ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 MY HUSBAND & I WERE COMING HOME TO WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA FROM MT AIRY MARYLAND TRAVELING ON I95 SOUTH BOUND JUST OVER THE VIRGINIA LINE WE HAD A LEFT REAR TIRE ON OUR 5TH WHEEL TRAILER GO FLAT. WE CHANGED THE TIRE OURSELVES AND CONTINUE ON TO THE NEXT TRUCK STOP AND ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO FIX OUR FLAT WE DID NOT WANT TO BE WITHOUT A SPARE TIRE WE STILL HAD 1000 MILE
... S TO HOME. THEY TOLD US IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED IT WAS SPLIT ALL AROUND. WE WERE ON I95 SB AT MILE MARKER 82 NEAR DUNN NORTH CAROLINA AT 5PM HAD ONE RIGHT TIRE THE TREAD SEPARATED AND THE TIRE NEXT TO IT BLEW CAUSING $7,000+ TO OUR 5TH WHEEL TRAILER AND ALSO DAMAGED THE 5TH WHEEL HITCH. WE HAD TO PURCHASE 3 NEW TIRES AND SAT ON I95 FROM 5PM TO 9PM BEFORE GETTING BACK ON THE ROAD. THE DAMAGE WAS BAD ENOUGH BUT THE TRAILER SERVICE COMPANY STATED IT WAS INCHES AWAY FROM THE PROPANE TANKS AND WE WERE VERY LUCKY THE TRAILER DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE AND EXPLODE FROM THE ELECTRICAL WIRING TORN APART. WE WERE VERY GLAD OUR GRANDKIDS WHERE AT HOME IN MT. AIRY MARYLAND AND THAT THE ACCIDENT DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE WAY TO TAKE THEM HOME. THE FOUR NEW TIRES WERE ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAD LESS THAN 3400 MILES ON THEM. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED. WE WILL ALSO NEED TO BUY 1 MORE TIRE TO REPLACE THE 4TH CARLISLE TIRE WE STILL HAVE - WE WILL NOT TRAVEL WITH THAT TIRE EITHER ON THE TRAILER OR AS A SPARE. WE DO NOT TRUST CARLISLE TIRES. THE BLOW OUT TOOK THE FENDER OFF THE TRAILER AND BENT THE GAS LINE TO THE STOVE. PURCHASED NEW TIRE. AFTER DRIVING 200 MILES, WE DROVE AT 55 MPH OVER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINT - KIND OF A QUICK DOUBLE BUMP, WHICH SET OFF AN EXTREMELY VIOLENT RAPID SHAKING OF THE ENTIRE COACH RESULTING IN DIFFICULT STEERING AND A HARROWING EXPERIENCE. THANKFULLY, THERE WAS LIMITED TRAFFIC, TRAVELING IN RIGHT LANE, AND ROOM ON SHOULDER TO PULL OVER. THIS VIOLENT SHAKING CONTINUED UNTIL < 5 MPH. CHECKED TIRES AND UNDER CHASIS - ALL SEEMED OK. CONTINUED DRIVING HOME TO COMPLETE THE BALANCE OF TRIP, AVOIDING AS MANY BUMPS AS POSSIBLE, AND WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. RV IS CURRENTLY AT A FORD SERVICE SHOP FOR INSPECTION AND RESOLUTION. IN JUNE 2010 WE WENT TO MOVE OUR RV AND WHEN WE OPENED THE DOOR THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF AMMONIA. WE DISCOVERED THE DOMETIC RV REFRIGERATOR MODEL RM2652 SERIAL #42708236 WAS NOT OPERATING. WE TURNED THE REFRIGERATOR OFF AND REMOVED ALL SPOILED FOOD. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF THIS HAPPENING WE HEARD FROM FRIENDS WHO HAVE A RV JUST LIKE OURS THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN MADE ON THIS MODEL REFRIGERATOR.

1. THE HOSE FOR THE EUREKA CENTRAL VACUUM WAS RUN UNDER THE HEATING HOSES AND UP UNDER THE STEPS. WHILE RUNNING THE HEATER WE NOTICES A BURNING PLASTIC SMELL FROM UNDER THE STEPS AND HEAT COMING FROM THE VACUUM CONNECTION. I REMOVED THE COVERS ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THE HOSE WAS BEING MELTED BY THE HEAT RUNS THAT WERE LAID OVER TOP OF IT I DON'T KNOW IF THIS COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE, IT CLEARLY

THE MICROWAVE AND GROUND FAULT IN THE KITCHEN BUMP OUT BOTH BLEW AFTER THE FIRST TRIP WITH THE UNIT AND WE WERE UNABLE TO RESET THE BREAKER. THE JUNCTION BOX UNDER THE SLIDE OUT IS NOT WATERPROOF AND THAT IT WAS FULL OF WATER. 3.TWO PIECE OF MOLDING ON THE SLIDES ARE NOT SECURED AND HAVE COME OUT WHILE DRIVING. LUCKILY WE HAVE CAUGHT THEM AND PUT THEM BACK ON BEFORE THEY CAME COMPLETELY LOOSE AND HIT A CAR.
