... 126,207 miles Date of Incident: [XXX] Description of Incident: While traveling on the roadway on [XXX], the passenger-side Active Head Restraint (AHR) suddenly deployed without warning. There was no accident, collision, sudden stop, or any other event that would reasonably trigger the system. The vehicle was being operated normally at the time of the incident. My [XXX] son was seated in the front passenger seat when the headrest unexpectedly deployed and forcefully struck him in the back of the head. The deployment occurred without any impact to the vehicle and caused immediate concern for his safety and well-being. Following the deployment, the headrest remained in the deployed position and appears to require repair or replacement. Given that the system activated without a collision and made forceful contact with an occupant, I believe this represents a significant safety concern. I am aware that similar incidents have been reported by owners of Dodge Durangos and other Stellantis vehicles equipped with Active Head Restraint systems. NHTSA has previously investigated complaints involving headrests deploying without a crash and causing injuries to vehicle occupants. My incident appears consistent with those reported failures. I respectfully request that this incident be documented and investigated as a potential safety-related defect. After contacting Dodge City of McKinney, I was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection. The dealership later informed me that Recall V34 had been completed in 2021 before I owned the vehicle, but that there is now an open A0C recall involving the shift cable/park system. I was advised that the recall remedy and parts are not yet available The dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that the shift cable/grommet is deteriorated. They stated in writing that the vehicle is not roadworthy and provided an estimate of approximately $756.70 to repair the condition. I was advised that I may need to pay for the repair myself and seek reimbursement later because the recall remedy is not yet available. I have opened a case with Stellantis Customer Care and have written documentation from the dealership confirming the vehicle is not roadworthy due to the shift cable condition. My concern is that the vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive due to a condition involving a system that is currently subject to an open safety recall, yet I am being told to pay out of pocket for repairs while the official recall remedy remains unavailable. I am requesting review of the recall status, clarification of my rights, and assistance in resolving this matter without requiring out-of-pocket payment for a potentially recall-related repair.Read more

The issue has occurred three times and taken to the dealership 3 times: May 22, 2026 – complete shutdown while driving May 27, 2026 – shutdown while reversing; vehicle would not restart and required towing June 10, 2026 – shutdown again immediately when leaving dealership There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before any failure. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by a dealership. Each time, they reported no diagnostic trouble codes and no identified cause. The failures have not been reproduced under dealership testing conditions, despite repeated real-world occurrences, including immediately after release from service. No inspections by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives have occurred. Cause remains UNKNOWN. Had over 1300 miles until next oil change. Car has no leaking issues. Car ran out of oil completely and seized engine during camping trip. I use synthetic and both mileage/time were both way under than what was on my next oil change sticker... warranty says they won't cover it. So now I just have a shell of a car I cannot drive nor afford a new engine for. It was not neglect.

I contacted the FCA hotline to report this problem and to see if Dodge had either addressed this problem or would be willing to. Each time the representative denied having a single complaint about this problem, which I knew to be false after the second time, because I knew there was at least one, MINE from the first report. This repair cost over $1600, and is still not done because the headlight assembly for the driver's side is on back order. Yes, the driver-side headlight assembly is on back order, but not the passenger-side one. When asked why the passenger side is not on backorder, but the driver-side one is, I was told it's because there seems to be a widespread problem with the ones that came on the vehicle from the factory, and replacing them has caused a backorder. To add insult to injury, Dodge's own warranty does not cover this problem, and neither do their expensive extended warranties, because the problem is considered to be a "sealed beam", not the headlight assembly itself, even though the only way to replace the headlight assembly.Read more

The vehicle was taken to JJ Auto Repair and Collisions, where it was diagnosed with catastrophic engine block failure. A new engine was purchased and installed on the vehicle; however, the vehicle suddenly stalled while driving 40 MPH. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with alternator failure. The alternator and the battery were replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone, where the battery was replaced. Additionally, AutoZone tested the newly installed alternator and determined that the alternator was faulty; however, several mechanics determined that the alternator was in good condition. The contact related the failures to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 20V278000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) and 18V524000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The vehicle was not repaired. Software related problems have included: not starting, not recognizing key fob to enter vehicle, vehicle error and check engine light and other warning lights such as the SOS system being offline. It has bricked 4 times. It has also made unexplained noises such as a knocking noise on start up which the manufacture said was normal, but the dealership service department didn’t agree. The Dick Poe Service Departments communication with Stellantis engineers have fixed each software and part issue only to have the same issues present themselves weeks and months at a time. I am a [XXX] XXX. The constant problems with this vehicle have worsened my PTDS symptoms due to the constant issues, problems, and required work. Vehicle is currently at Dick Poe Dodge Jeep Service this morning (6/1/2026) because the vehicle will not charge as well as not recognizing the key fob for entry/ exit, software updates, and an instrument cluster recall. Horn and all dasbboard controls quit working on my steering wheel. Rear wiper comes on by itself when the vehicle is put in reverse but the toggle no longer works to activate the rear wiper. The washer fluid will work with the toggle switch, but the wiper still does not come on. Reverse lights quit working.

The backup camera does not display correctly. When the car is put in reverse we get a picture of a camera with a line through it. This problem is very similar to what is in recall 59c but does not include our vin number.

The vehicle has experienced repeated failures associated with diagnostic trouble code P06DD. When the condition occurs, the vehicle is unable to exceed approximately 3,500 RPM and experiences engine stalling and loss of power while driving. The issue is intermittent but has occurred repeatedly. The vehicle has been presented to authorized Dodge/Stellantis dealerships on five separate occasions fo

Most recently, the dealership advised that the issue was resolved and returned the vehicle to me. Within approximately 30 minutes of leaving the dealership and driving on the freeway, the check engine light returned and the same stalling and loss-of-power condition immediately reappeared. The defect creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate normally while operating in traffic and on freeways. When the condition occurs, the vehicle cannot exceed approximately 3,500 RPM stalls while driving, creating a risk of collision. The vehicle currently has approximately 21,000 miles and remains under manufacturer warranty. Despite multiple repair attempts, the defect has not been permanently corrected.Read more
