleration, and even stall in the middle of an intersection during rush-hour traffic while my children were in the car, creating a serious safety hazard. These warnings and symptoms are constant, and the power-reduction events occur unpredictably. No official inspection has been completed by the manufacturer. The incident happened on August 27, 2025, at about 8:30 in the morning when I was trying to park the car in a parking lot. As I came to the parking space to park the car with my foot on the brake pedal, the car accelerated all of a sudden after it had stopped before I could shift the gear lever to “Park”. The car went over the curb. I reversed and tried to park the car again in the same spot.
... The car accelerated again and went over the curb, and this time ended up going all the way to the two-way traffic road located ahead of the curb. Fortunately, there was no traffic on the road at that time and no pedestrian on the sidewalk, and no one got hurt. The car stopped in the middle of the road. I drove back to the parking lot and tried to park the car again in the same spot. This time the car stopped without any incident. The dashboard said, “System Malfunction” and said to take the car to the dealership. I drove to the Lexus dealership without any incident. There was significant damage in the front and both sides of the car. I told Lexus what had happened. A case manager was assigned. An inspector was sent to inspect the car. After the inspection, he sent me a report. The report was technical in nature and had graphs and data points without any explanation. I could not understand the report. He told me that the report was sent to Toyota and Toyota would get back to me after they had analyzed the data downloaded by him. Toyota sent me the report, and the report said that my foot was on the accelerator at that time and the car functioned properly. I am pretty sure that my foot was on the brake pedal at that time and not on the accelerator. Toyota was not willing to answer any questions I had and told me to get a second opinion. Currently, my car is in the auto body shop being repaired via my insurance. Even though, no further incident has happened to date, I am afraid that this could happen again in the future, possibly badly hurting or even killing people.Read more

When going into Reverse the passenger side mirror angles down to see curbs. When putting back into Drive it should be going back up to normal angle, but 20% of the time it does not go back up. If you're driving in the dark you may not know it's reverted back up and get into a car accident. Dealership said there are no issues and a technician stated it goes back up at +9 mph. I had just parked my vehicle in my drive and turned it off. I opened my door then sat back in my seat to stretch my back, sitting straight up with my head against the headrest, before getting out. Our engine seized due to a safety recall while traveling on a major interstate. We received notice of the safety recall from Ford and asked to have it fixed by our local dealership. This was August 20, 2025. We were told by the dealership’s service manager that there were 2 or 3 cars ahead of us and call back the first of September. We was told it couldn’t be scheduled at the time and it should be okay for us to go on our scheduled 8 hour trip. The car seized on Oct. 26, 2025 and we were 4 hours away from home. At that time, we had to have it towed to local dealership there and were stranded. The low oil light came on just minutes before it seized. We contacted the state police to be there with us as we waited for help and had to pay to stay overnight. Our car is still 4 hours away and is supposed to be fixed as soon as the engine comes in. This was a safety recall and we were advised to travel in a car which was not safe and Ford knew it. We do not have any paperwork except the safety recall as it has not been repaired.Read more
