Abs/traction control light. Dealer says it needs a new abs module and pump. It’s too new to have these issues, dealer states that it is not a recall and I would have to pay out of pocket ($1600) for the repairs. This is not safe at all. I live in indiana and doesn’t like stopping when the road is snow covered. Ram/chrysler needs to have this recalled immediately. This is very dangerous!!

I had only 2,950 miles on my car and I assumed it was a defect in glass or installation so my husband took it to the Toyota dealership service center in Carlsbad Ca where we purchased the car and they informed him it was not covered under warranty. They gave him an 800 number to call to find out why the warranty was denied and when he called they told them they would get back to him and that they would not put the denial in any written form as he requested. As of today March 17th, no one has called back so now we start the difficult process of trying to get answers from Toyota. Since we needed the car back and couldn't wait from Toyota's response, we were forced to turn it in to the insurance company and pay the deductible. After doing some research, I'm finding out exploding sunroofs is a known issue on Toyotas. I believe this is an extreme safety hazard and am surprised the company was quick to deny it as a warranty issue. This seamed similar (Slow down etc.) to what happened this time. I did some research found out that there was multiple recalls on the catalytic converter and it’s causing a fire the ECUs and also the antitheft system so I am a single mom. I work constantly and my only vehicle with 4kids, so a full month mark my Oil light all of a sudden started coming on but flickering I pulled over there’s no smell of burning oil no leaks no high temp I checked my oil stick. It was fine a thick drip on it. I Thought everything was fine, but the light still kept coming on and flickering when I would accelerate it would go off when I would decelerator push clutch in it would stay. I called kia dealer had it taken, did the recall orders on it but they told me they wouldnt do an oil check or do a code diagnostics for it unless I paid over $200 for just that diagnostics after they did all the recall orders I picked up the car over a day later. started having misfires the car was driving worse then when I took it to the dealership, i would drive up hill I’d lose power. Shifting gears from 1-4 it sounds like the whole engine was shaking like it was gonna fall out of the car I called the dealership and told them what was goin on. They were really rude to me and told me an hour later it was throwing codes of misfires an again have to pay for it, they stated the oil an misfires werent their fault doin the recalls. Vehicles windshield appears to be defective. Small rock hit windshield I. 2/18, got replaced immediately after for around 1000 dollars. Not even three weeks later on 3/14 a semi kick up a rock and my windshield has a crack that can not be patched up, it has to be repaired. I went immediately to Safelite after second rock hit and it had spread so much that it had to be replaced.

It operated almost normally for the first 250 miles and we were able to reach our destination, but the propulsion battery was not able to recharge from the engine power as efficiently as usual. An auto shop at the destination who does not specialize in EVs examined the car and found a fault in the engin

It gave the message "engine unavailable" on the freeway and began running on its battery reserves, which were barely enough to reach the nearest exit. If the car had run out of battery reserves where pulling over to stop would be unsafe, a dangerous situation would have resulted. The car had to be towed home. An EV specialist mechanic inspected the car and diagnosed a faulty EGR valve resulting in a short in the power to the engine control module. The car has been waiting at the mechanic for a new EGR valve for 5 months due to a nationwide parts shortage. Two months ago the request for the new EGR valve was escalated to a "STACK order" but I still have no updates on when the new part will actually be available. Online forums dedicated to the Volt have many posts about cars waiting for months for a new EGR valve. Two weeks ago, I contacted the Chevrolet parts concierge about the issue. They took down all my contact information and stated they would be in touch. Today after not hearing back from Chevrolet, I called the parts concierge again. Fortunately, the three times this happened, we were less than a half mile from our home and we coasted downhill to the bottom of our driveway. Our vehicle has now been at a certified Chrysler dealership for three full business days, and the technician "has no idea what is wrong," "is still working on it," "has no idea how long it will take to fix," and "has no rental or loaner cars available" for our family while we wait for our family's mode of Transportation to be returned. They claim they are unable to recreate the issue, so they cannot fix it. We showed them a picture of the dashboard, but that is not enough for them. It is currently 72 degrees in Dayton, OH, and the issue has never occurred in temperatures above 30 degrees. Thus, I doubt they will be able to "recreate" the issue until next winter. About a week ago the engine started making a strange sound when accelerating at low/mid speed through 2nd and 3rd gear. Best I could describe the sound was "a leaf in a fan blade". About 3 days after that sound started I just happened to be driving with the windows down around 10mph and heard a slight ticking sound. I returned home and immediately checked the oil. ... I saw oil sprayed all over the left side of the engine compartment. When I checked the oil level it was completely empty, but there was standing oil on the skid plate underneath. There were never any warning lights of any kind. Both of the sounds were quiet enough that when the radio was on I couldn't hear them - thankfully I drive with it off most of the time! I parked the car for the weekend, put 4quarts of oil in it Monday morning and drove it to the dealership to drop off. They inspected it and (according to them) found a snapped cam shaft and a cracked timing cover which is where the oil was leaking from while driving. There was also a high amount of metal shavings found when they did a contamination check. This is the primary family car. We use it to go out of town almost every weekend and had just returned home the night before I found the oil leak. With how the oil was spraying across the entire engine compartment and all over the belts this could have very easily resulted in an engine fire at worse or have left us stranded on the side of a busy interstate with a bricked engine along with two adopted foster children with severe PTSD, anxiety, ADHD and extreme behavioral issues when confronted with stressful situations.Read more

On empty roads at low speeds, vehicle flashed emergency braking signs and stopped abruptly. Happened multiple times in January both in reverse and when driving forward normally. A spool valve leak occurred leaking oil onto the alternator which caused it to fail when driving. When it failed, electrical systems started to shut down. At first, the ABS system indicator lit up. ... y puts drivers at risk when driving at high speeds. When driving down the interstate, all the electrical systems started to shut down. The ABS system was the first indicator, along with multiple electrical systems soon thereafter. Once pulled over, the vehicle could not go in reverse as well. I now understand this to be a well known issue as published in Honda Technical Service Bulletin TSB [XXX] However, no information was sent to owners even though Honda has known about the issue since at least March 2020. This puts unnecessary safety risks for those driving with oil leaking onto the alternator resulting in electrical system shutdowns and issues driving. I believe a recall and safety notice should be issued. Yes, the component was inspected by Honda and replaced. The first indicator was the ABS system warning light along with many other systems shutting down. This occurred at a high-rate of speed on the freeway. Upon pulling over, the vehicle also could not go in reverse. I am frustrated Honda has known abut this issue for many years, but has not informed owners nor offered to correct the issue leading to safety issues and costly repairs. I was driving on the highway 87 California from the south to the north. After I changed to the furthest left lane and stay within the lane completely. I started to turn on ADAS system, as I was adjusting the desired speed, I felt the car was speeding up too much to reach my speed set up, so I decided to step on the brake to slow down the car. Right when I step on the brake, I heard a loud noise f

On one hand, the car ADAS want to speed up to the desire speed, on the other hand, the brake was engaged by me so it need to stop. That conflicts result my car shifted to Neutral on the highway, which I was able to drive it to the emergency lane and stop it. After the car came to complete stop, I shifted it to Park, and the car screen had a lot of errors on the screen and unable to continue to drive. Only after I got out of the car and turned off the car completely and wait 15 minutes, then I was able to start the car and drive again.Read more

The day after paying off my wife's 2018 Escape with 102,000 miles on it started telling us to pull over while driving on the highway because the engine was getting hot We pulled over and it went away. ... was told that these regularly have head gasket problems, that was the problem with ours and we would have to replace the engine for about $10,000.00. A quick call to the Ford dealer and a perusal of the internet confirmed what the mechanic stated. I see information about the faulty head gaskets on the 1.0 liter engines, when I look on line I see at least as many customer complaints about the 1.5 liter engine in the escapes. These engines both have the same faulty wet sleeve design that is going to fail prematurely. Why isn't Ford being forced to address the dangerous engines in the escapes as well as the ecosport?Read more
