I bought the vehicle in December 2020 from a dealership in Mason, Ohio named Borcherding Buick GMC. I asked, specifically to make sure the vehicle did not have any issues, especially transmission issues and for this to be researched, as well. I was not made aware of Bulletin No.: 18-NA-358, which affected Buick Enclave models from 2014-2017. I purchased the vehicle and sent a wire transfer for the
... purchase price to the dealership through my bank, USAA. We began experiencing transmission slips about a year into the ownership, and I had my mechanic look into the issue. He had just replaced the transmission on my wife’s 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan previously when it experienced a catastrophic failure and had to be replaced. This is the reason I asked to make sure the transmission on the 2014 Buick Enclave was working correctly and properly and there were no known issues. The mileage of the vehicle was under 60,000 miles at the time of purchase, so this should not have been an issue for the vehicle at all and the previous owner was, apparently, an elderly woman who had the vehicle serviced at the shop, but I cannot confirm this. The point being, there was a known issue with this vehicle that was not disclosed to me that General Motors was aware of and could have led to me not purchasing the vehicle. We needed an SUV to drive my wife and daughter(s) to and from volleyball tournaments and something that we did not have to worry about. The result is a replacement transmission paid for by me out of pocket by a GM dealership. GM refuses to acknowledge their faulty transmission. The rebuilt transmission is experiencing the same issues the old one was and GM wants me to take it in and have it “looked at”. The transmission is faulty! They know this and they refuse to reimburse my costs and refuse to acknowledge the dangers this transmission imposes to drivers and our families! Please investigate this transmission and their engineering.Read more

I had begun to notice a slight shimmy at highway speed for a few days, but it wasn't pronounced enough to cause concern, especially since the weather was very windy and already subjecting the car to heavy crosswinds. On Monday, [XXX], the shimmy became suddenly more pronounced, so I pulled off the highway ([XXX]) and parallel-parked on street in Cambridge, MA. While parking, I heard a loud creakin
... g and grinding sound, and the car no longer responded to steering inputs. I exited the car and noticed the rear driver's side wheel protruding at a strange angle from the wheel well. I called AAA and the tow truck driver discovered that, behind the wheel, where the wheel meets the rear axle, the arm had rusted clean through. In other words, the wheel had completely fallen off, and was being held to the car only by the brake line. I was towed to a mechanic in Salem, MA. Both the Salem mechanic and the AAA tow truck driver said that they had never seen anything like this in all the years they'd been servicing cars. I told them that the car had never been in a flood or otherwise involved in the kind of extraordinary event that would cause more than typical rust exposure. Had the wheel come off at highway speed, I could have been seriously injured or killed. The issue did not seem to have been caused by driver/owner oversight or normal wear and tear. It seems highly unusual and potentially indicative of a defect or manufacturing error. I hope other 2010 Prius owners are aware of the vehicle's susceptibility to this issue. And I would like Toyota to take some responsibility for the high cost of repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

On [XXX], this Volt was towed to the Dealer because the Volt would not start, would not charge, and the engine light was on. The Dealer claimed that the hybrid battery connectors were corroded, the disconnect relay should be replaced, and the BECM should be replaced again at a total cost of $5,005.58. On [XXX], GM issued special coverage warranty N232432680 (15 year, 150,000 miles) to cover BECM replacements for a malfunction involving the BECM. Plaintiff checked the VIN at the GM Recall and Warranty Center website. The Volt at issue is covered under special coverage warranty N232432680, according to the GM website. Plaintiff asked the Dealer and GM again after [XXX] about warranty coverage for the BECM at issue. GM responded that the bumper-to-bumper warranty expired and that they would provide no assistance. On [XXX], Plaintiff filed a complaint with the local Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding the BECM at issue. GM responded in writing that the bumper-to-bumper warranty expired and that they would provide no assistance. Plaintiff sought arbitration, but both the local BBB and the BBB Auto Line found that Plaintiff was not eligible to arbitrate with GM due to GM’s program summary guidelines with the BBB. GM breached multiple warranties and failed to provide sufficient repairs, and this Volt has been out of service for more than 80 days. Based on GM’s warranty breaches, insufficient repairs and inconsistent statements, this Volt poses serious safety concerns. After couple of times, I tried to press brake and push on start button, the brake hit me back and I’m unable to press the brake at all. 4. Instrumentation cluster shown series of messages like below.. a) Keyfob not detected in the car - We are still in the car and key fob is with us in the car b) Hybrid system not working 5. After some time car wipers automatically started and wiping very slowly. It could be because the battery is low and we are shocked to see why the wipers are started though there is no rain and also the Wipers control is in Off position only. 6. We in the car are shell shocked and my pregnant wife is still in trauma even after a week thinking about the incident. After calling SOS, the vehicle has been towed to nearest Heritage CDJR Dealer of Harrisburg. But they are not ready to inspect the vehicle right away. We waited for 4 hours and then we had to take the rental vehicle to restart our journey. It's been a week and the car is still with the Dealer. Incident date: May 1, 2024
Service electronic braking system / ABS service antilock brake system. Both these lights come on and ding, half a second later they are off. This happens non stop, looks like everyone is having this problem. This should be a recall not a $1200 fix. I only have 58,252 miles on my truck. This problem for me has been going on and off for 2 months.
