This initial warning in the car display is "Driver Door Contact Switch" error, particularly during cold weather, which precedes a cascade of other electronic alerts and activities described elsewhere, such as errors messages and sounds, and automatic engagement of the parking brake while driving. ... f town on 12/16/2023 the van began to run hot for the first time and I parked it. The next day it wouldn’t start and I got it towed to a nearby shop on 12/18/23 and I was told it was my starter. I replaced the starter and the shop said it was something with my engine due to white smoke coming out the exhaust pipes. I got it towed again to a nearby Chrysler dealership on 12/19/23 and they confirmed after doing the diagnostic, the service shop said I needed a new engine because the coolant leaked into the cylinder heads blowing the gaskets. I asked what caused this issue and they stated overheating. The vehicle has never shown signs of overheating such as smoking or the gauges going up until that night which was a brief 5 minutes because I parked the van. I have researched and seen multiple cases like mine in both circumstances with this same kind of vehicle and not1 recall has been placed. I maintenance the vehicle as required and believe this is a manufacturing issue.Read more

* My driving side front wheel climbed a small bump with a rock. I put my car on reverse and pressed the accelerator. The car first refused to reverse then went completely out of control. The engine produced a huge revving noise and the car accelerated, taking the car backward at high speed. I had no control. The car went off the road, climbed a hill at a 45 degree incline on one side of the road.
... It continued up the hill at high speed until it hit a tree. The impact caused about 1 foot of the passenger side to be a mangled mass of steel from the rear fender to the front passenger door. The gas tank was exposed but intact. *There were no injuries because I was the only occupant and the driver's side was unaffected. If there were persons in the passenger rear seat, there would have been serious injury. *The damage was obvious (I have photographs) and was witnessed by two onlookers and the tow-truck driver. The insurance company (AAA) declared the car totalled and settled. They did not want to examine the car for defects. * There were no warning signs during the year it was driven by me. CP4 high pressure fuel pump failed causing Loss of Motive Power (LOMP) in Oct of 2018. Truck became hard to steer and brake but I was traveling at a lower speed. Had it of been 1 hour later I would have been at freeway speeds pulling a 13000lbs trailer. The total cost for the repairs were not covered under any type of warranty or recall and had to be paid entirely out of pocket. After the accident I have decided to check the blind spot indicator as I realized it cannot be trusted, and the vehicle behind you in the lane next to you can be at your rear corner and the car will 50/50 not report a car is there, and not give the red “unsafe” indicator. There were times a vehicle was side by side with me and the blind spot indicator did not light up at all. There are also times the side camera is either black with no image or with a delayed/frozen image when using the turn signal. The side fender cameras also fails to accurately show vehicle distance at night as they have excessive glair on the live view when changing lanes. However afterwards the dash cam recording on the HDD is crystal clear. Which means the live view with turn signal lacks the clarity required to be safe to use when driving. Either Software or hardware or both is lacking in keeping safety features functional. Recall? I believe Tesla should have another recall issued to address these problems. To make it safe for changing lanes by correcting the intermittent blind spot detection. By making the turn signal fender camera crystal clear for drivers when changing lanes. And by increasing the distance allowed before the blind spot detection says it’s safe to change lanes. And upgrading computer hardware to stop the lag and keep safety systems operational. Even when applying the brakes, this will continue to happen and there's concern for Rear-ending or crashing when this happens. When driving home 2 nights ago the county police pulled my vehicle over due to burnt out headlight, which was replaced less than 6 months ago. Took the car in to get bulb replaced today and multiple bulbs later, the light is not fixed and it was said to be electrical and need to go to another shop. ... t drive on the highway so I took the side streets to and from work. I started getting oil pressure warnings about 2 weeks prior but I just had my oil change done in October 2023. I did not know that I was getting warning messages until I looked at the FordPass app on 12/2/23 and saw several messages starting from 10/6/23 at 9:15am. The first message states " powertrain malfunction/reduced power" and another received on 10/6/23 at 11:48am states "Service Engine Soon Warning - The engine control system has detected that the turbocharger/supercharger is outputting lower boost then expected. Diesel equipped vehicles may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power." Another on 11/28/23 states "Charge System Fault Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault". 11/29 1:09pm Service Engine Soon The powertrain control system has detected the system power supply voltage is lower than desired". Plus several other messages. I had the car towed to the Ford Dealership in Victorville and was told by the Service Advisor that the engine and turbo needs to be replaced. She said that the oil pump drive belt broke. I asked how this happens and she said the tech does not know but he does know that the turbo is consequential damage due to drive belt damage. I have also noticed that the gas mileage has significantly decreased over the past year or so. Also the brakes squeak when I put the car in reverse - this happened the day I drove the car off of the lot and the Ford rep said it was no big deal. There are other minor issues also.Read more

... cle off and powered back on to find my engine light on and the service brake assist alert on as well. I had it towed for service to which they replaced the vacuum pump, brake booster pressure sensor and brake fluid. Everything seemed to be working fine however a month later the same exact issue occurred. I took it in to the same place for service and had a brake inspection done and was told everything looked good and they were not sure what was wrong other than the ecm and ebcm were now reading codes. The issue is that this is intermittent with no warning and has been incredibly difficult to pinpoint the exact issue. This has also been incredibly pricey trying to chase an issue that appears one day and clears itself the next and lastly this has been terrifyingly frustrating as I do not know if i will have valid brake control or not on each ride. This issue could be life or death and was traumatizing as I had my son and mother in the car with me during the first event.Read more
