Vehicle will not starts (even though it cranks). The problem as with previous model year Durangos is the Fuel Pump Relay (FPR) inside the Total Integrated Power Module (TIPM). On previous model year Durangos (2011-2013) they have been recalled because if the fuel pump power supply is cut when the vehicle is in motion it could cause an accident. Luckily this condition has not happened to me. So
... metimes the vehicle do start and if I use it it has not turned off by itself up to now. The TIPMs were redesigned on 2014-2015 but the fuel pump relay problem carries on. Please have FCA recall these vehicles as well with the FPR inside the TIPM failing. Thank you.Read more

The drivers side headrest popped open while I was sitting in the parking lot and adjusting my seat before I drove off. The metal pin is missing and the plastic part that was holding it is broken. No accident, just opened on its own. That would have been bad if it hit me while I was driving down the street.

In 2013 I bought a new Dodge Dart Limited from a Dodge dealer. I bought the car in March and by October when it got cooler outside, it was evident there were some electrical issues related to the Uconnect screen blanking out and dash lights flickering while driving or when ABS engaged, and engine and battery lights on. The whole car seemed like it was resetting as everything electrical flickered a
... nd turned off and then on again. I took the car back to the dealership while it was under warranty at least 3 times to no avail. It would sometimes come back on after turning the car off for a period of time but then it turned off and stayed off for days. The Dodge mechanics claimed they could not get the problem to come up for them at all during yearly visits from 2014-2018. I researched the internet for solutions and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seemed to fix it so that became a temporary resolution. After a while it became much more consistent and the battery trick didn't always work anymore. So I went to a second Dodge dealership in 2019 when my car was at the end of it's warranty and they did see the issue occur and decided to replace the screen all together. That next winter the problem came back so I went back to the dealership and this time they replaced the body control module. It's the next winter and the center console is completely out so I cannot control hazard lights, the turn signals don't make noise, backup camera is out, seat controls don't work, rear defrost never turns on but the front defrost blasts hot air constantly causing fog. I feel unsafe as I cannot see out of the rear window due to consistent under 40 degrees temps. The dash lights went completely out yesterday and I could not see my speedometer, but it came back on 60 min later. The engine and battery lights are on constantly since the weather changed. The dash lights are a huge safety concern as I don't know how fast I'm driving and it happens while the car is in motion.Read more

The 2018 Dodge Durango has a blown rear shock. I have wore shocks out but never seen blown seals. The car barely has 50k and is not covered under warranty, or my extended warranty. I have contacted Mopar who makes these vehicles, and they were not interested in repairing this with the warranty and referred me to the NHTSA. The passenger (right) side rear sliding door has gotten stuck and will not unlock manually. It has been stuck for about a year and after going to the dealer they’re claiming it’s a common defect that is hard to repair. We are unable to enter the car from the passenger side rear sliding door and hopefully the driver side sliding door doesn’t get stuck, otherwise we will be unable to exit the
... car, which can be excessively dangerous while in an accident type incident. This door being stuck is already reasonably dangerous since our kids are unable to exit the vehicle curb side and must exit on the drivers (left) side of the vehicle. Door became stuck 3 years after it was new, with just under 45,000 miles on the car. When trying to unlock the door with the automatic door button it will just make a sort of buzzing noise.Read more

We took it to the dealer on November 18th and have yet to get it back. We called Chrysler and opened a case. They told us that the only thing they could do is to expedite the part and the dealer has the other one. Chrysler is expediting the differential, the dealer was to get the part on December 9th. The part still isn't here. I have called Chrysler several times and nothing is being done. Today I called and Chrysler is blaming the dealer for telling them they got the part when they didn't get it. Then, Chrysler was trying to blame the shipping carrier with is UPS. I think these parts the differential and the viscous coupler should be recall before someone get killed. Chrysler has known about these parts since 2013 and they haven't done anything about it.Read more

Four total incidents of the vehicle engine shutting off while driving the car. Most recent today 12-17-21 was placed in extremely dangerous situation and was almost rear ended 5 times by other vehicles traveling at speeds greater than 55 mph. 1st instance occurred back in 2007 traveling West bound on I635 in Dallas (speed of 65mph) engine shut off, loss of power steering coasted to side of road.
... 2nd incident Fall 2007 - from complete stop to turn left and cross divided highway, the engine shut down right in the middle of the intersection and was nearly broadsided by oncoming car traveling at 45 mph. 3rd incident happened while driving in my neighborhood, engine shut down and loss of power to steering. Daimler Chrysler issued a recall to reprogram the TPIM module back in 2008 to address the problem. Nothing since then until today. I am the original Owner of this car and it has been well maintained and is still covered under the manufacturers warranty for as long as I own the vehicle. What has prompted me to report this problem is the fact that I could have been seriously injured. There was no warning whatsoever and the place where this took place had a blind spot as the car lost power during the climb and coasted at 2 mph down slope on a bend on the bridge. Cars traveling towards me had no visibility to my vehicle which was for all practical purposes at a stand still. I notified the Dodge Chrysler dealership of what took place and will also contact MOPAR to raise this serious problem. If a vehicle doesn't start is one thing, but to have a car loose power out of nowhere without warning has almost cost me serious harm on multiple occasions. Daimler Chrysler should do something before loss of life takes place.Read more
