Problems reside in the total integrated power management module. TPIM whereas vehicle will shut off while driving. No indicator lights to give warning before the vehicle shuts off. The defective tint was replaced. It was a warranty replacement at no cost. The problem has re-occurred (2023). Hendrickson refuses to fix it. ... we stopped at the Marriott overnight in San Mateo for seeing a friend on the way during the Christmas time from 22nd-25th, our whole trip was scared and bothered by the fact that we couldn’t get the trunk closed whenever and whatever unless we tried 4, 7, even 10 times. We were truly scared and concerned that we would not be able to continue our trip. My husband had to stand at the hotel parking lot in cold weather for an hour until I was able to went down to the parking lot to try to finally close it. This incident happened throughout our entire trip going to SF and being back home in Apple Valley. We were afraid that we couldn’t finish our trip. What a terrible experience! My Kia Sorento uses roughly 2-4 quarts of oil every week or 2. The smell of oil is so strong in the car it’s almost unbearable. Just this week the the alert about a door being open is going off and the locks are malfunctioning. It locks and unlocks at random and it keeps sayings a door is open when it isn’t. The cruise control also stopped working.

The thermo control valve (TCV) went bad at 54,000 miles. The result is that none of the safety features work anymore. Collision detection, Eye-Sight, lane change warnings, anti-skid, etc. all go offline when the TCV goes out. We can drive the car but it now has no safety features.

In a normal gasoline powered vehicle, when the ignition is on, the engine is running and the alternator is generating current to charge the battery and keep it in good health. However, with Honda's Hybrid system, even with the ignition on the

Honda could easily detect high current draw on the 12v electrical system (like a tire inflator e.g.) and start the gasoline motor when needed, but they have chosen not to do so letting the vehicle's battery drain to a dangerously low level which has other adverse effects on the car's safety systems. LKAS and TPMS systems have reported erroneous messages when this condition occurs. If there were a way to ensure the gasoline motor stayed on for roadside service tasks that would solve this issue, but currently in all modes the engine will shut off after running for a time, allowing the battery to be drained and damaged.Read more

... with a JASON HEWITT. Mr Hewitt informed me that CarMax will have a tow truck come get the car. The following day, the car was towed by CarMax to Amaco for an official diagnostic. I was notified the following day that my vehicle had a damaged axle and appears to have been cause by a “car accident.” Mr Hewitt told me to file a claim in my insurance. I told Mr Hewitt that most likely the tow company damaged my axle. He stated he didnt know what exactly caused it but they will not be able to address the transmission issue until this axle and converter is paid for. Additionally, I’ve had the car for 14 months and 6 months into my lease agreement, the check engine light came and stayed on due the catalytic converter. ... ssing the start button nor depressing the break either (hazards were engaged at this point). Hazards had to be shut off in order to completely shut off the vehicle to restart it. Dangerous on major highway with no lights or hazards on side of road. 25 degrees outside. This is the Second time this has occurred to this vehicle. The last time occurred on 1/20/2023 the exact same way shutting off power and engine of the car on the same local highway with similar cold temperature (always issues with this car in the cold, hybrid battery system fails in cold below 40 or temperatures higher than 90). Last time a grounding issue was found in the transmission and was replaced. I will be contacting the dealership for repair today will update if it is still grounding issues or something new causing same problem. As i made in my last nhtsa report in january on this vehicle, the fact this car shuts down while in motion and you have no control over the car is dangerous and can cost people their lives. As a hybrid system, the van should automatically switch to gas only and bypass the hybrid charging system to continue functioning as any car would. By shutting down the engine and everything you are jeopardizing the lives of everyone on the roads. Both incidents of mine occurred on a highway at high speeds. I am just thankful I was not on a bridge at the time it failed as it would have caused an accident. I heard nothing about or from my last nhtsa report. The driver side seatbelt does not retract. It has to be physically pushed back into the device so extra seatbelt is not hanging out. If one were to stop, the locking mechanism would have seatbelt slack in it so it wouldn’t restrain the driver immediately.

In speaking with the service advisor, he mentioned it had 13 error codes reported on the DTC from loss of communication with PCM. There were no warning signs prior to the two events I have experienced. I have scheduled to take it back to the dealership for examination. The first event I experienced was on 11/25/2023 with about 35,450 miles. The second event was on 12/15/23 with 36,100 miles. I am aware of the recall on this vehicle but the shortage of parts has not allowed Dodge to service it for the recall yet.Read more

I called someone familiar with cars and they told me I may need an oil change. I parked, and when someone arrived with oil for me, we discovered the oil level was not low based on the dip stick nor was it leaking. This is when we began to suspect that the oil pump had failed. Upon further investigation, this seems to be a common issue with my type of car as there is a current investigation through this organization into 2018 Ford EcoSports and oil pump failure. In order to prevent further damage, I had it towed to my local Ford dealer who inspected my car and informed me my car had experienced catastrophic engine failure and it would cost $7,000 to replace. I took my vehicle to jenkins kia-ocala back in march and may of this year for my check engine light lashing on and off and acceleration issues, car shaking, and excessive oil spilling into my spark plugs. The 1st time I took my vehicle to this location i was told to "drive my vehicle until it no longer had any motor oil to "allow the motor to lock up" to then be approved to have my vehicle engine
... approved under the GDI recall". I expressed my great concerns to the employees about that statement and also reported the issue to bbb. I recently took my vehicle to kia jenkins Dec 8th for the very same reason only this time I showed them paperwork from a different certified mechanic who indicated that I have an internal engine issue. Kia then created a tech line case after seeing the paperwork showing i took my vehicle to a different shop. Over the course of holding my vehicle for over a week without any answers i was able to contact kia consumer affairs who offered to repair my vehicle under good will. Kia jenkins employee told me over the phone that my car will not be approved to be fixed due to the high mileage on my vehicle. I asked them what the miles has to do with my safety and the volunteer payment that kia consumer affairs is willing to pay as that is not a reason to deny a good will payment. The employee proceeded to state its not going to be approved and I expressed I felt this is due to my previous report to the bbb. 12.8.23 i received an email from Kia consumer affairs stating the good will case has been declined due to my vehicle not being "routinely maintained" according to the feedback from jenkins kia service department. I went to kia to pick up my vehicle. I proceeded to question what maintenance was recommended that they are claiming i did not complete as they never advised me of any issues with my car pertaining to their new list of things, they added on the invoice of things they claim i denied.Read more

Rear window on truck door exploded and shattered in 50 degree weather while parked. There was no collision or impact to the window. There is a softball sized hole and the entire window shattered in driveway. The Car is a year old.

Vehicle continuously suffers a total loss of power (engine shuts off) while driving, creating obvious hazard to the user of the car and other drivers. This continues to happen without warning and often while driving through intersections and other dangerous situations. No warning lights precede these events. We brought the vehicle to the Subaru dealership and, after testing/diagnosing the problem,
... they informed us the vehicle needs a larger battery (which also requires installation of a larger battery tray) than the one that came equipped with the vehicle from the manufacturer. No aftermarket modifications have been made to the battery or electrical systems and the current battery is the size and type recommended by Subaru in the owner’s manual; the dealership, however, advises that that battery is insufficient and needs to be changed for a larger-sized battery.Read more
