The van suddenly jolted and stopped completely. I tried to turn it on and it would not start. I was very lucky that the car behind me noticed me slowing down and did not hit the van. I tried to turn on the van and the electrical function would turn on but not the engine. Then after continuously trying to start it the gear function would not move. I also want to add that at the time of purchase the van was missing a air duct and I was not made aware of that. I was told by the dealer that it had active recalls but they were not able to fix the recalls because the engine would not start. It had an active recall for the flash software and for the start stop. Dealer tried to tell me it overheated, however this is false, there was no white smoke and no other indications that the van had overheated. I slowed down to turn into my daughter's driveway and park in front of their boat (maybe 5 mph if that). Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed on its own. I hit the brakes with no response. I had to veer to the left of the driveway onto the grass to avoid hitting the boat and garage. As I came down the hill, I approached a large embankment of a knocked over tree, dirt and brush pile. I knew I had to do something or it would be a serious impact. I quickly swerved to my right. I didn't know there was a ditch to the right of this embankment, but thankfully it brought my vehicle to a stop as my front left tire became flat and stuck in the dirt This was very shocking and traumatizing. We verified there was nothing on the floor that would have caused the gas to be accelerated. My car is currently on 3 wheels where it stopped (1 wheel suspended in the air). I received medical care at the ER for back pain. A CT scan showed I had a T12 Vertebrae compression fracture. I was prescribed a back brace, pain medication and an anti-inflammatory. I have also been alternating with a heat pad and ice pack, plus using a cane to help me get around. I will be contacting Toyota as well for an investigation into the problem, but I am scared to drive this vehicle again if if they do check it over. A police report was started on 14 Jul with the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, Oxford, MS, but it hasn't been completed. The report number is 24-003363. On 8/22/2022 I had to replace the 2 front tires with MIM-Supreme Tour 18 inch tire 235/55R18. On 8/22/2022 I had 162,323 miles on the 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE 4 months later and 17,252 miles driven - the 2012 Toyota Sienna now has 179,575 miles and on 12/28/2023 the 2 front tires again have to be replaced - Matrix Toyr RS 11 on 18 inch rims. Now its July 2024 - again 6 months and now 6,700 miles

Tried pressing start - break pedal is hard. Called AAA. He did not have to jump start. I just kept pressing start. All of a sudden vehicle starts again like nothing happened. Its been fine so far for a week

The top brake light bar on the wing over the trunk consistently fails. I have had to replace almost yearly. Water gets into the light bar causing the LEDs to short out and fail. This makes my brake activity difficult to see for truckers and other tall cars. This is certainly a design defect that water should get in do easily. In regards to dates, the lamp fails annually.

I was able to get over and pull off to the shoulder to avoid incident but this could have easily turned into a very bad crash with a less experienced driver behind the wheel or if we had been going faster. Prior to this happening there was no warning of an issue with the vehicle - temperature check was in center between C and H, oil pressure was normal, no warning lights on dash, plenty of fuel and car was not due for an oil change for another 40 miles. Once I pulled over and stopped, turned off the car, it would not restart. Not enough power to turn over the engine. We had to call AAA and have the car towed home 35 miles. I had the vehicle towed to the Kia dealership and they are stating that it is not covered under a current recall or warranty extension and are seeking over $12,000 to replace the engine. I feel like my vehicle 2014 Kia Sorento SX V6 with 3.3L engine needs to be looked into for recall and warranty extension on the engine.Read more

This is a huge safety risk because they note "Certain vehicles may exhibit intermittent headlight flickering while driving with the light switch on AUTO light mode" in there TSB and it says " intermittent" witch means "not happening regularly or continuously" so it doesn't happen they wont cover it under warranty. The check engine light did not turn on, and no service codes were generated which could have been related to these power failures My local dealer's service department (Pohanka in Salisbury, MD) tested the alternator, starter, and battery and found nothing wrong. They did charge the battery up a bit, saying it took only 20 minutes. They have been unable to re-create the problem, which is not surprising, due to the unique conditions under which it happened. They say there is nothing they can do about my problem under warranty because there is no code and they can't reproduce the problem, so they want to give me back a vehicle that we know behaved unsafely six times under dangerous conditions. Engines failing without warning on interstates are likely to result in being rear-ended. I see online that the hybrid model of the same model year has a recall for exactly this same issue, so it is not a new issue for Chrysler, although maybe new-ish for my non-hybrid model of the same vehicle.Read more

Vehicle lost motive power while driving. Vehicle was new with less then 1,500 miles. After a full charge drove about 4 miles and received message "vehicle will shut down". ... hifter to pull the release to get it to roll. Unfortunately, you must hold the pull strap the whole time while police officers were attempting to push me out of the road. I also had no power steering and was almost impossible to get the steering wheel to move. I had to use all my force with one hand because other was holding the release strap. After getting to the side of the road the vehicle finally shut off completely. It then finally started, and I took it straight to the dealership. I also I got an email from Jeep for triggered alerts, and it was for Traction Battery Cut-off state. This was also my cutoff date for Jeep connect/Sirius XM for the trial from when I purchased the 2024 Wrangler Sahara 4xe. People in the 4xe forum have said this is a time it has happened to them before too. Was a scary situation because I was without power in the middle of the road and not able to move on my own. Almost was rear ended like 10 times. The dealership stated they couldn’t replicate and did something with the software. But when asking the lady at the dealership about all the things I have seen on the forum and if this was happening to others, she stated you can’t trust those forums. I was very taken back and felt she knew more than she would share with me. I then saw this was a recall for prior years and mine was a brand new 2024 at the time. I am constantly worried it will happen again and if it was anyone else in my family it could have been much worse. At the time of this oil change you can clearly see when they drain the oil in that the truck is low about 4.5-4.7 of the 7.7 quarts of oil in its capacity. 5 days later I get all these errors and I have it towed to the dealer and they are now telling me that the engine is blown and that they will not honor the warranty because it didn’t have a Toyota filter on it, even though it had the correct aftermarket oil filter on it they still elected to deny it and are refusing to do anything for me. This is a leased truck that I bought additional coverage on and they still want me to buy a new engine for roughly $25k. It seems evident that the 2024 Hybrid Tundra motors are also having the same metal shavings in the oil pan. Toyota and the dealer have both treated me like a bastard red headed stepchild and jerked me around for 3 days only to tell me to call some 800 number and that at some point in the future Toyota will send out and engineer to evaluate. Meanwhile I’m without a truck (which I need for my business) dealer won’t give me a loaner and won’t offer to atleast split the rental charges with me.
