I was driving in traffic in a 30mph zone and my car turned off, and I was unable to push down on the brakes. I had to use my emergency brake a could hardly turn my wheel and stop in the center divider of the road. I turned on my hazards and waited 15 minutes and was able to restart the car a drive home. This car is putting my life in danger! It feels like the gears are slipping in the transmission. When I accelerate, there is a metal grinding noise and the car has no power. It gave me a dash warning that read “ transmission not in park” and “Park Not Available, Apply Park Brake Before Exiting”. The light on the gear shift for park was flashing. I couldn’t turn off the vehicle. Then I couldn’t start it again for a while. The vehicle also shifts hard out of reverse or into drive frequently. The four-wheel-drive transfer case was replaced with less than 5,000 miles on it. Vehicle has never operated the same since and has gotten worse. I’ve taken it into the dealership more than half a dozen times for this issue. They can never replicate it. There are codes in the computer from the failures in the gear shifting, but the dealership says they can’t fix it because they can’t replicate it. I’m literally afraid for my life to drive this vehicle at this point. I’m not paying thousands of dollars to replace a transmission that has been bad since we bought it new. I reported this to Hyundai and they agreed that it could be a part of a previous recall, and advised me to go to the dealership to have it repaired. The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle decelerated. The check engine warning light illuminated, and a message displayed on the infotainment screen indicating “Engine System Emergency, Take Vehicle to the Nearest Dealer”. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that no appointments were available; however, the technician used a code reader that retrieved message: “5 Volts drop to the ECM”. The contact stated that the technician then pressed the START/STOP button to restart the vehicle and reset the check engine warning light. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle back to his location where he parked the vehicle. The following day he restarted the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised that if the check engine warning light was not illuminated there was no need to have the vehicle diagnosed. The headlights failed to provide enough light to see the road at night. This, of course, is dangerous when driving on the highway or country roads as we are unable to maintain the speed required on the highway in order to safely navigate the turns in the road, which could also cause a disruption in the traffic flow, possibly causing an accident if other cars were not expecting a slower vehicle on
... the road. Not to mention not being able to see any wildlife in the road in enough time to react. The problem, to my knowledge, has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center prior to our purchase of the vehicle. We have discussed the issue with the dealer but the service manager is unable to comment on the matter or any type of solution. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It first appeared the first night time drive after purchasing the vehicle, used, in 2021. We had discussions with the Dealer's service department and they would not speak to any "known" issue. We performed an on-line research that showed that there was a problem with the lighting system and GM decided to not issue a recall. I believe for a short time there was compensation provided for those that complained, but that time is long gone. These cars are still on the market and without a resolution to fix this issue there can be an accident or even death in an accident.Read more

Car has been stalling during deceleration, braking and at stops. The issue was fixed only in one model when multiple years of this make and model was doing the same thing. The issue started in 2011 and was supposed to be addressed in 2012 but the actual recall to fix it was actually only for 2015 but I almost got into an accident by stalling. ... the seller assumed it was fixed. After taking it to pep boys and getting other repairs it resulted in a $2k repair and its still stalling at stops and when slowing down. Why was the issue only fixed in 2015 models if it was made aware in 2011-2012? Those models would need that recall repair also. I have not been able to drive it continuously without it cutting off for a full day and nobody can figure out why because no codes are coming up. When researching I found a forum where it was suggested this was a major issue that was never rectified by Chrysler. They closed the investigation but did not service all cars with this issue.Read more

Steering assist stopped working and EPS fault warning light, front crash collision detection fault, and front crash collision detect turned off, and traction control indicators appeared. After 3 cycles of the ignition and driving for 10 minutes to a safe location the warning lights went off and steering assist was restored.

Ticking sound when i turn off vehicle. Usually did it for about 5 seconds, Now it just keeps on ticking and sounds like it is coming from behind glove box area passenger side. Found a lot of same complaints for this year Ranger and they mention the "Blend Door". If so many complaints shouldn't it be a recall?
