Around midday of November 25, 2021, a clear day with no precipitation, while operating the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with about 155k miles on it at approximately 35 MPH, the drive train locked up causing the vehicle to go into a skid and a spin that sent the vehicle into a telephone pole. We could have slid into oncoming traffic, fortunately, we did not. The vehicle was totaled. While loading the vehicl
... e onto the tow truck, responders noted that the axle was sheared at the back due to the rear differential locking up unexpectedly. There was a noise, like a whistle or a whine for a few minutes leading up the incident, but not anything that I would associate with this kind or failure, no grinding, roughness, or clunking.Read more

Our check engine light came on when we were coming down from the mountains. We took it to a mechanic who diagnosed it as a issue with the transmission pump. Now we are afraid to drive it and it is our only vehicle for our family of four. The mechanic quoted us nearly $5000 out of pocket to fix this issue since our vehicle is not included in the list of vins for another recall of this model.

I purchased the vehicle in February 2019 and within a year the passenger-side sliding door would not unlock and would not open. Incident date: Dec 13, 2021
The primary fuel pump (under the rear seat, driver's side) was leaking gas through the electrical connector. The electrical connector on the top of the fuel pump (exposed by removing the back seat and plastic cover), had two of the five metal pins where the plastic had melted allowing raw gas from the tank to leak through the connector. Gas would leak through connector when the tank was full of
... gas down to about 3/4 of a tank. The gas would collect on top of the fuel tank in the well created for the fuel pump and retaining ring - the gas leaked through at a sufficient rate that it would fill up the well and then dribble down on the ground underneath the car. The smell of gas in the car was horrendous, and when driven the gas would spread all over the rear underside of the gas tank and rear end of the car. There are many references to this issue on the web/YouTube for the Charger/300/etc - hard to believe it is not a safety recall especially since the leak is through an electrical connector that feeds power to the fuel pump!Read more

Since my van has 113,096 miles on it, we had them check the temp s

Came back on again, this time stating cylinder 5 was misfiring, made an appointment with the dealership for 2 weeks out, in the meantime, I had the mechanic replace the fuel injector. Engine light came back on again, car running extremely rough. Brought the van to the dealership, they replaced the rollers and lifters and installed new valve cover gaskets. When I asked the dealership if this was a common problem, he admitted it was with this engine. I know recalls have been made on 2011-2013 Caravan engines. I would add 2014 to that as well. 4. So this vehicle turned out to be one of the easiest cars to be stolen. I’ve heard many stories and cases about other Dodge Charger owners that have gotten there Chargers stolen as well and I received a recall notice from dodge this week that it’s something about the radio frequency and something about a simple diagnostic tool and it programs a new key instantly and Dodge finally after so many
... complaints did there research and now put out a recall. My dream car was stolen, crashed and even my insurance company won’t compensate anything and now my vehicle has on its carfax that it was stolen and involved in an accident and the value is now destroyed. I tried getting a selling price thru Carvana and Vroom, well Carvana declined it due to that and Vroom gave me a price value of $30,000 and I bought it for $60,000. Half the value is gone due to a manufacturing issue that made these vehicles so easy to steal and be in the hands of anybody and everybody that doesn’t own it. It was used and abused on my dime and now I have to eat the loss.Read more

I had the Cruise Control recall done on my vehicle in 2018, but it never really fixed the issue. I wasn't aware there was only a 2 year warranty on the work done, and that would have put it in 202 when everything was pretty much closed down. I received a call from the mechanic and he proceeded to tell me the parts needed are on backorder and may be available in March 2022, which will cost close to $2k to repair. I was also advised by the mechanic this is a common issue across Dodge, Crystler Jeep. If that is the case, which it seems to be since I have been looking online and there have been a lot of complaints, why is this not a recall? Why, if dodge messed up when producing vehicles between certain years, do the consumers have to pay to get this fixed? I don't think it is right and I think if Dodge isn't going to take responsibility and issue a recall on this then there needs to be a Class Action Suit against Dodge. I intend to start doing some legal research to find out what the process is to do this. I can't believe a dealership can charge someone $180 to run a diagnostics on the vehicle when they know what the issue is, since it is common, plus being able to charge almost $2k to repair. The issue is with the ABS pump and module, and this has to be done at the dealership since it is electrical and needs to be hooked up to the computer to calibrate or what ever.Read more
