THE TRANSMISSION OFTEN LURCHES AND CLUNKS INTO GEAR WHEN SHIFTING AT LOWER SPEEDS (BETWEEN 2-4TH GEARS). IT HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING WITH SPECIFIC PEDAL PRESSURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ALMOST A YEAR AGO, AND SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE CAR HAS JUST SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN WHILE IN MOTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES. DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING, THE ENGINE WILL JUST SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE HAS CYLINDER #2 MISFIRE CODE. TWO SEPARATE INDEPENDENT LOCAL MECHANICS BOTH SUGGEST THIS IS DUE TO PITTING OF THE CYLINDER HEAD MATERIAL. THEY TELL ME IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE, 3.6L. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.
