The passenger rear door latch will it operate from the inside, thus making it a safety hazard in case of emergency. Inability to open the door from the inside will prevent passenger, often a child, from being able to safely exit a vehicle in an emergency. With the cost the consumers paid for these Vehicles it should not have to fall on them due to the inferior parts and workmanship of the manufacturing Company. The Average Consumer cannot afford to fix this issue, and some are still paying for their Pacifica's Immediate action should be taken with this problem as many Babies, Children and adult lives are being put at risk. The vehicle stalled on the freeway while traveling 75 mph in the HOV lane. After the engine shut off, I recalled an error message on the dash that stated, "Motive power will stop and pull over quickly.” I needed to take evasive action to bring the vehicle to the side of the 5 freeway. After letting the vehicle sit for a few minutes, I successfully restarted the engine, but the dash continued showing an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). We were traveling at 75 mph in the HOV lane (lane #1) when the vehicle engine cut off without warning. Once the engine was off, I saw a warning on the instrument cluster that the vehicle would lose all motive power (it's a hybrid) and that I should immediately stop it. I needed to take emergency action, cross over 5 lanes of freeway traffic, and then stop on the side of the road. The vehicle did not allow an engine to restart while in Neutral, with the car moving. The vehicle was brought in for the recall of 03A/NHTSA 23V-010. From what I understand, this recall did not fix the problem (reported to be a faulty wiring harness in the transmission). I installed a software update to display the error message that instructed me that all motive power would be lost and that I should stop the vehicle.Read more

Vehicle is a 2011 Chrysler Town Country Touring L and has 68,000 miles on it. It is well maintained with no issues prior to compliant incident. While normal driving of vehicle emergency dash light system activated numerous safety warning lights i.e.: ABS, ESC, Engine light. My wife was travelling on a highway at 68 mph. Loss of drivability noted at the time included; loss of speedometer, abnormal
... shifting of transmission, loss of ABS and traction Control, Cruise Control and seat belt notification. The following day, I took the vehicle to repair dealership where I was notified that there was numerous codes showing up on scanner. PCM Codes included; c2200 Internal fault of ABS Module, U1110, U1120, P0501. Advised that I would lose numerous other systems not noted due to codes these included; electric rear doors inoperable while vehicle started, seat belt alarm system, rear parking system notification. Dealership advises that Chrysler company has put the sale of ABS modules part # 68089474AA on hold for over the last year, due to an Engineering review, and that no modules are available for sale. It was recommend that I "get rid of the vehicle". In doing internet searches this is a long running problem with numerous vehicles using this same ABS Module system. Due to the numerous safety systems this affects, the vehicles are unsafe without a recall to correct this manufacturer defective ABS Brake Module. I have had to setup an auxiliary GPS module to calculate speed and severely limit driving this vehicle during inclement weather. As of now normal braking remains unaffected but there. Public is at the mercy of the manufacturer as ABS modules are not for sale and have a retail value of over $1300.00 + install and dealer reprogramming. This is a severe safety issue and aligns with other current recalls of similar models with the same condition. You may contact me at anytime to discuss. The steering wheel becomes sticky when traveling at speeds over 60 MPH. When I try to turn the wheel to maintain center of road, the steering wheel has a small catch or sticky spot which makes it difficult to turn it. This first appeared around 4,000 miles in. When the vehicle is put into park and turned off, it will sometimes say the vehicle is not in park and to put the vehicle into park. I am unsire if it is a sensor failing or if the vehicle really is not truly in park, although the indicator on the dash shows P. This is a concern because if it is in fact not actually parked, the car can roll away when exiting.

The electrical system for the Chrysler Pacificas are dangerous. Beyond the other dangerous recalls, my Horn and cruise control no long work intermittently. The contact owned a 2013 Hyundai Santa. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V651000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. As the contact walked away, while the vehicle was parked, a passerby informed the contact the vehicle was on fire. Per the contact, smoke, and flames were coming from underneath the vehicle.
