Chevy has put out a "special coverage" (number XXX) on 2016 to 2018 volts on the BECM issue that is currently being investigated. I need to make the note that upon trying to fulfill this warranty/ special coverage on my 2016 volt, they are finding loopholes to not cover a huge handful of 2016 to 2018 volts that have the exact same BECM issue and components as the volts that are covered. Although
... I'm not positive, it seems to me that they are not granting special coverage to all volts that have a PZEV warranty in place as it's redundant. However, 75% of us with PZEV warranties are in non CARB states and cannot utilize the warranty. So they are leaving us within this category who have the exact same BECM issues as every other 2016 to 2018 volt out of being eligible for the new coverage, while making it look like they are fixing the entire issue. They are secretly leaving a handful of us dry and without this coverage. Not only that, they are refusing/ unable to give me accurate information as to what vehicles qualify for this warranty if not all 2016 volts which is against the Magnuson-Moss warranty act and illegal on their part. They forced me to pay $2500 for this repair after telling me I would be covered by warranty and obviously would have held my car had I not paid. After telling me it was free. Somebody needs to probe deeper into this and make sure that Chevy is honoring what they claim because it appears to me they are secretly trying to [XXX] a percentage of 16 to 18 volt owners who have the exact same issues and components as the cars that are covered. This is a safety issue as my car died and temporarily stranded me several times before this repair as you guys already know is an issue with the 16 volts that Chevy has refused to acknowledge until recently. AC Compressor for the car battery system failed. There was a check engine light that was on steady, but not flashing. The electric range in the car reduced by 20 to 30% as a result of this fault. It was brought into the BMW dealership for inspection and they determined that was a short in the AC compressor and that the whole AC compressor system would need to be replaced; compressor, lines and r
... adiatorx2 (battery radiator also needed). This was because this typical failure causes metal filings to enter the cooling system and it's not recommended to flush it out. There were no prior warnings or noise leading up to the problem. I'm concerned that there is a high risk that further driving the vehicle or charging it could cause a battery failure and cause it to catch on fire since there is no cooling. Normally a flashing engine light means to stop driving immediately, but there was no flashing light only a steady light. The BWM system check menu reported no issue with the car! The repair bill for this is about $8,400 and is rediculous. This seems to be a common problem when you start searching for it. Seems to also happen to the BMW i8 which shares the same compressor. Note that there are several revisions to the ac compressor part number which seems to suggest that they had to keep changing the part as production went on but did not notify affected cars that they could have a serious problem. This shouldn't be happening at 77k miles.Read more

I am writing to you regarding the vehicle safety which I became aware of recently but there was no solution provided. IF this happened to me, it can happen to anyone driving the same model and needs to be addressed as soon as possible before the fatality occurs as this is danger to the public.I was driving a vehicle on [XXX] after just picking it up from service (serviced at Ray Catena Lexus
... on [XXX] for 15,000 miles service and oil change) at the rate of speed approximately 65 mph. All of sudden the vehicle started making noises, transmission shifted from auto to lower manual gear and I was barely able to keep control of the vehicle. Luckily, I was able to pull over safely, turned it off, gave it some break and turned back on. Vehicle seemed to be operational and since I was close to the AmTrak train in Washington DC, I have decided to take the train as intended to Florida along with a vehicle. Upon arrival in Florida, I was able to take the vehicle to the dealership JM Lexus on [XXX]. I explained the problem and they checked the vehicle and released it to me shortly saying that there was nothing wrong. This dealership charged me $141.92. As I just left the dealership and got on the highway, the vehicle started to act up again. I was only able to take it back to the same dealership on [XXX], the mechanics did another check on the vehicle and discovered that the spiral cable had an oily residue on it and that was the reason for the electronic issue I was having, but that cable was not covered by the warranty and I was quoted $1,800.00 to get it fixed. Which is odd considering that not only did I buy out of this vehicle a few weeks prior but the vehicle was just serviced on [XXX] (with odometer reading at 12,728 miles) never giving any issues prior. After having a back and forth conversation, they dropped the price to nearly $1,000.00 but being concerned for my and my spouses safety, I had no choice but to pay. As I was leaving my son's school parking lot - moments away from an on-ramp to a major freeway - an error message flashed on the dash saying "Service Charging System" followed by a message about the vehicle's speed being limited and a red turtle icon. The van instantly was driving strangely. Since I was in a parking lot, I turned everything off and waited for the van to shut down completely. I res
... tarted the van and the warning messages were gone, but the check engine light remained. The van showed more than 15 miles of battery mileage remaining. The week prior, we had taken it into the dealership for the open recalls to be repaired, so we took it back for this issue. The dealership just messaged me saying the van is ready to be picked up and that the charging system was just low. But it still had nearly 1/2 the battery left when this happened! The dealership went on to say, "So here is the deal, we could not verify the concern at this time. There are no codes in the system, nothing to really test for. I can have someone drive it and see if anything happens, but without being able to duplicate your concern, we cannot diagnose it." My sister-in-law had the exact same issue on her own Chrysler pacific Hybrid just a few months ago, while she was on the freeway and her speed was instantly throttled. They replaced the entire electrical hybrid transmission. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the ongoing issues plaguing my car. This dissatisfaction is compounded by the fact that this car was brand new when I picked it up from the dealership, with no miles on it. Since then, I have encountered a series of concerning problems. At around 30,000 miles, the batteries required replacement, followed shortly by a transmission replacement at
... 40,000 miles. Additionally, the TV screens throughout the car began shutting off autonomously, a persistent issue that remains unresolved. Subsequently, at 60,000 miles, both the engine and batteries needed replacement once again. Despite repeated efforts to address these issues under warranty, the car continues to experience persistent troubles. It often stalls every two days, and despite addressing these issues under warranty, the TV malfunctions persist. Furthermore, the situation has escalated with the engine now overheating and malfunctions occurring in critical safety features such as airbags, lights, and ACC. These concerns have created a myriad of safety issues within the vehicle, particularly during driving, with multiple safety concerns arising regarding the navigation and various electronic components. It is evident that these safety hazards are all mechanically related and have persisted since the car reached 30,000 miles. Additionally, amidst these significant safety concerns, one of the main safety components of the vehicle is compromised. Intermediately and on a consistent basis, the car doors open on their own, posing a serious risk. There have been instances where my son has inadvertently pressed the door to open from the outside, and the doors open without any form of key input. The key is not present, yet the door opens on its own, triggering the alarm. This ongoing issue has left me emotionally and monetarily drained over the past few years.Read more

This Volvo was bought in Worcester, Massachusetts. We used to live in USA before moving to our home country The Netherlands. Taking the Volvo with us. For many months the car consumes extreme amounts of oil. Indicating low oil every time. We need to refill every 1200-2000 km. We notified our Volvo dealer over and over again when having scheduled maintenance. No thorough inspection was done. We f
... elt unsafe when traveling long distances, afraid the engine would break down or insecure about the oil consumption and what was causing it. We had an independent Volvo specialist inspect the car and he knew there is a design flaw in the cylinder pistons. The full problem was described by Volvo in technical journal [XXX]. Due to the fact that the Volvo dealer did not take the problem seriously, we had been driving with this problem way too long causing extreme cylinder defects resulting in having to replace the entire engine with a new one. We feel this matter should have been addressed better by Volvo and we request compensation for the costs made. We also don’t understand why Volvo didn’t recall this batch of cars that were designed with too small cylinder pistons for the capacity of the engine causing heavy oil consumption. We look forward to your reaction. As we live in The Netherlands, kindly e-mail. The Volvo importer of The Netherlands was also contacted, but they redirected us to you as the car was bought in the USA. We have a full repair report that can be shared upon request. Also the faulty engine is still with the Volvo specialist as proof of the described problems. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

11 days after purchasing the vehicle it began shutting completely off in the middle of me driving it, losing all power for no reason I could see and would not turn on for a considerable amount of time. I brought the vehicle back to the dealership on 6 separate occasions, one of the times my car stayed at Jenkins Hyundai for 12 weeks while they tried to find the issue. Finally, it was towed to a Hy
... undai dealership in Valdosta, GA who kept it for 2 weeks and found two electrical shorts under the front bumper. After this repair it stopped losing power randomly but I still experienced electrical surges, flickering, and consistently blown lightbulbs. It was brought back to my dealership I bought from after this but they claimed nothing was wrong, so I gave up trying. I don't feel like my issues were ever taken seriously and I am now stuck with this vehicle.Read more

In a Walmart parking lot I bumped into a curb stone with the left front tire at low speed (5 mph?). The passanger side air bag went off and blew out the windhield. I do not believe the air bag should have deployed at such a low speed. There was no damage to the car body. Total cost for replacing the air bag, windshield and both front seat belts was around $3,500.

I was traveling with my Ram 1500 Eco diesel truck pulling my camper when the Crankshaft position sensor on the transmission failed and my truck went into limp mode. I called the local ram dealership and they said they couldn't get me in for 5 days. I was staying in my camper off of the side of the road. So needing to do something I called another local shop and they got me in the next day and p
... ut it on diagnostics. Luckily they were an honest shop and they ran the truck and found out that this truck had a recall or extended manufacturers warranty for this sensor so they called the dealership for me and verified it. So I paid 150 dollars for the diagnostics and took my truck to the dealership to have the recall work on the sensor done. a week later I picked it up. I sent the 150 dollars receipt for the diagnostic work to FCA and they refuse to pay stating they don't pay for diagnostics. The only reason I had a diagnostic done was because of the failing part which turned out to be on recall or extended manufacturers warranty. I feel they owe me for this covered repaired. Please help me recoup my loss for this covered breakdown. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

transmission will not shift all the time and gets hung up! After following a group this seems to be a problem with the gladiator automatic transmission. It will not shift into reverse and shifts hard from 3rd to 4th. This should be a recall due to so many people having issues and the only thing to fix it is to get a new transmission.
