The frame has rusted completely through on both driver and passenger sides. The integrity of the frame is severely compromised and may collapse at anytime. This type of failure could be absolutely catastrophic to everyone who may be involved. It has not been confirmed by a dealer, nor has it been inspected by any others yet. It but was inspected by a ASE-certified mechanic and confirmed. I am a di
... sabled veteran, and I am not even sure how to move the truck with its condition for further inspection. The truck is currently available for inspection at my residence. I purchased the truck in July, 2019. I was unaware of the extent of the rust until this past year. I noticed a small hole in the frame, and currently, the frame looks to be missing 20% of its circumference.Read more

2014 Ford Escape titanium that has been having issues with coolant leaks and overheating. The first instance was in Dec 2022. The vehicle stalled while it was being driven at about 25-30 mph. The vehicle said that the coolant levels were low and the cars Engine heat level shot up. Checked the coolant level and it was full as I recently changed the oil and topped everything off. I towed it to Cort
... ese Ford dealership in Henrietta and a appointment was set for about 4 days later. They said the issue was that the car was leaking coolant somewhere but they can’t find where, so our options were A.) use a pump process where they would pump air into the coolant system and see where the leak is or B.) reroute the entire coolant system and see if that resolves the issue. So I went with option B because it was the cheaper option and it costed about $996 dallors. About 3 months later the same issue occurred, car stalled, engines heat gage shot up but this time the coolant level was low even after a top off. I added coolant and the car came back but I still called Cortese to see if there was a bigger issue. Appoint was set for 5 days later and we took it there. They came back and said the issue was that one of the main heater hose was cracked and was leaking coolant, and that costed another $1000 to fix. Finally last Thursday, the car wouldn’t start up, the dashboard was saying the cars Engine was overheating and couldn’t be started. So I waited an hour later and tried to start it again, and it said the same thing. I drove it down to a local auto shop even with the warning to get it checked out. The mechanic checked the cars codes and we had 7 codes pop up. They were P0116, P050A, P050B, P050E, and P1299 and to my understand they all have to do with Temperature and overheatingRead more

I don’t understand how it is legal for a DEALERSHIP not to inform me that a recall has yet to be address with this vehicle. The Grand Cherokee shut down while driving on the highway. It was like the ignition turned off. I pulled over and could not start the car. After 30 minutes the push button ignition finally worked. This has happened at least three times and is intermittent, but dangerous enough that you lose power to the vehicle. The problem is with the wireless ignition node.at times the push button or remote star
... t up feature will not start the engine. But once it does, it randomly shuts it down as if communication is lost or the key is not recognized, even with the FOB key in close proximity. No warning indication is given nor is it reported as a code to be analyzed. It’s not the FOBs, not the batteries in the FOBs, and not the other remote capabilities such as remote keyless entry. It is only push button (keyless) ignition and remote ignition that won’t start the vehicle. The severity is that once you do get it started and driving, it randomly with no warning shuts down causing you to coast wherever you are. I was fortunate to avoid a serious accident two of the times this happened on a major highway.Read more

The rear driver side seat belt has frayed repeatedly over the last 2 years. This puts my young child at risk of the seat belt failing in an accident. Fray #3 was again noticed in the same place in the December 2022 seat belt and replaced in January 2023. This was replaced on goodwill from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. The original thought was the tension from the car seat was causing the fray in the seat belt; however, the dealership and Honda provided no reason or explaination for why the belt was fraying or possible remedy solution beyond directly replacing the seat belt. The child has since outgrown the Nuna Rava child seat in January 2023 and is now a Diono Monterey high-back booster seat. The ABS Modulator needs to be recalled because the wiring inside the modulator is incredibly thin. Th
... is is the only module that is failing and has this type of wiring thus creating a broken circuit. Honda should have instead created a circuit board with thicker wiring and act as a connector itself. Honda should be held responsible to creating a safer ABS modulator. This can cause accidents and it is a costly fix for consumers. I am requesting a recall on this part.Read more

My brand new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross has 2 issues: 1) The 'pre-collision' feature brakes when I don't need it to. I told Toyota that I've almost got into car accidents but they said they 'can't turn it off'. 2) There is paint peeling from my front bumper for no reason. Brian Kessler at Marietta Toyota said “it's likely because when I ordered my car in 'white', the bumper was black, so they p
... ainted it without primer”. They keep telling me that "they'll call me regarding this issue", but they haven't. This vehicle's pre-collision system is over-sensitive as it continues to attempt to prevent an accident by taking control of the vehicle when I don't need/want it to. It suddenly brakes when I need to continue in motion to avoid a particular hazard, potentially causing an accident. I’ve been driving for 30+ years, and I have an impeccable driving record, so I don’t need my car to ‘think’ for me and take control of the vehicle. The service department at Marietta Toyota told me to contact Toyota.com to have them give me a ‘waiver’ with Toyota, stating that if I am involved in a motor vehicle accident as a result of this feature, then Toyota will be responsible. I spoke with at least 3 Toyota representatives at your Brand Engagement center, and was told that this feature cannot be removed, nor is there any ‘waiver’ form. Then they told me that since there is nothing 'wrong' with the car, there is nothing they can do. The last representative I spoke to told me that my complaint has been recorded and is on my ‘Toyota file’. He agreed to email me a copy of my complaint and the case number attached to my record, but I never received an email from him. I can't get them to return my calls, and I'm tired of driving to and from the service department just for them to tell me that they'll 'call me', when they have not. I am beyond angry as my issues regarding this vehicle are not resolved, and I feel betrayed by a company that has falsely gained my trust, and then destroyed itRead more

2020 Ford Explorer ST (FAILED 5/27/2023) Vehicle started shifting erratically, down shifting very hard when decelerating. Then within two to three days it would not engage in drive or reverse at all, or it was slow to engage and would engage very forcefully and intermittently. There were no warning lights that I recall. The vehicle could not be controlled and is undrivable with 37,386 miles on it.
... Currently the vehicle is sitting at the dealership waiting two to three weeks to diagnose the problem. The Service Advisor described the problem as "The vehicle delayed getting into gear when put into drive, not shifting properly when driving. When vehicle in reverse there is an extended time to engage and does not feel like it's engaged all the way, feels like it's grinding" Ford acts like they have no idea that they have a transmission issue with the 2020 10 speed automatic transmission. The dealership is going to have my explorer for 30 to 60 days with no compensation, loaner car or rental car. this is the second Explorer that we have had with major issues. The TIPM failed which caused a loss of power to the vehicle and power to the fuel pump. I was driving at approximately 60 MPH when the vehicle lost all power and the steering wheel felt locked. I was unable to turn the steering wheel as the Dodge Grand Caravan came to a quick stop as if it was out of gas. Luckily I reacted quickly and was able to avoid an accident. After approximately 10 minutes
... of trying to restart the vehicle and drive to a safe location the vehicle restarted. This happened again when I was driving and came to a red light at a major intersection and the vehicle stalled out as if out of gas and the steering locked. I again tried to restart the vehicle intermittently for 15 minutes; after which it finally restarted, and I was able to drive and get out of the intersection without an accident. I was lucky that this didn't cause an accident. The other times the defective TIPM and power to the fuel pump caused the vehicle to fail to start and left me stranded. I have had the vehicle diagnosed and the TIPM repair price is quite expensive. The vehicle did not have any check engine or warning lights before this occurred. I have read many similar complaints of this occurring with others driving Dodge/Chrysler vehicles. I feel that there is evidence that the TIPM and the fuel pump on the 2011 Dodge Caravan are safety concerns. Every experienced mechanic I have spoken with is aware of the common issue with the TIPM, and power to the fuel pump and vehicle. Although I avoided an accident there is a concern for everyone's safety.Read more

Losing your power steering while driving is extremely dangerous for people in the car and all others on the road. This is obviously the same issue for the 2014 model that must also be recalled to keep all drivers safe.Read more

This is in regards to Recall # 14S10 (Ford) and NHTSA # 14V393000. I was driving my 2013 Ford Edge when turning there was a pop, and vehicle would not engage into any gear causing an extreme safety issue. After being towed, it was noted that the intermediate shaft was broke and sheared the gears off. This is a very uncommon finding. We contacted Ford and was told there was not a recall on this veh
... icle. Therefore, we replaced, through Ford, the intermediate shaft and 2 new CV axles (ordered through a parts store). Once repairs were completed, the CV axle seal leaked and was also replaced. It started shaking upon acceleration. We then replaced the motor mounts and struts in an attempt to fix the problem. We also put another CV axle on passenger side at that time. At this point, after speaking to several different professionals regarding our problem, we were then informed that there WAS a recall for this very problem on 2013 Edge. We contacted Ford again and gave them the recall numbers. They then agreed that the recall should have included this vehicle but that our particular VIN number was not included in the initial recall. We were advised by Ford to bring the vehicle in and let them inspect it. After inspection, they found that when the intermediate shaft went out, it damaged the transmission. They also stated that looking into the history of this vehicle, this is not the first time for this problem with this particular Edge. They stated this should've been included in the original recall as this is the exact reason for the recall. We were advised to contact you with this complaint so that this Edge with Vin number can be added to the recall and fixed accordingly. This Edge is currently at the Ford dealer awaiting your response. I implore you to consider adding this VIN # to the original recall. The Ford dealer is in agreement that this is the exact reason for the recall. Thankfully, no one was injured during the initial incident which could have been serious.Read more

The SYNC4 system has been glitching lately everytime I engage reverse or click the button to display the cameras. Typically the glitch is minimal and nothing to be concerned about as the system resumes operation after 2 - 3 seconds. However the other day my family and I were traveling home towing our travel trailer and the SYNC4 system decided to reboot itself mid-drive at highway speeds (No butto
... ns were pressed at this time). Upon resuming normal operation the truck felt as if it was working harder to stop us and the trailer. This is when I noticed that the SYNC4 reboot had caused the trailer brake controller to forget my camper profile and revert to default. This left the trailer applying less braking power than if my camper profile were properly engaged. I was able to recall the camper profile and complete the trip so no injuries to report but this could leave drivers unaware of the change. The truck stayed in its tow/haul mode but there were not visual indicators to alert the driver the trailer brake settings had reverted back to default. I reached out to Ford customer service and they have stated they have not heard this issue to date. I have not taken the truck to the dealer yet but I plan on having them inspect the system. I still face the glitching when pressing the camera button but have not re-produced the trailer brake reset as of now. I am also unsure if the two behaviors are related but they are both controlled by the SYNC system.Read more

There is an extended recall regarding the driver and passenger seatbelts in 2014-2015 Dodge Durangos and 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees, number D-21-04. My driver seatbelt retracts very slowly and the passenger seatbelt does not retract at all without manual manipulation. Because of this safety issue I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee into a dealership in January 2023. At the time I was told parts
... (X90) were not available yet. I have since called monthly because my car at this point is unsafe to drive with passengers without a repair. Today (June 2023) I was told that there is an indefinite backorder and there is no estimated remedy for the part. The service technician from the dealership indicated that the part is likely not being manufactured anymore. He indicated that my only option was to either drive an unsafe vehicle, stop driving it, or sell it. I was informed that Chrysler would likely not be manufacturing a fix for another 6 months to one year.Read more

While driving on the NYS Thruway (I90), I started to pass a Tractor Trailer, I put my blinker on and began moving to the right to pass. There were 2/3 cars in back of me also passing. I was using cruise control and I began to put my foot on the accelerator to finish my passing and move over to the right hand lane to let the other vehicles pass me. However, upon accelerating, my car started t
... o drop power, multiple lights displaying simultaneously indicating a potential problem. (Eyesight Assist, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Brake & Engine Lights), the vehicle started jerking back and forth and I lost all but maybe 5 miles of power. My choice at that time was put my blinker on and try and move to the right - letting the Tractor Trailer pass me on the right and HOPE there was not another vehicle behind so I could move over safely at that crawling speed or go to the left into the gully. This could have been a multiple car collision and maybe fatalities due to the speed and loss of control of my vehicle. After towing to the nearest dealer, they determined it was the Thermo Control Valve. I see now that there is a "service bulletin" and design change of this component and that other Subaru drivers have been affected the same way. This is a very serious situation. I ask, why no recall from Subaru. I have been without my vehicle now for 4 days and may not have it back until next week. I am very fearful of driving that vehicle again.Read more
