Their engineering team reviewed the telemetry and dismissed the incident as “pedal confusion.” As a driver with over 30 years of experience across gas and electric vehicles, I find that explanation hard to accept. I requested a written report or access to the raw telemetry data, but they refused. Follow-up emails to the CEO have gone unanswered. A few weeks prior to the accident, the car unexpectedly surged forward during a left turn but corrected itself when I lifted off the accelerator. I assumed it was a one-time glitch—until the more serious incident occurred. Recently, I came across a recall (reported 3/27/2025) related to floor mats potentially causing unintentional acceleration which Lucid must have known but did not acknowledge to me. It appears, my vehicle was not included in this recall. I fear there may be a deeper issue—possibly with the engine or battery system. At that time, the only thing I could relate it to as far as how it felt was that the steering assist/ lane keeping assist was wanting to run the show. But I don’t use the feature and have only tried it a couple times since I got the truck – specifically to see how it felt. There was NO MESSAGE on the instruments. Anyway, my point is: this seems to be a serious safety issue, and I would think Ford would want to figure out what happened. The Ford dealership service manager kind of blew it off like, ‘well, stuff happens’. That’s all good and I’m not faulting him – they did a great job of repair, and the truck now drives like a new truck (new steering assembly shipped overnight from Memphis, TN to Livingston, TX) – steering is actually better that the first day I had it. It was always a little quirky in its ‘feel’ so I just thought it was kind of what it would be. Didn’t feel perfect but not enough to complain or even say anything about. I just figured Ford had done something that just gave the steering a little bit different feel. Because our van was converted to a rear entry wheelchair van by Braunability we've had the conversion components/connections thoroughly inspected by the conversion company dealer. I can see online that this is a known issue with multiple vehicles equipped with the Pentastar V6 engine with stop-start and that there have been recalls but many people on the forum, the recall work didn't resolve the issue. We've had the vehicle to Chrysler dealers several times (four or five) to address the issue without permanent resolution. We've replaced the primary and secondary batteries several times. We've recently installed an aftermarket stop-start eliminator recently in the hope that it will resolve the problem. Additionally, because our Pacifica was converted for our disabled child, we will probably need to sell the vehicle at a significant loss because we can't risk having the vehicle stall on the interstate highway or freeway as we have no way to remove him from it safely. This issue seems so widespread that Chrysler/Stellantis should have continued responsibility to resolve it permanently.Read more

We just purchased this 2023 Cadillac CT5 from Cadillac of South Charlotte and took delivery by long haul truck at our home in Seymour, TN on [XXX]. It had 40,744 miles on the odometer. We drove the car approximately 12 miles when suddenly the car went into reduced power mode where it would not shift past 4th or 5th gear limiting our speed to approximately 45 miles per hour. ... closest GM Service location that was just a few miles away and during that time the message started alternating to another message that said the transmission was about to seize. At that point we had the car towed to Cadillac of Knoxville and the next day they told us that the transmission control valve body was bad. I have since learned that General Motors has recalled over 90,000 vehicles due to a transmission control valve issue that can cause the wheels to momentarily lock up, increasing the risk of a crash. Supposedly the affected models include just the 2020-2021 Cadillac CT4, CT5, 2019-2020 Cadillac CT6, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Camaro, with notifications to start being sent to owners this month mid-April. The recall for that issue according to what I read is to program the car to monitor the transmission and if it starts to fail to go into a reduced power mode. This is what my 2023 CT5 has just experienced. The Service Consultant at the dealership said they had ordered the part but that it was back ordered with no expected delivery date. Our new car is dead at the dealership. Everything I have read says GM is not fixing the defect in these transmissions. They are replacing the part with the same defectively designed part and transmissions that have been "fixed" are soon returning having to be "fixed" again. My vehicle is not covered by the most recent recall. Please take steps to expand the recall because they are still using the same transmissions and nothing has been done to fix the design flaw with them. The third-row seat does not lock in the stowed position. As one goes over speed bumps etc. it bounces up and down. Driver got back in car and all of a sudden the car just shut down saying overheated and smoke was coming out of the hood. Again, Absolutely no warning, no lights, no weird noises, nothing! We are now stuck in the middle of nowhere with our [XXX] granddaughter. Thank God a police man drove by. The next day we had to have it towed back to shop. Once back to the shop we were told that the engine or labor that they just put in our vehicle would not be covered by warranty. Nothing was fixed!!! I contacted the attorney general. We went to pick it up on 3/28/2025. Once they got involved the shop agreed to do all repairs for $1873.96. (pay $600 now and then post date 2 more checks). The owners said they looked over everything and nothing should be going wrong. It should be good as new. On [XXX] We were on our way to Puerto Penasco Mexico where we have a vacation home. Went over railroad tracks approaching intersection approximately 40 feet from tracks. Tapped brakes while going over tracks (light was red) and anti-lock brake system kicked in. I was suddenly unable to stop the vehicle as the brakes were not working and I was continuing to lurch forward toward the intersection at approximately 10 mph. The brakes continued to fail for approximately 1 - 1.5 seconds
... before I let off and slammed down on them as hard as I could and finally slammed to a stop. My car at this point, had gone slightly into the intersection, but not enough to get clipped by a car. Had I not let off the brake and re-hit it with force, I fear I would have continued to roll into the intersection where I would have gotten T-boned by traffic. Had highway speed traffic directly behind me. Dealership pulled codes related to the transmission. No previous issues or sign thereof. 25k miles.
