The glue that holds the plastic covers on the aluminum wheels has failed and two of the plastic covers have fallen off. The covers and wheels are available for inspection. The one cover fell off while driving down a local main road in our city. When I saw it fall off, I returned to the area where it was laying in the street to retrieve it. At some point the entire vehicle was non operational and the windows would not roll back up and the hazard lights did not work. Police were there by that time. I also independently had AAA battery service check the battery and have been told it needs replaced but that the vehicle should not just stop and lock up mid drive. ... s my second time experiencing this issue. Since it hadn’t happened in such a long time since the first time I figured the car would be okay. The first time it happened was around September 2022. And it just occurred again yesterday, on August 4,2023. Given how long I went without experiencing the problem again I did not report this specific issue to the manufacturer. However, I did experience a different problem in the past with my automatic breaking system that I did report to the manufacturer. My dashboard would randomly display a yellow picture of two cars crashing. Following the dashboard light coming on my car would randomly accelerate without me applying added pressure to the gas and it would gradually break on its own while my foot was still on the gas, but it wasn’t an abrupt break like I recently experienced. Between 2019 and 2020 I took my vehicle to Passport Nissan in Maryland three times for issues surrounding my breaking system. They said it was an issue with my front radar. They ordered a part and had it recalibrated. I continued to experience the same issue until I finally took it to Sheehy Nissan of Waldorf, where I actually purchased my car. After Sheehy looked into my car I had no further issues with my car accelerating or gradually breaking. However, the issue I’m experiencing now is dangerous and can lead to car accidents, especially for the cars that drive behind me. My car is available upon request with advance notice. I was coming home from work and I was waiting to make a left turn onto a road named Vincent Rd in Orlando, FL which meant that I had to cross 3 lanes of highway. Of course the cars that were in the lane that I was in had no choice but the other two lanes were not stopping until somebody offered to push me across the other lanes to a parking lot. All I can say is God Bless my mailman as he is the one that actually pushed me across the highway. In my opinion, I feel that this could have been more serious. I had to have the vehicle towed to Greenway Chrysler where it was determined an axled failure on the left front wheel. Bottom line is that this situation could have been really bad but thankfully it was not. I know there have been issues with the 2017 Pacifica's over time and I believe axle failure is one of the major issues.Read more

When we contacted Kia dealership and Kia customer service they told us that they would not help us, because it was not recalled and there was no current warranty for it past 98,000 miles but online it says 100,000 miles. Even though we are the third owner of the car we have received the car from her grandparents and have fold all recall information and then keeping tabs on keeping the car up-to-date to make sure that is mechanically sound, and always in good condition. We are scared for the dangerous situation that the steering wheel is putting us in to the point where we are not comfortable driving the vehicle. The Kia dealerships reached out to you about the safety concerns not only told us that they would charge us an obscene amount of money to bring it in for a diagnostic, but that they would not cover the cost to repair it, even if they found that it was related to the recall of the 2014 2016. The 2012s have the same steering an engine as the 2014 and 2016. We fear for the safety of our family, and Kia will not even look at it without charging us, and said that even if it was related to the same problem that they would not allowed to be covered under warranty, because there is not a specific warranty on the 2012 Kia soul model. Summer of 2021 - Code that signaled a failure of the catalytic converter. Taken to Kia to determine the issue which was confirmed to be a faulty catalytic converter that needed repair. After repairing the catalytic converter, oil began being consumed rapidly. This led to the oil light appearing roughly every two weeks. While sitting in the longest traffic jam I ever experienced on a hot summer day and not moving, suddenly all lights and driver assistant lights came on the dashboard and the parking brake engaged. I was able to release the parking brake and drive with all the lights lit on the dashboard. My vehicle had only 88K miles. Trailer Brake controller DIC shows "check trailer wiring" and Brakes are not functioning. Intermittent issue but mostly no brakes. Lights all work fine. New RV bought in [XXX] testing brakes and DIC indicated issue. Stokes Chevy dealer replaced Brake controller and for 1st 1 1/2 hours on [XXX] no issue. Ford was used to haul trailer initially to RV park and no issues. Took truck to dealer once home ( Cavender GMC) they cannot find issue. Also the check parking brake icon comes on. I the outer tread separated from the tire. The tire pressure was correct at 80 psi. I was traveling at 57 mph. The outside temp was 81 degrees. We had traveled 12 miles from my home. The tire is a Castle Rock st235/80r16, It will be several weeks before I have estimated cost of damage to the camper.

The vehicle has just completely died on me at least twice while driving it, the power steering keeps cutting out, and the headlights will dim significantly upon pressing the brake pedal or using turn signals. This has been going on intermittently for months. Upon an internet search, this does not appear to be an uncommon issue.

7/19/23 - Dash warning to pull over because car was going to turn off (from recall software update). (Image attached) Unclear how long I had and upcoming road was more dangerous, so I pulled over in an area with highway speed traffic and only half a shoulder. Car did not reset on first attempt to restart and stuck in "turtle mode" (<10 mph). When I called the dealership, they originally offered me
... the roadside assistance number, then talked me through reset over phone when I pushed back that I was not in a safe spot with cars flying past me. I was able to drive <10 minutes to dealer after car reset. They were able to get codes and confirm car is undrivable and I need a new transmission. As of 7/28 they still have my car with no update on when part will be shipped. Prior warning: On 7/11, dash showed "put in P to park" alternating with "press brake and push button to start" while driving down the road (note D for drive in lower right on attached images, also photo of car still on/in run). This started at the same time the car bucked and the check engine light came on solid. (Another image shows the red battery warning light in upper left that came on when car was put in park as other messages continued to alternate.) I pulled over and turned off car. While waiting and thinking about what to do next, the car restarted on its own. (It is possible I pressed button 2x to turn off as I recall it didn't react. But restart was a full minute later!) Restarted. Dealership seemed unconcerned, despite the known issue with Pacifica hybrids. Same issue occurred 7/12. On 7/13 the radio rebooted while driving down the road with no warning. (Radio issues have been ongoing and may be related to overall electrical issues?). On morning of 7/19 when final issue occurred, the radio didn't work at first. On 7/14, I pushed dealership to get software recall update that day as it did not feel safe to drive with the ongoing issues. Recall software update was in place before 7/19 incident.Read more
