The locking mechanism on the passenger rear sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when unlocking. It is so loud that it can be heard up to 15 feet from the vehicle. We just bought a 2017 Grand Caravan from a dealer. The door makes a loud buzzing sound when you use the lock or try to open the door. A recall on the shifter cable bushing was said to be completed on 01/15/20 at Shelor Motor Mile, Christiansburg, VA. On 08/21/21, the bushing broke and came off the shifter cable, leaving the car stuck in gear. In between the time of the alleged recall repair and this happening (~18 months), my car was driven from 40,000 to 60,000 miles. I believe the dealer dishonestly said they fixed the recall

A recalled part that was fixed should not have failed less than 2 years and 20,000 miles later. I am now left to fix the repairs on my own. The touch screen display (UConnect 8.4 with Nav) has fluids forming under the screen that are causing 'ghost clicks'. While driving, the ghost clicks are causing unintended phone calls, navigation changing, and climate control interactions. This is extremely distracting while driving, and causing the driver to redirect their vision to the screen while driving. This has a high potential to cause driving accidents, as the ghost touches effect navigation, which can fluster drivers with random changes in rapid succession. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? 3.) This is a widespread and well documented problem that is known to Dodge, and their family of dealerships. It spans across 2017/2018 vehicle models with 8.4inch UConnect displays. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? 4.) Not to my knowledge. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? 5.) There are no warning indications for this issue. The driver side rear sliding door has stopped functioning. It is stuck closed. The lock does not move manually or electronically, the manual door handles do nothing, and the automatic door opening function does nothing. This is a major safety hazard. It’s possible that in an accident that the left slider would be the best way to reach several passengers.

System: Electrical system failed and car completely lost power (for at least the fourth time), this time while driving. Yes, this car is available for inspection with some advance warning. Safety: If I had been driving in a less safe area at a higher speed and the car just shut off like it did today, but in the middle of the highway, I would have been in danger of getting hit by other drivers.
... Reproduced: The problem is intermittent. The problem has happened at least four times PLUS the numerous times it doesn't start the first time but will the second time I turn the key. Inspected: The car has not yet been inspected, except for being with the dealer for an entire day in July for recall work, cracked oil valve gasket, and various service work. Messages: After turing a corner (traveling about 25 mph on a military installation), dashboard indicators flashed on and off several times. After pulling over as much as possible (with no shoulders) and coming to a stop the car completely lost power. It would not restart, the hazard lights did not work, and I could not remove the key from the ignition. After about 10 minutes the electrical systems began coming back on, starting with the hazard lights. After a couple more minutes I was able to start the car and proceed on to work. I had recall work done in July to address a PCM software issue regarding oil pressure and mechanical stalls. This battery is less than a year old and the technician said the alternator and old battery were both good. Two other times recently the car simply would not start - no indicator lights, no cranking, no sound, nothing. Also, two years ago when trying to start the car, all indicator needles moved rapidly between high and low and would not stop even after removing the key. Eventually they stopped but the battery was ruined. I'll probably trade the car in so it can kill someone else.Read more

The incident that occurred involved my clutch and transmission. I had purchased the car (8/17/2021)about 2 weeks before complete failure. Everything was going fine until I entered the freeway (8/26/2021)and after driving around 5 miles in 6th gear doing about 65 with no initial issues, I started to smell something burning. I immediately looked for the safest way to get out of traffic. While slowin
... g, gears weren’t shifting and I was basically stuck in neutral. I only had control of brakes and steering wheel which caused me to have to make extremely dangerous evasive maneuvers. Once safe, I was able to find the source of the smoke. Which turned out to be dot 3 from where, what I think is the slave cylinder connects to the top of the transmission. I was able to remove it to check for damage/defection. It was dripping dot 3 and I didn’t see any noticeable defects. Plugged it back. Tried to drive and the clutch engages to start vehicle/change gears. But gears were able to change without clutch as well. Yet i couldn’t get out of neutral. Towed it home, next day clutch pedal was on the floor with no pressure. All components are available for inspection upon request, the safety of everyone involved was put at risk due to me not having any control of anything but the brakes and steering; with no warning or idea of what could be wrong due to the instantaneous nature of the disastrous incident. On a public highway with people going speeds of up to 85 mph. I have not been able to get confirmation or reproduction by anyone. I have not had any inspection due to my lack of knowledge on this process. There was no warning light or indication that the incident was going to happen until I had limited-no control.Read more

The plastic shift lock out located in the console is a plastic piece and should be replaced with a metal or aluminum piece by a Recall or at least a Technical Bulletin. My vehicle has been recalled, I believe, twice for the Fuel Pump Relay (Campaigns R09 or P54) . On June 21, 2021 I scheduled an appointment with my local World Chrysler Dodge Jeep store to have the recall performed. ... NOT corrected the issue with the Fuel Pump Relay. I had once incident in June 2021 where the car stalled in the middle of an intersection and I was in serious danger of being hit by other vehicles travelling toward my car. I was fortunate that there were a few people who pushed my car off to the side of the road. This past week alone, my car has had three incidences when I start the car, the engine turns over, and then immediately stalls. You cannot immediately restart because the engine will just crank, but not turn over. You must wait a few minutes before you can restart the vehicle. There are the same issues I was experiencing before the new relay pumb was replaced. In my opinion, in addition to the stalling, the new relay has made my car run very sluggish. It is not very responsive when pressing my foot on the gas pedal, it bogs down first, and then it begins to respond. It has been dangerous when I am trying to enter a busy roadway and need the vehicle to go quickly so I can merge in to traffic. It just bogs down. This is not just a one time incident, the car has stalled at least 5 times since the replacement in June 2021. Today alone, August 28, 2021 it started/stalled twice. No inspection of the component has been done. I tried to get a second new replacement but was told that too many people were on the waiting list, and there weren't enough new parts to redo the work already done on my vehicle. No warning lights of any kind come on and there are no other symptoms of the proble before it occurs. No one has been able to reproduce the problem.Read more

And it lines up with the fuel relay or fuse I can't remember which one it was that was happening on similar makes models and this year. I believe this should be involved in that recall, but it's not showing that it is.
