The headrest deployed while parked in my drive way. It’s supposed to be a safety feature for accidents but I’d the drivers side deploys next when I drive it will cause an accident. I am now uncomfortable driving unsure of when it will happen again.

My car qualifies for a recall for the Dodge Grand Caravan transmission pump. The dates of affected caravans were from July 31 2015 to April 18th 2016. The contact floored the brakes however they failed. The contact had to avoid other traffic. The contact stated that during this time they often came within the 3 feet parameter for the Collision Warning to activate however it failed to do so each time it should have. They put their foot on the accelerator where a warning light that stated service regarding speed warning light. The contact lifted the accelerator backwards with their foot to release some of the pressure and pressed the brake at the same time for the vehicle to eventually relieve its own control where the contact was able to control the vehicle. The contact stated that it wasn't till about three minutes later they were able to pull over and come to a stop. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who were unable to locate the service history. The vehicle had not been diagnosed and or repaired. Substantial exhaust gases can accumulate in the garage space during this period, with substantial risk of carbon monoxide existing in that space and permeation into adjacent living spaces. This owner contends that the vehicle designers should have anticipated this and similar senarios, and should have provided, by design, a means by which the remote start function can be disabled/enabled as desired by the vehicle owner or by Dodge service. Presently, there is no feature to disable remote start. Local Dodge service indicated that the only option is a key fob without remote start button. Seems like the fuel pump issue was known by Dodge and should be covered in a safety recall as the TIPM control module used is faulty. Instead of a safety recall, Dodge issued an external relay part to fix the faulty part, but then didn't cover the cost of it for its customers.Read more

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate, and the RPM was at zero. The contact mentioned that there was a high pitch whining sound. The vehicle coasted and failed to shift gears. Additionally, once the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle jerked forward and was able to operate. The contact stated that

The vehicle was seen by an independent mechanic where the contact was informed to reverse the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to reverse. The contact mentioned that the vehicle needed to be shifted into neutral and the mechanic pushed the vehicle back to check the vehicle. In addition, the contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to exceed 25 MPH a few hours later. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired.
